well, definitely gory. It earns that for this week's battle.

But i gotta say it, TV writers know how to write poetic endings.
I would say rest in peace Ramsay Bolton, but really it's rest in pieces...and well deserved at that.

Too bad Rickon had to die, but really, the kid has been a plot hole since book one (and was that really rickon? I mean yeah, sure probably with his wildling escort but would anyone really recognize him?)

I won't disagree that the show has had its misogynictic streaks but there's some real girl power going on this week. Dany in charge, Asha (or whatever her name is, Theon's sister) and now Sansa.

And am I imagining things or is the sibling love between Jon and Sansa holding the potential for something else? I mean, we all know he's really NOT Ned's son, so there's no Cersei/Jamie going on.

Yes well, Dany is back with a vengeance. I like the way her enemies always seem to think she is seeking to surrender to them, when will they learn I wonder? I just hope with all her fire-breathing dragons she didn't burn all the fleet.
Theon & Yara timed their appearance well, waiting till Dany got back. And Yara is going well with this 'all girls together' approach to get what she wants.
Yes, it was a shame Rickon had to die, but he had sort of drifted out of the picture & didn't seem to have much bearing on the story.
It was good of Littlefinger to turn up, & just when all seemed lost. (I have to wonder if he was hiding behind the hill waiting for the right moment) But what is he after now, he never does anything without there being something in it for him.
Arya must be having a stress break after all her trials & tribulations last episode, I was not expecting her to turn up for the battle, but I thought Brienne might have made an appearance.
Last episode next week, & from the title it looks like Winter is finally coming, then we have a cold wait till next year.

A fitting way for Ramsey to end. Half the time I was watching the battle with my hands over my eyes, cringing. Brutal, but brilliant directing. Poor Rickon -- I knew he was doomed. I was afraid that Thormond was going to die, but I'm glad that he didn't; I like him. Now he can go back to making google eyes at Briene when she shows up. I wonder what Davros is going to do now that he knows what happened to Shireen? Same guy who directed Battle/Bastards is directing the last episode -- I wonder how or if he's going to top this one.

I kind of loved this episode. I thought the battle with Ramsay was extremely well done. I felt bad for Jon when he saw Rickon get hit with the arrow. I had a feeling Littlefinger was going to show up, since I thought Sansa sent him a letter a few eps ago (though that could've just been the letter she wrote to the Blackfish, but I thought it was to Littlefinger for some reason), and he hadn't been around for awhile. I think Ramsay's death was quite fitting. Sansa seems to have gotten really cold, which is understandable given everything she's been through and the people she's had to deal with. I'm really looking forward to the season finale next week.

As much as I loved this episode, the battle itself was predictable, apart from Ramseys strategy.
Great directing for the battle, but I think Hardhome tops it...

Yeah I'm wondering if the books will see Sansa killed off and see Lady Stoneheart go to the Wall instead. It actually would make great sense in terms of story. Cat could never forgive Jon in life but maybe with the whole of House Stark on the line she is able to finally see that he deserves to be Warden of the North... even though we technically know (probably) that he isn't actually a Stark as such.

It was awesome to see Dany kicking some serious ass again. Wonder where all the Dothraki were? Did she expalin that? Did I miss something?

The Dothraki rode on the city gate where the Sons of the Harpy were didn't they?

Must admit, I loved the opening scene with Dany. Was shot very well.

Wonder what Sir Davos will do now that he knows what happened to Shareen (was that the girls name?)

Definitely going to be rewatching this episode again a few times.

Yes, I believe so too which is probably why he asked Melisandre not to bring him back if he fell.

I so wanted Sansa to finish off Ramsay herself especially after Jon stopped pounding on him when he saw her watching but I was satisfied with the dog dinner.

Well it is kinda poetic considering he murdered his step mother and her newborn infant with those dogs.

As much as Sansa wanted him dead, I don't know if she could have with her bare hands or even with a weapon. But his own ruthlessness and cruelty did him in. I figured he'd turn those dogs on Rickon but probably didn't think he could control them and they'd turn on his own men or run away.

If he hadn't been such a cruel bastard those dogs wouldn't have killed him. They are what he made them.

I'm pretty sure they were his. He said something about 'my dogs would never hurt me' to which sansa replies 'but you haven't fed them for 7 days' or something like that.

I guess everything's his in Winterfell since he's lord of the whole joint but the fact that they have a kennelmaster suggests he's not the one who raised & trained them personally
