I thought it would be great if we could show the writers and director of Stargate Origins our support and make them feel a part of the stargate family and also welcome them to the stargate family, their twitter handles are @Justimpro (https://twitter.com/Justimpro) (Justin Michael Terry)?, @sgowritermark (https://twitter.com/sgowritermark) ?(Mark Ilvedson), @LadyBryce (https://twitter.com/LadyBryce) (?Mercedes Bryce Morgan).

All three of them seem pretty untested, hopefully they impressed mgm with their script rather than mgm going cheap.

Right now I don't have much faith in this project based off the plot we have been given, in saying that I'll support anything Stargate related so I hope these writers can pull something amazing out of their ass and create something amazing from this. My best wishes are with them.

Official website of M. Bryce Morgan -- Brycemorganfilm.com (https://www.brycemorganfilm.com/)
An introduction to the director of Origins.

Official website for J. Michael Terry -- Justinmichaelterry.com (https://www.justinmichaelterry.com/)

Nothing on Mark Ilvedson -- which I can't say is very inspiring.

But neither are the two above, except perhaps Mercedes. She seems like an interesting catch but not a director I'd associate with a franchise like Stargate. I imagine that's rather tame in comparison to her other work.

The official Stargate Origins Facebook page is up and running. No information that we don't already know but probably a good place for future updates. There is also an official Stargate Origins Fan Discussion page on Facebook.

Actually, now that you mention it, Stargate Origins sounds way better as the name of a game. MMORPG or FPS - Adventure/Scifi -- all platforms.

Do you have a link? I can only see 2 on there and I'm not sure either is official.

Link to where? The Twitter accounts?

Justin @ Twitter (https://twitter.com/Justimpro)

Can't find Mark on Twitter to be perfectly honest. I did find him on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-ilvedson-162452b).

I don't think M.Bryce Morgan is on Twitter either. I came across her name in a tweet about #womendirectors but without an actual @-tag so I'd be careful with the use of that tag before it can be verified. There's also no twitter link on her official website.

Ah, that explains Bryce's missing twitter-link on her offical page. She only just joined the twitter-verse. And Mark is even more wet-behind-the-twitter ears -- joined july 2017.

Considering when I google Stargate Command I don't even get the MGM site as a first hit (or on the first page), I'm going to let him give you the FB link.

i think that he means this page, https://www.facebook.com/StargateOrigins2017/ in their first post they claim to be an official page.

According to MGM (via the link on http://stargate.mgm.com/), this is the official Stargate fanpage for everything stargate including Origins: https://www.facebook.com/officialstargate/

And the official twitter page can be found here: https://twitter.com/stargatecommand

I doubt, therefor, that the above FB-page is official in any capacity. Why would MGM feel the need to add 2017? Or put a link in there to another discussion-group which is members-only? That makes no sense for an official page.

Yeah, they look like fan run pages to me. Thanks anyway :)

Yes after looking back it doesn't look very official. The first couple of posts were not very well written. There were also "5 star" ratings for the show with fake reviews. I clicked on the Facebook logo on MGM's website for the new Origins show and it took me directly to the Official Stargate Fanpage. Looks to be a fan site...Indeed!

I've been pretty negative about SGO, but I don't want that to show lack of support to the writers, cast and crew. They're given a budget to work within, and they have to write and produce something that will work on that budget.

It's not *their* fault that the budget was clearly so small as to make it look like a fanfic.

I'd love to know how much was spent on SGO, and I'm betting the writers/cast/crew worked miracles within those guidelines.

Congratulations to all involved.

Unless the jewelry was on loan, it was expensive in and of itself. This single nose piece costs $444 USD:

The budget was the biggest issue... We provided 2 screen accurate Ra Pendants but they decided to use a non-accurate hero version instead used ours as STUNT versions? Guess they thought the other one looked cooler? There were serious budget issues for sure! Not really sure why MGM did not give them bit more of budget but think they did good job for the most part, I would changed few things for sure, but was fun mini web series for sure!

What was the difference?

Mind you: I don't live in any of the 6 chosen countries who could watch it, so I don't know what what the pendant looked like in the first place -- not the Origins one at least.
