Apparently, episode 20 of season 9 is being setup as a backdoor pilot for a possible spinoff of Supernatural. The episode will introduce a new character who would then anchor the city-set spinoff.
Since there are several different sites reporting this, i didn't want to post a link. Just look up Supernatural spinoff.
Anyhoo - more stuff on the upcoming season. http://supernatural-fandom.com/artic...poiler-update/
Personally, I'm very excited to see that they are delving into the MOL background. They've already done the Campbell family stuff, now to see even more of the Winchester family history seems like an exciting storyline.

Yes, that it does. I would love to know more about the Winchester family!
I think the whole "Dean sees the bunker as home, while Sam sees it as work" makes sense. Sam has had many real homes where he was able to be himself - Stanford w/ Jess, Texas w/ Yawnmelia, Dean as a constant protector/parental figure no matter where they were; whereas since he was 4 years old Dean really has only had one permanent "home" (not counting the Impala): the one year w/ Lisa, and even then it was more of a facade for him because he wasn't really able to be himself while there. I can see how it makes more sense for them to view the bunker that way in their own respective points of view.
