My thoughts on S9 and SGA

    Hi Guys,

1st time I am posting here, so be nice to me ok.

Well I was having some ideas on what is going to happen in S9. We all have seen SGA has a few overlapping plot lines, which I believe we all love. Now if the writers build on that, which I think they most certainly will, we could have a much bigger arc and story.

So this is my Theory, bear with me on the length of it, it was running through my head for a long time. I have done my best to keep it Spoiler free.

10,000 years ago, before Atlantis left, it was discovered that the plague was not purely a disease but a result of living in this particular galaxy for too long. It was found that as a galaxy gets older, it was able to support more life, but these life forms would take a much longer time to evolve and races which evolved faster than the galaxy natural process, found themselves facing extinction through their inability to reproduce.

The Asgard and the Ancients were facing similar problems, but while the Asgard had only just started to feel the effects, the Ancients on the other hand had some 5,000 years before they would become extinct. The Asgard turned to cloning to solve their problems, while the Ancients decided it was time to leave the Milky way.

They had sent scout ships to many galaxies in the hope of finding a suitable home for them to start anew. During those many years of exploration, the largest of the Ancient Cities begin their conversation to Giant Space Ships to help move their population to another Galaxy. There were 3 major cities that was to be converted for the long journey, Atlantis, Babylon and Eden.

3 Galaxies were found suitable for colonization, the Ancients decided to divided their great fleet as well as their 3 cities to each galaxy, ensuring that if one were to fail, the others would hopefully survive.

On that very day (SGA esp 1), the last city, Atlantis took off to join the escort fleet of 500,000 ships on its journey to its new home.

During those 10,000 yrs, the cities lost contact with each other and they all thought each other had failed.

The folks in Atlantis as we know, came under the attack of the wraith and returned to earth to die and then ascend Babylon was destroyed while on route to their new home. Eden established themselves well, and build a thriving society, but soon faced a serious problem.

Eden was effectively technological stagnant for 10,000 yrs, as it concentrated it efforts on colonization, however being in a very young galaxy, there were few planets it could colonize. Civil unrest soon began and Eden was turned into a living Hell. When the dust settled, they had lost a great deal of their advance technology and had become sort of a warrior race, due to thousands of years of fighting.

The last of Eden's population gathered embark on a desperate journey to find the Asgard, hopping that the path of cloning might save them from the mistakes they made. They however became a changed race, they had learn to take what they want by force, and when they reached the Asgard they would take the cloning technology by force.

Current time line for SG-1 S9 and SGA S2

Atlantis has secured the star system it is in from the Wraith. SGC approves the construction of a fleet of X-303s for earths defense.

The Ancients of Eden descend upon the asgards, still being technological superior, they easily over whelmed the Asgard defenses. Thor and the Asgard council, flee in whatever ships they can to earth, the only place the Ancients of Eden dare not go. While the people of Eden did find the cloning technology, they also found extensive research on their 2nd swarm, the humans. They soon discovered that the Ancients of Atlantis returned to Earth introducing their DNA into the human population, this create a breed of Ancients who could survive on Earth, they wanted it.

The remaining Asgard forces turned to Earth for asylum, but Earth had no place they could put up with a million Asgard safely. A decision was made to ask them to go to Atlantis, where they had enough space, for the Asgard people to stay and at the same time they could help decipher the ancient database to save themselves.

SGC contemplated how to deal with the new threat. Teal'c convinces the Jaffa people to provided a small fleet of ships to the defense of Earth , while the X-303 fleet production increased, and here we have a setting for the S9 of SG-1

Over at SGA, the Asgard are welcomed and their ships take orbit over the planet to protect the city. It was found that although they had a ZPM, the shield's activation requires several minutes to activate, and the Asgard ships would be needed to provided additional power support to the shield in combat, as they still need more power to sink the city. With the Asgard safety ensured, they went to open the Ancients' database in the area of genetic manipulation in order to solve their cloning problems. Thor, makes trips between Earth and Atlantis, to support Earth and ferry supplies to and forth.

    What do you guys think?

just wondering where you came up with names of eden and babalon? Is there any historical background which could link them to atlantis history?

Only thing is Atlantis did not leave 10000 years ago. It was around 10000 years ago that they were losing against the wraith and decided to return to earth.

Interesting idea, but WAY too detailed to be anywhere close to accurate.

I like it, although your punctuation and sentence structure leaves much to be desired.

It'd make a good story though.

Well Eden being something bibical in nauture could also reference to the 1st city of the anicents. Adam and eve could have merely be the 1st Outcasts?

Honsetly, the reason why I choose Babylon was I could not think of any other name. I was thinking about a city in China, to reflect that they like us came from all parts of the planet.

That would be my mistake, I got the numbers a little off.

Can I ask how I am off? I made some typing mistakes, but I am rather sure it fits in nicely.

We know that this is a problem from the clonning programmes they started, but there is nothing to suggest why they switched to clonning.

I would guess it has to do with their immortality, via cloning and transferrance of consciousness.

ineteresting idea. The connection I see is that the three cities are all ancient civilizations that were advanced. Although, Eden is a bit to recent for them to have left at the same time. If you add up all the time in the bible, it only acounts for like 7 to 8 thousand years of time. Perhaps that city is where the story of eden came from, just like the return of the Alantis ancients is where the story of atlantis came from. Other then that, the idea is cool and maybe worth exploring in detail in a fanfic.

                              Thats the thing.

Why do all the asgards look alike? are they all in the same body from a DNA point of view, and their minds alter the brain chemistry to support the personallity it was with.

We do know that asgard DNA is design to grow a full Asgard in a few months. We also know that clonning requires a sample to begin with. IF all the asgards are the same DNA, it would be logical in the context of their cloning problem, because if they all had different DNA, it would be a matter of creating a clone body which could reproduce naturally.
