((Ainty - sorry but Markie's colour is a little too psychedelic for me ole eyes darken it a little please thanks ))

Dean all but groaned at the sight of Markie. Where had he ended up ? Was this WeirdoVille ? Would he have any chance of ever getting a 'normal' nurse ? But then again... normal was boring, wasn't it ? Any distraction from these horrible surroundings was a good one. Dean figured it was much the same for the folks that had to live here. Unable to tweak with the base, they changed themselves.
He kept quiet as he was manhandled into the wheelchair; an object he vowed to never use again. He gripped the wheels (they had steering pokes) and looked at the two.
"I can ride myself, thank you. Where do I go ?" It's not like I'm crippled fercryinoutloud... And it would provide him with a chance to snoop around.

“Thank you!” Carrie gave the nurse an appreciative smile and followed the spike haired man with her gaze as he approached them.
He was an odd one out here on the base, easy to like, but definitely odd...

"I can ride myself, thank you. Where do I go ?"
Carrie looked down at Dean with a grin twitching in the corners of her mouth, “Unless you can show me a valid drivers license for that, you're not going anywhere alone.”
She straightened up her features, “Seriously though, if you intend to go outside of the infirmary, you must have an escort. Like Mark here. Base regulations.”
Giving Mark a pat on the shoulder, 'Have fun!' With a nod towards them all, “See you later.” Carrie left the party and headed out of the Med bay.

With a sigh of relief she spotted Gus... and Blue! by the counter. 'Oh well, technically Jen is more 'his' staff than anyone else's.'
Carrie stopped by the counter and leaned her left elbow on the top part of the counter, facing both men.
“General, nice to see you. Welcome home Gus...” adding with a smile, “...and as you see, the Infirmary has survived. Did everything work out on Shanstid?”

Gus nodded and shot a look at Nick “Yes. Thankfully all boring and according to plans.”

        "Touché, doc,"
Dean nodded good-naturedly at her returned banter. He nodded again as she laid out the regs and then left. Well, can't blame a guy for trying. He looked up at the nurses, all eager to leave.

"Well, you heard her. Let's go! Chop, chop!"

He even clapped hands, drawn in by the energy from the other two.

Nick straightened up and nodded to both Carrie and Gus. To Gus he said, "Nothing much. I was down on this level and thought I'd check on Ms. Simmons. I didin't see her mentioned in the morning report." He wasn't about to disclose the real reason he'd been down.

After the quick report on the hand-off to Shanstid's medics, he added, "Good. Time will tell if Mr. Bisenti ticks them off so badly that he can't get a fair trial there. We're running out of possible venues."

Jen was fidgeting, which was normal for her. She toyed with the thin covering on the bed, wished she still wore her rings so she could turn them. Could Janus use the healing device? Of course he could, but would he or General Blue want to learn? Considering that learning the healing device would allow them to use a ribbon device without too much adjustment.

She sat back up. It'd be a useful weapon for the pair to be able to use, though the one she had wouldn't fit a man's larger hands. She scratched at her back and knew it. It was a different feeling than Lie'na. An adult symbiote. 'He's here. When's Carrie going to come back?'

Carrie felt her face flush, and with a wince, she raised her hand as she looked between the two men, “My bad. It must have slipped my mind this morning.” she'd been the one on call the previous night, it was her responsibility to make the report. “I'll make sure it'll be done before I leave tonight. I'm sorry... She's doing as expected. She's stable and hopefully able to move out to the Med bay later on today. That will also mean less strain on our shortness of staff.”

Gus didn't say anything, he just nodded. He knew how Carrie was when it came to paper pushing, no need to get upset. It would lead nowhere and by the way she'd taken off this morning ... Well, he couldn't really blame her.

Carrie took a deep breath to try to shake off the her guilty conscious and get back on track again, “Actually I'm glad I found both of you here. I just ran a pre-mission check on one of our officers, a Major Jen Stevens if she's familiar to you? She wanted to know if we had someone needing a “patching up” before she left, in that case she said she could have a go with the healing device. My first thoughts where of Brihanna, Miss Simmons and then if she feels up to it maybe Ryn.”
Again she looked between Gus and Blue, “Anyone of you know if she's any good with it? I mean is it safe to let her use it on one of our patients?”

Gus looked at his clasped hands on the counter for a few seconds before he spoke, “I see your point,” and then turned to Nick with a hint of a smile, “What do you say? She was good the last time she used it... She got tired, but the effect was satisfying.”

Julia grimaced a little at the manhandling of her shoulder, but endured without complaints, “Well, with that 'wombat-cousin' spreading his droppings all over the waiting area, it almost caused Gloria having a coronary and...” she lowered her arm to let it rest in her lap with a sigh of relief and looked at Sujie with a smile twitching in the corners of her mouth, “...and I'll never forget the face of the SF that took refuge on the counter with a hissing fur ball hanging on for dear life on his pant leg.... If that animal was 'just' hungry, it sure rivaled Carrie being denied dinner.”

                “The mission.”
She chewed on her lip for a second, “Fortunately not very much 'playing around with aliens'. It'll be a lot of discussions, negotiations and visiting their hospitals to try and find ways for us to cooperate when it comes to medical matters. So I guess you could sum it it to walking and talking. I think I can handle it.”

Sujie groaned a little at the thought of Gloria. The groan was followed by a snicker at the ravenous Carrie, "Ahh yes, but, I don't think the little fur ball could hold a candle to our Carrie in action." She shook her head at the thought.

"Okay my dear, enough of the distractions. Don't think I am not aware of what you are up to." Scribbling a last few notes on the chart. She exhaled a huge sigh. "Okay you are free to go. I will review this with Gus. I know where to find you if I need anything else." She made a little queer face that only Sujie could make as she opened the curtain. "As for you Sir Lancelot, the Lady Guinevere is free for further pursuit again."

She turned and headed for the front desk. Where she found the small huddle of all parties that she needed. "Great! Carrie and Gus. Just who I need. General." She gave the General a small nod and continued not even aware she had interrupted an involved conversation.

Kirsten gave a small nod of affirmation to the Doctor. Markie made a small grimace at being referred to as 'Mark'. He hadn't noticed the Doctor just inside the curtain. Quickly poking the gum into the roof of his mouth. Followed by a small push of the pod further into his pocket. "Yes ma'am."

"Yes Sir, on your way." With a quick motion of the foot the brake was released and he had the wheelchair on the move. Pausing, "anything special I need to be aware of with the patient?" He was suddenly very serious. There was a small shake of the head from Kirsten. "Excellent. So a little leet one on one this eve in the lounge?"

Kirsten returned his grin, "You know it. I will look for you at the end of shift."

She watched the two disappear through the doors at the end of the medbay. Back to her whistling she made her way to the Major. "Good day ma'am. I just need to do a few basics and we will have you out of here." Kirsten busily prepared all she needed to complete the tasks which Carrie had requested.

Apparently, there was some professionalism inside Markie after all, Dean mused as he watched the nurses' interaction. "I cracked some ribs ... I'm doped up, though," he supplied, while smiling goofily, the meds still had that effect.

As they reached the waiting area it didn't take him long to spot the General, and was that the CMO ? Hm. Serious business ?!? What the heck's going on, can't just be a friendly visit, ...

He belatedly remembered to nod to the men in greeting as the chair passed them by. Unfortunately, there was no time for further smalltalk as Markie pressed the elevator's call-button.

The general waved away Svensson's explanation, "I actually took it to mean that no news was good news. I just wanted to send an e-mail directly to Mr. Cooper with an update."

At the mention of Stevens and the healing device, the man thumped himself on the forehead a couple of times before looking directly at Gus and asking, "Why didn't I recall her immediately? Simmons' injury is exactly the reason I'm hoarding that resource."
He turned to Carrie but, before he could speak, Dr. Kinagi arrived. Nick absentmindely greeted her and continued his thought, "Dr. Svensson, by all means, give Major Stevens free rein with Ms. Simmons. At the very least, she'll put her well on the road to recovery."
~Oohhh, won't that frost Mr. Cooper? He'll be indebted to a former host for the health of his girlfriend,~ Janus paused, ~Either that or he'll demand that it be used on every nick, scratch and bruise that the townspeople suffer.~
He can demand all he wants. They can't operate it without a former host. I don't know how much training it takes but, it can't be a case of put it on and use it. The only former ...
                      ~Or current,~ Janus interrupted.
Or current, Nick agreed, hosts are located within the base.
Aloud, Blue continued, "Possibly far enough along that she can return to Foreston to finish recuperating."

After a soft knock on the door, Carrie entered Recovery 2. Out of old habit, she gave the monitors a look in the passing as she walked up to the head end of the bed and placed a hand on Brihanna’s left arm, “Brihanna? Are you awake?”
