Marcus Aurelius marched his men steadily along. He was in no great hurry. He knew that, by now, the others had broken through the Stargate. They would meet him at the entrance and clear the way.
Hunting horns began to sound in the distance. It's about time those fools began moving. He smiled in anticipation of the discipline that he would mete out to their commanders.

(( OOC - I figured that only 40 enemy would be a piece of cake for the Hangar Bay people to defeat. *evil grin* ))

Brad hit the dirt the minute he heard the horns. He knew they were Jaffa hunting communication. Crim-eny! This day was getting worse by the minute.

Harry approched the Ancient Curiser. He stepped inside. Most of the fire had gone out by now. He headed towards the bridge. He was winding his way through the corridoors of the ships. There was debrie everywhere. He passed by bodies of men that he had served with. He went by a corparl who had helped him out with repairs. What was he doing here? Thought Harry.

He started to go through the ship. He finally managed to make it to the bridge. He stepped into the once great bridge of a once great ship. Now they both had become nothing more than a burnt out wreck. He went over to the captain's chair. There was the colonel. He was dead. Harry didn't need to come back here to realize that. Why did I come here. Thought Harry.

He then turned around, and headed to the engine deck. He made his way down the corridoors where the bodies of his old comrades laid next to debry. He then turned into the place where he had once been in charge. He was the best here. Well at the rest of the base he never really had any power. Harry hated it. He had always been a free spirt. The marines had dulled that sense, and given him a sense of duty, and formality, but he still had that free spirit. Harry then turned, and touched the engine. He had helped rebuild the thing. What a waste of time. The thought went through Harry's mind. He didn't know why though. Maybe it was all just a big waste of time. Well, at least he still had some fun doing in.

Harry turned, and headed towards the door. All of a sudden the walkway above him fell. Harry dived forward. the walkway slammed into his back. Harry reached for his radio. He managed to pull it out, and as loud as he could he said "I am down ancient curiser." He then passed out, and the radio slipped from his hands.

Harry lay there for an hour. His heart rate slowed, and then finally it stopped. Harry was dead.

<< from the Hangar Bay >>

Col. Harvey, Lts. Davis and Matthews, Dr. Lucius, and Jaime stepped out into the outside. Harvey squinted in the sunlight.

"Come on folks, we've got about 5 clicks to go. Lets pick up the pace." She broke into a ground-eating jog, leaving the others no other choice but to follow.

With a light shrug, Claire followed Taylor. "Anyone else coming??" she asked.

"One sec guys" Matthews said, still grogy after sleeping. He Had tied his belt but not his shoes.

Sounds like a good mission Matthews thought. however, he had felt a bit ill, like when you wake up after having a late night and get disturbed after say, two hours sleep. He decided to ignore it.

Catching up to Jamie, he slung his P-90 over his shoulder and continued to ujust his belt with zatt on it. Seems that jamies rag-tag group was underway to rescue the allurus. Matthews was always keen to help, and someone had to protect the Doctors fromt he weilderness even though the doctors were military trained and had weapons experience, it was better than just the two of them.

Matthews was walking with Clarie davis, One of SG-1's members that he and Sg-6 rescued from being captured. It seems that one of SG-6, Lieutenant Martain was at the Alluris crash site.

On he went. Whistling and trying to digest a energy bar along the way.

Sarah quickly jogged up to Claire her fellow SG-1 team mate.

"How ya doing? And "Hows the shoulder?" she asked.

Alex held her P90 in one hand as she brought up the rear. Her dark eyes scanned the area carefully as she moved at a slight jog. They weren't going to make it in any sort of time, she clicked her radio, "This is Lucius. We're going to have to move faster than this. I don't like being in the open while Base is still trying to pull itself together. We need to find Harry as fast as we can."

Harvey tried to keep her pace reasonable not wanting to charge ahead of the others. Running had always been one of her strong points and she had run every morning regular as clockwork before this whole thing kicked off, now she had been resigned to the running on the machine in the gym which was never the same.

<R>"This is Lucius. We're going to have to move faster than this. I don't like being in the open while Base is still trying to pull itself together. We need to find Harry as fast as we can." <R>

" Harvey here, no problem! Speading up now!" Harvey started to stride out, uping the pace.

James follows everyone and raises his p-90. "I hope there are no jaffa about."

Joe Mallozzi: "Like my grandmother used to say: Whenever a gate closes, a hyperspace window opens…"

Alex smiled as she moved faster, catching up with James and giving him a grin, "That's why we're here." She lifted her P90 at him and winked.

Jaime sighed inwardly and matched Harvey's pace as best she could. No longer laden with the backpack it was much easier, and she could feel her muscles warming up as they ran along the edge of the forest. They used cover when they could, just to be on the safe side, but it was obvious that speed was the primary concern. Major Beale wore a permanently anxious expression that Jaime was sure wouldn't go away until they found... what had the major said his name was? Harry?

There was a faint plume of smoke marking the spot of the Alarius's wreck. It looked deceptively close, and even though Jaime could see the occasional wink of metal thru the dense foliage, she didn't allow herself to think that their little hike would be over sooner than later. Five clicks was five clicks.

"Hey," Claire greeted Sarah, "I'm going good, shoulder's not too bad, the sling might be off in a week or so, which is good. How you going?"

                                "Im good." Sarah replied.

As the pace of the running turned faster Sarah tuned her pace to keep up with them.
