View Full Version : Juliette Silverton-Bitsie Tulloch-Thread

I thought a couple of weeks now we also need some threads for the actresses. Especially Bitsie's Juliette, who now have a loooong storyarc (I only wish it would lead to something *better* for her than to leave Nick ...).

So, I have to say, don't know why but I really like her and the way she's acting, and also how active she is on Twitter and the pics she's posting there. Tell me, I used a couple of them for making art *whistles innocently*. And I think if TPTB would have any idea with her, Juliette would be a really awesome and strong female character - just like I see Rosalee too (and now no one is wondering why I'm slashing these both, huh?).

But ... just stumbled over this tweet:

Hey guys out of surgery. still pretty out of it but thank you all for the prayers and crossed fingers :)

She had an eye-surgery? What happened? Anyone?

Yes, in November she wrote following:

Just left eye surgeon. Looks like 99% chance will have to remove ICLs. First patient to remove in 13 years he's been doing surgery #nobueno

and this she wrote on December 4th

Eye surgery tomorrow & bc of anesthesia can't eat or drink anything not even h2o past midnight. which means I'm on my way to in-n-out burger

Hmm, an intersting thread :D You know my opinion about Juliette and that I think her and Nick breaking up was the best thing that could happen. Also, for her character. When (or if) she stops being just a damsel in distress or a love interest, she could be a character of her own. I am not sure if making her a vet was an intention (like that she could help) but according to Bitsie, in the following episodes they shot, she won´t spend much time doing doctor stuff.

I am not sure if I understood that right, but in one of the deleted scenes from Season 1, in a very early episode (maybe even the Pilot), it looked like she worked in a café. Maybe they changed it and decided to make her a vet later? Maybe I got that scene wrong but it looked like she worked there.

Anyway, for Nick´s sake, I think it would be much helpful for her to be a lawyer so she could help with cases and get Nick out of trouble (where he will get eventually)

I just watched that scene (since I just bought the DVD's). It definitely looked like she worked in the cafe, that she was meeting Nick at. Especially since he made some comment about them being slow today. maybe they decided to have her be a vet, so that she would have something to do that can end up dealing with the wesen world.

I totally agree that breaking up with Nick is probably best for both the characters. I hope that she will become a character of her own, not just someones love interest.

 Yeah, I know, Klenotka, and I think you know point of view ;). I think about this character we will never be the same mind ...
Yeah, I watched that scene too. It was a deleted scene from the Pilot. I think they cut it out and decided to give Juliette a "better job" because ... well, I don't know many people working at a cafe/restaurant who are enjoying to cook or cleaning up the house. It would have been a little bit too much into this "housewife"-thing TPTB had already put Juliette in. A vet is a different thing, she simply has to be clever only to become one (as far as I know also US has a limit you have to fullfill before you can study vet-medicine). Dealing with the Wesen-World ... well, I would say probably she would have more to do with Wesen as a waitress than as a vet. As Monroe said in 1.21 Wesen and pets aren't the best friends.
I'm more wondering what kind of Vet she is. In 1.06 we saw her with that doggy from the neighbour, in 1.21 she's the one that rancher called and she herself mentioned in 1.02 that she has to go because of another dog, she had to do a surgery with. As far as I know (two vets in the family *blushes*) there are two fields vets have to specialist for/in: pet-vets (dogs, cats, birds, etc.) and farm animal-vets (horses, cows, pigs, etc.). Still wondering what kind Juliette is ...
About the relationship(s) ... I'm still a Nick/Juliette-shipper, sorry. Yes, I saw that chemistry between her and Renard too but I loved Nick and her together in season 1 and - when they have to break up, I would prefer a "better" end of this relationship than as the revenge of a Hexenbiest, a coldblooded Nick and a Juliette hard on the edge of going nuts. I still think she could be helpful for Nick IF he finally would be decide to tell her the truth. I don't buy that Adalind will leave Juliette alone because Nick broke up with her. Without any protection Juliette is now really in danger - much more because Adalind can hurt both, Nick and Renard, with hurting (or killing) her.

look, i'm reasonable enough not to expect every single character on television to be Olivia Pope or Peggy Olson, but this character is whack. just whack. the last thing real-life damsels in distress need to see on television is a fictional damsel in distress.

and so much damage has been done to this character in S2, that i think if they changed her personality/decision-making and thinking process in S3, it would come off too weird, like a forced twist, lacking of consistency. and if they're going to focus on a female character, i'd rather see more of Rosalee-the-ex-Junkie (it rhymes) and her Wesen Council thing anyway.

also, there's something rather "uppity" about her... i don't want to use the word "uppity" (because of the historical aspects of that word, not because it's un-PC, but just because it probably sounds a bit too mean) but i can't find a better word to describe Juliette. feel free to blame me and my [lack of] English fluency for not coming up with a better synonym. not that i relate to Rosalee in any way, but i'd rather go out and have coffee with Rosalee (actually Adalind seems like fun for a clubbing buddy too).

when it comes to being uppity, there were characters who were written to actually BE uppity, like the girl in the Black Forest 2 episode who couldn't bother to remember the IT dude's name, forgot to give him credit, AND stood him up. and you still can't help feel bad for her like you'd feel bad for Sheila Birling. you just want to give the Black Forest 2 girl a hug (because you KNOW she's learned her lesson) and all you can say is, "just promise you won't do that again." basically you feel bad for her FOR being bad.

Tess Cole from The River was also very unlikable, but at least her lack-of-likability served a purpose.

but with Juliette, i don't even think i can go clubbing with his woman. i think there was a scene with her at a bar with her girlfriends (so, yes, she is capable of making friends), but then the first thing i can think of is, "oh, are those your wingmen/little minions, Juliette?" she's like that girl in school that looks for "followers" instead of "friends", like a saccharine sweet Regina George, if that makes sense? i wish i didn't hate her so much. but it's almost like i'm "wired" to dislike her, like it's in my blood, like a Montague, and i hated her even more after the Musai episode. it doesn't feel good to be so consumed by hatred. just can't bring myself to like her. sorry.

PS: again, i'm sorry i keep using that terrible word. i think it's because i'm learning multiple languages simultaneously and it's making me forget part of my English vocabulary, like yesterday i said "rebuff" instead of "debunk", IDK what's wrong with me. if someone has a nicer synonym for "uppity"? please?

I don't think so. After rewatching season 2 completely I'm the complete opposite. Juliette grew during the season, true, slowly, very, very slowly and sometimes you only wanted to hit her straight in the face. But she went out of all the trouble stronger than she was before. I only hope they won't change her back into your mentioned Damsel again. She could feel responsible for what happened to Nick and could decide to go away or never get involved into Nick's second life again. Both won't work as Grimm is still using fairytale-bases. Juliette is Nick's big love. In fairytales there are only one big true love, so I doubt it would work - it could put Nick on the edge again.

Her character did develop. I would like to see her decide not to be directly involved in the grimm stuff (well as much as she can when shes still dating one), but still be there for Nick. And a good scene with her and Nick double dating with Rosilee and Monroe :).

Just the opposite. I would love to see her kicking ass. Juliette is more than a whiny chick, and now she has a chance to show.

Parkland premieres as directtoTV-movie in Germany:

Airdate and a little synopsis (http://hyndara71.livejournal.com/188827.html)

As it's primetime and ProSieben is partly airing 2Channels the chance is high that you also can watch original instead of dubbing. So far I've no infos about that.

I want to know if the rumours are true about Bitsie Tulloc leaving the show. They s a I'd she wanted out at the start of this past season. It makes sense that they end season 4 like they did.

I hope so. I don't have anything against the actress but I got so sick of Juliette this season and what they had her do wasn't forgivable (destroying the trailer, almost killing Monroe and threatening everyone else). I hope the character is gone and stays that way.
