The touchable icons on the screen were meaningless to the redhead, although there was a tiny little white envelope with a strange-looking 'a' somewhere in it. Was that her message ? It had no title, and there was nothing else written on it.

On the request to go get packed, she nodded her head eagerly, still mulling over that symbol. It made her miss the mutterings.

"Uh, yeah, sure. Unless you've not eaten yet, in which case I'll meet you down there ?"

Kym checked her watch and made a face, "No, I was going to eat but, I think I'll hold off. I didn't realize it was already after noon. I'm better off going through the Gate on an empty stomach."
She turned toward the door and waved Ryn to go ahead of her, "It's a blessing that I don't get seasick but I sure do get airsick and gatesick."

"Yeah ok. I don't get seasick, only spacesick... When we flew back here, I threw up when we landed, remember that one ?!" She took a little breath and tried to figure out a subject change, since it was still a fairly embarrassing experience to recall.
"Though, doc said, if you remember while we're on the subject : while I'm on drugs, I am not allowed weaponry. Of any kind. So I guess that also means no zats and stuff," Ryn said, somewhat shrugging. By now she had resigned herself to that idea, knowing that a doctor's order was considered the highest of all orders, since not even the General could change it.

"Guess I'll travel light. Can't carry heavy stuff anyway now." The 'mission' was almost sounding like a vacation, and Ryn grinned a little to herself as her mindset about it changed.
It would make a nice change for once, and she could do without a 'runforyourlife'-one or a 'standintherainforhours'-one. So what would that make for equipment ? Only clothes and basic survival stuff (namely food and food preparation items), barring anything resembling a weapon. She was determined to get things done the way they should, or at the very least in their spirit.

"Going to be quite relaxing, I hope." She said smiling as the duo exited the mess hall.

The word itself suggests fast and quiet operation, but the given objective marks the mission as one of the "Raid for the information and intelligence" type. And Greg is right... rather than we will just get our hands on the information and leave, it'd be nice to leave them a surprise in that mainframe like a nasty virus."

        She met Tallon's eyes.

"Oh, and few last words about Barden, while he's not around. I feel that I pretty much have him in my hands now, so why should I lose such an opportunity? He'll be a good toy to play with." - She rolled her eyes innocently, than focused on Lance again and talked to him in her sweetest possible voice. - "And, with all due respect, Comrade Lieutenant, I just got a feeling that you're a bit jealous. But I think that we can discuss this topic after the mission."

Lena sat into more comfortable position in her chair after she said everything she wanted. Her cold mind of an experienced soldier had immediately taken over her emotions and was already busy choosing gear for the upcoming mission.
Lance had been prepared to further explain the situation to her. That is, until Captain Oxford got into a mood and Lieutenant Ovcharenko overstepped her bounds.

He narrowed his eyes instead, waiting until Greg departed to begin. "If I were actually interested in you, and I'm not saying I am, that would be entirely inappropriate. I don't want your childish infatuation interfering with the mission because you were distracted at just the wrong moment. I want you focused on the task at hand. Understood?"

He took a deep breath, less than thrilled with his XO at the moment. "I am going to go hunt down Captain Oxford. If you so much as move from this spot, I am going to be even more unhappy than I already am."

Getting to his feet, he stormed out of the mess hall, running into the captain sooner than expected. He was chatting up another man--presumably his medic from earlier--and so Lance waited, arms folded across his chest, taking more deep breaths to try and calm himself.

Scorpio's thoughts slowly drifted back to the reality while she was calmly listening to Lance dressing her down. The only one feeling that she felt now was embarassment. She didn't ever respond to his order to stay at the place, giving him instead a sharp, determined nod of clear understanding, like she was afraid to say something wrong again. Her CO stormed out of the mess, leaving her sitting alone at the table. She leaned her elbows against the table and drowned her face in her palms. Elena talked to herself mentally, trying to organise herself.

'What's going with me? I can't remember myself acting like this for a very long time... But I recall something from the psychology course that we had at the academy on this topic. Main reason of my behavior is sudden shock of being an active part of the socium after almost nine month of despair and loneness. It's normal brain reaction to realize all wishes in a row and as fast as possible to cure the desperation. Ok, Lena, you try very hard and gather yourself in one piece, you'll have time for flirting and quarrelling after the job is done... Now get yourself focused on the mission and act yourself as the Russian Military, not like a 17 years old girl!'

Lena looked around. It seemed that this inner monologue lasted for a few seconds only. She shifted position in the chair, and, having finally found the most comfortable position, folded her arms at the chest, looking at the mess hall entrance and waiting. From this time Lieutenant Ovcharenko was going to follow her orders.

Markus watched Lena and Lance curiously from across the mess hall as Markus drank his coffee. Lena just had two COs yell at her and she doesn't look too happy after the fact. 'I should go see whats going on.'

Markus stood up and walked over to Lena. "Hey, why do you look so sad?" Markus said as he slid into the chair next to her and set his coffee cup on the table.

I didn’t really expect you to come running in my direction so soon. So Lieutenant Ovcharenko and you are ready to get this started or I’m only to walk back in there to realise I’m wasting my time?

Ovcharenko was too angry on herself to pay attention at Marcus suddenly sitting down next to her. But his voice brought her back to life.

"Why, why... I'm so sad because it's an awful day, that's why! First I returned to the active service, and then I screwed up mission briefing! Furthermore, I angered our CO and Captain Oxford with my behavior! Nine month of loneness is definetly a kind of stress that no single cold mind can handle." - Elena's irritation ceased a bit as she let the steam out. So she couldn't become so angry at Redd already when she noticed a cup of coffee that Marcus has brought. - "Marcus... What did I say about the coffee? Is this your fourth of fifth cup today? But, if your coffee need brought you back to the mess and to me, I can use it while Lance is trying to find Oxford. Marcus, how good are you with the Goa'uld computer mainframes?"

Markus sighed after he heard what Lena had to say about her day. "Try not to take it too hard. I think maybe Lance and captian oxford are a little bit stressed out because of our upcoming mission."

As Lena talked about his coffee problems, Markus took another drink of coffee. "The stuff they make here is really good. I can't stop myself from getting more. As for the Goa'uld computer mainframe, I never acually touched one before, but in the simulation, I did pretty well. I guess that means I am going to need my computer slate. Why do you ask anyway? "

Now, when the steam was out of her completely, Ovcharenko regained her normal state of mind.

"We all are stressed out, Marcus. I just lost control of myself first time in twenty years. I hope that won't happen again any time soon."

She sneered at the scientist's words about the coffee.

"You know, you're the first one person who I know at this base not to spit every time you think about the local coffee. Almost everyone else find this stuff disgusting. And I can't tell you much about the task at hand, I know little about it myself. The only one thing that I got before quarrelling with everyone around is that we're going to make a raid for intelligence about the Goa'uld and that we're going to hack into the mainframe, download as much information as possible, and leave them a nasty surprise inside of it, replacing original data. Was anything of this covered in your simulation?"

Markus smiled. "People don't like the coffee? Oh well, more for me. The simulation covered everything but the leaving the suprise. I learn things quickly, so it won't take long to learn."

Markus thought about what gear he was going to bring. "I might need some help on picking out my combat gear or whatever I need other than the computer part of it. It is my first mission, so I have no idea what to choose. I hope that is not much of a problem."

"Don't talk about computers with me. I can disassemble AK and assemble it again with my eyes closed in 2 minutes, but I can use computer only to listen to music or play games. I could also easily operate onboard systems of our helicopters and fighters but they aren't here anymore. So, when Greg will come back with his program, discuss details with him. And wait with the gear till mission briefing will end... If we will resume it at all, I mean. I have no idea what I'll use myself at the moment."
