    The Iliad and its fate.

    Hi there all,
After re-watching season 2 of A.o.S, The fate of the Iliad bugged me and made the US D.O.D look like incompetent fools.
Here is my train of thought:- Given that the ship is a somewhat modified Nimitz class Aircraft Carrier the US government and allied governments should have known of it's existence because of the Billion dollar price tag.
How after the fall of SHIELD did US and allied forces forget about the ship??

Shouldn't the proper response from the US and allied governments be:-
    1. Using their satellite surveillance capabilities to ascertain if the ship is still afloat?? [I believe the US D.O.D has real time location information on all deployed Carriers]
    2. Keep the ship under satellite surveillance,
    3. Direct the closest Carrier Strike Group to intercept the ship.
    4. The orders for the strike group would be I think to either A. Board and take control of the ship/arrest all personnel onboard and escort the ship to closet naval base that can handle the Nimitz class under the guard of the strike group, or B. Sink the ship if the crew refuses to heave too and prepare the be boarded.
    5. If the use of a carrier group was deemed to expensive the deployment of several LA/Virginia class attack subs to hunt the ship down and sink her??

This question is to you guys and girls what would have been the true response from the government and the navy be, given the fact they would have known that SHIELD had this ship??

Even if it is US built it doesn't necessarily mean they're ,keeping close tabs on it since SHIELD had a hell of a lot of autonomy before the fall. One can also assume it employs some form of stealth technology. Maybe not a cloak, but something that would keep it off the scopes.
Please do me a huge favour and help me be with the love of my life.

Plus, since it was owned by Shield who's to say they didn't also build it.
