“Alright, one at a time...” Tim looked at the others with an amused grin, “Ok, once you're off the base perimeters it's a nice 10 km walk through the forest and if you take it easy and keep a low profile you might actually see some of the local wild life. In town there's a church, a few shops...” He grinned at Emma and her apparent taste for sweets, “A terrific bakery with all sorts of stuff. Both native and Earth-kind of varieties. There's also a bar combined with a small restaurant. That's where most of us stay if we have to spend the night there.”

    "People? Waldo? Bigfoot?"
Tim chuckled, “No, I'm afraid there hasn't been any sightings of the later two. People on the other hand; there's a few hundred in the actual town, add the farms in the neighborhood, both native and from Earth, and you can add about another fifty to one hundred people. One thing to keep in mind when visiting though,” he winced and stirred in his pudding for a few seconds before looking up, “When you go there, you need to keep well below the radar. There are some people there who aren't very fond of us 'base people'. Not very many, but enough to make the stay there uncomfortable if they want to, so it's best diplomatic behavior at all times and any weapons one have when walking there is straight off to the Sheriffs office upon arrival.”

"10 short klicks, so a little over an hour if nicely paced." She nodded as she slurped up the last of the pudding. The bakery remark brought a grin and a distant look, "Hmmm, pie. The most wonderful pie." For a moment she swore she could smell the Colonel on her now empty hand. That would have to be another date and a different time. "Maybe some real clothes, since my off-duty wardrobe is now very limited." Rolling the piece of fruit between her hands she let a glimpe over to the Doc make a slip.

"A bar? With music, dancing? A good place to stay you say? What do they call it? Should I tell them Timmo sent me? Would it get me a better room, rate?" Realizing she was popping off a precession of questions. Her eyes flashed, "Sorry. I suppose I should leave you boys to your meeting. Mission work to be done eh?"

The Captain was way too quiet. Maybe the new post was a little overwhelming for the man.

"You can stay if you want, unless Travis as team leader says no." Greg had speared the mystery meat.

"To be honest, sneaky isn't what I'm trained in, though I'm excellent if something needs destroyed . . ." He wondered how much of a demo kit the armory would trust him with. At least a few pounds of C4, remote detonator, blasting cord, a Bangalore would be too unwieldly to carry enough segments to be useful while on foot. "What kind of timeframe are we devoting to each planet?"

Travis chuckled at the list thrown by Greg, “I’ll pay big bucks to see Bigfoot around us for real. Not that we were short on theories back on Earth. I believe people will be there not really sure about Waldo; if he’s there it be hard finding him.” Oh he remembered the books and the fun on hunting the man with red and white strip shirt and thick rimmed glasses. “But I’m telling you Bigfoot’s are real,” there was a hint of jest in his tone.

Gald for the distraction from the untellable feeling he was getting Travis looked at Tim in slight mock shock, “No Waldo? No Bigfoot. Ah bummer.” Curving his lips in amusement, “Just my luck. Neither exists. Maybe I’ll try it in my life to find them.” Listening to the information given regarding the town, Travis made a mental note on the key points.

He blinked when Emma spoke, for a split second he had forgotten she was there, but it was Shelder who spoke up, darting his eyes between the two of them, “She can stay if she wasn’t, it’s no big deal. I’m okay with it either way.

He pondered at the question, “I’m thinking we can spend at least 30 to 40 minutes with SG7, then keep a 24 hour window for ours as a max. Make a 12 hours minimum depending on the finds we make. Objections?

Tim shook his head, “No Sir. No objections, sounds like an ok time frame to me. Twenty four hours would mean less medical supplies to carry around. That's good to know, but a nights stay isn't out of the question then. Do we know anything about the locals there, Sir?”
He frowned, “Heck, do we even know if there are any locals?”

              <<Just Want Outta This Place!!>>

Shurgging off the fact that Timmo didn't respond to any of her questions. It was obvious that they all needed to get on track to deal with their assignment. Gathering up the mess strewn before her. She stacked the trays and took the empty dessert bowls. Leaving behind Doc's half empty and T's not even touched.

Making her way to her feet, "Excuse me gents. I think I will go and kick back. Be good boys now, work hard. Have a productive mission, be safe. You will be in my prayers." Sliding the load down to the end of the table she made a flirty grin as she gave T's hair a small ruffle. "Wouldn't want to be a distraction for you Cap." Winking as she lifted the trays and strutted off to dispose of the goods.

Standing at the elevator Emma knew she should need sleep. Her stomach full. For some reason she was just restless. She looked as the lights lit to change floors and then changed her mind. Hitting the stairs she pondered asking for time off. Doubting that would be granted she opted to get some fresh air.

Before he could reply to Tim’s questions, Lu ban had gotten up and about. He nearly rolled his eyes at the comment, but frowned with a loud huff and pulled a face when she disarranged his hair. What was with this woman’s obsession with his locks. He automatically moved to fix them when her back was turned to him. If she turned this into a habit, he might as well as shave his hair off. Just to annoy the crap out of her. On the other hand he would really look like an a$$.

Scowling at her back he turned his attention from Emma to Tim, “For staying we can’t rule that out. We just may consider the idea for now. Who knows what we might find on the planet. No intel was given regarding the locals. Between the General and Commander Thor, they made no mention of the locals.

All I know for now is that the planet is geographically unique for naquadah; with number of volcanoes than I care to count. The sweet part, the gate is expected to be unguarded.
” He grinned, and then a moment later that same uneasy feeling returned ten folds.

Something was clearly wrong, but he knew it had nothing to do with the mission. If it wasn’t for the mission, then why was he receiving this bad omen-ish feeling? Davis was on the base for god sake, last he checked. So he could clearly rule her out; which oddly enough reminded him that he had to hunt her down for some history facts.

Tim got up as LuBan left the table, “See you later Captain,” gave her a nod and then sat down to pay attention to the other at the table.
He looked at Greg, “Yeah, if we’re lucky enough to get hold of a doc to sign the papers, I could do some of the tests and exams and we should be able to be out of there in no time.”
‘Maybe a certain female doc’s still there that owes me a bit…’

Tim took another spoon of the pudding before deciding he’d had enough of it and pushed it away while listening to Oxford, “So hopefully a low action recon mission once we gate to our own destination. When do we leave?”

Lena finished her reply on the first part of Lance's words and went silent for couple of seconds, processing thoughts in her mind.

"OK, let's bring our civilians here and have a chat with them about the mission. I guess Marcus should still be here somewhere..."

She got up and turned around, scanning the mess. Then she waved her hand in the Redd's table direction and faced Tallon again.

"Yes, that coffee addict is still here, and I had time to tell him a few words about the upcoming mission while you were busy chasing Captain Oxford thanks to me... Sorry..." - Scorpio blushed slightly one more time. - "But I've no idea where Doctor Owen could be. More to say, I don't even know what does she looks like."

"Perfect timing, Redd. And the plan is to finally get SG-7 moving with the mission. I suppose that Dr. Shelder is done with the writing that virus, and also I assume that you were briefed in short about our mission by Lieutenant Ovcharenko, so let's go and introduce you to him."

Lance shifted his attention to Elena again.

"And to save some time, you'll brief our archeologist. Use the radio, I told her to keep an ear on it."

He walked to the table where SG-6 was, supposing that Marcus will just follow him without any questions.

Scorpio leaned her hips against the table when her CO left, and reached at her radio, switching it into the transmitting mode.

"Doctor Owen, that's Lieutenant Ovcharenko, SG-7 XO. Please report to the Mess for the mission briefing ASAP..." - The woman quickly looked around and continued. - "I guess I'm the only one woman standing alone next to a table, so you shouldn't have any troubles locating me. Ovcharenko out."

Lena placed the radio back in its place and crossed her arms at the chest, waiting.

Greg was idly tapping his fork, figuring his head a few hours to get through a medical exam on all members, considering the other teams being sent out as well. He noticed a side look from SG-7's leader and that their civilian was present too.

'Good a time as any.' Greg stacked his dishes and made a quick excuse to Travis and Tim. "Be right back, we science geeks need to talk computers and converting .txt files to .exe without causing the program to execute itself on the delivery system and other doodles like that."

He walked to the dish window and isolated the silverware into its water tub. He gave a friendly smile to the poor schlub that was on dish washing before walking back where the two SG-7 members were coming over to them. He got the disk out of his cargo pocket, a non-descript CD-RW in a light red jewel case. "You're probably wanting to know if this is done, it is and I need to talk tech in sort of painful detail with him."

Astra was walking out the door and down the corridor away from the mess hall, when she got a message across her radio. It was from a Lieutenant Ovcheranko, someone she'd never heard of or met before. She sighed, turned around and headed back into the mess.

"Lieutenant Ovcheranko, I'm on my way. I will be there shortly," she reported over the radio.

It wasn't long before Astra was in the mess hall again, and she looked around for a woman standing next to a table. When she spotted a woman standing beside a table by herself, Astra walked over to her.

"Lieutenant Ovcheranko, I presume?" She asked. "I'm Doctor Astra Owen, reporting for duty, Ma'am." Astra offered her hand to the military woman.

The archaeologist shook her head. "Um, no, Lance didn't say anything about a mission. He said he wanted me avaiable to talk to me about something, but that was it. He just came and talked to me not long ago, well more like an interview before joining the team. So, I don't know any details of any missions. I was on the way back to the lab when you radioed me," she answered. "Maybe you could fill me in now without anyone else around?" She asked, with a smile.
