What if: two movies, what do you want to see?

SG-1 got two movies, and that allowed for more than enough resolution to loose ends.
    The Ark of Truth
    Spoiler:
We learned that the Ori were indeed killed by the Sangraal. Morgan La Fay was able to stop Adria when the Priors, soldiers, and followers of the Ori were exposed to the truth via the ark. The replicators came back for one last hurrah due to IOA insanity. This also showed that the Asgard core has been studied and can be used to do things like create a replicator. The Ori ships, Priors, and soldiers went home. Vala said goodbye to Tomin. There was a lot of resolution in this short movie.

    Continuum
    Spoiler:
The timeline was restored, and both present-day surviving Ba'al's are gone. The original went back to 1939 to be slayed by Mitchell from another timeline. The last surviving clone was extracted and executed.

There were a lot of nagging loose ends, but the Ori and Ba'al were the big ones.

Now, this makes me wonder... if SGA had two movies filmed back-to-back before everything got sold or auctioned off, what would you have liked to have seen? To those who wanted to see Extinction happen, what would you choose if there was only going to be one more movie?

We've talked endlessly about the proposed Extinction movie that never was. Let's talk about any kind of movie ideas we can imagine. I want to keep this limited to two movies. No cliffhanger endings to the first, the idea is to draw in new viewers while wrapping up loose ends for old timers.

It would be nice to see what they are doing with the novels - The Legacy Series, in movie format. Although I doubt they could condense all of that into a 2-2.5hr film. Even with cutting the fluff. But I'd love to see this into film. (Or if I ignore the rules/guidelines then OP said, have it be a 6-12 part mini series/web series)

Extinction - I would have liked to see the Atlantis team return to the Peagsus Galaxy and deal with the aftermath of the season five finale. There is a lot they could have worked with, from the wraith to other enemies taking up a stronghold because they left. Perhaps have them for return to see then Wraith are virtually extinct, by a bigger more terrifying enemy, than the Wraith. I seem to remember Weir after she was captured by the Asurans, mention something more wicked lies in wait.

            Here's my SGA movie ideas.

For the first movie, I would keep a part of the plot that Malozzi published on his blog. However, I would change it a little bit. Instead of the countdown being the sole reason of returning the city back to the Pegasus Galaxy, I would use an additional reason. Also, the Stargate program would have already gone public by the start of the events of the fitst SGA movie.

Here's the synopsis. I'm going to be using the original intended movie tittle, since it's already there.

            Stargate: Extinction, Part I
A fleet of Wraith seed ships attack Earth. The entire SGC (or Homeword Command) is now aware that the Wraith have awaken and have returned. This leads either O'Neill, Daniel, Sam or (whoever would be incharge of the main Earth's Stargate command center at the time) to recruit John Sheppard and his team. John, Teyla, Ronnon, McKay, Backett, Woosley and dr. Keller are summoned to the SGC (i.e. HC).
McKay reveals that they have moved Atlantis to somewhere else for safety reasons a couple of months after the events in "Enemy at the Gate" and that the city is no logner on Earth. Atlantis is on a secret location now, in some other Galaxy on some abandoned sea-like planet, it's completely shut-down and empty so it can't be traced. However, the city Stargate (in the rest of the text, simply "gate") is still operational, because it's connected to anoter power source, allowing the team to return to Atlantis. Meanwhile, the Wraith sense that someone is on Atlantis and their radars catch a city gate being used, but luckily, McKay and Backett have put special system in place which doesn't allow the Wraith to get the city's exact location right away, giving the team more time to bring the city back to Pegasus. Beckett starts activating the main controls, but accidentally ends up finding a self-destruction system by activating it due to a prior system malfunction. The team now has 16 hours to deactivate the system, but are unsuccessfull and end up splitting the the time in half. McKay goes trough the Atlantis's database and finds out the city was never ment to leave Pegasus and the only way to stop the countdown is to bring it back to Pegasus.
They attempt to do it the same way they used to bring it back to Earth, but the city refuses to move. With only less than 7 hours left, our heroes find themselves on a mission which includes the rescue of an old friend.

            Stargate: Extinction, Part II
The team brings the entire expedition back onboard Atlantis. John takes Teyla, Ronnon and Beckett along with members of other SG teams back to Asuran planet. They are corenred and captured by the Asurans. Meanwhile, the Wraith seed ships reach Atlantis and fire a couple of warning shots and send out a message to the expedition that they have 24 hours to surrender and hand the city over to them. It is revealed that Todd is now the leader of the last remaining fleet of the Wraith. Back on the Asuran planet, our heroes are inside a prision cell and are torutured by the leaders of the Asurans. They present the team with the real body of their friend, dr. Elizabeth Wier, which is trapped in an container. John tries to open the container, but is shot by one of the Asurans. Then one of them opens the body container and says: "Take a good look at your friend, because this shall be the last time you'll ever see her again!". The container is closed and the Asurans leave the prision cell. One hour later, an Asuran comes back and unlocks the call, telling the team to take her body and leave.
The team is escorted to the location of Elizabeth's body and they take it with them trough the Stargate.
Back on Atlantis, McKay re-unites Elizabet's mind with her body and she is finally revived and treated by dr. Keller for any infections and viruses. However, with only 30 minutes left on the countdown, there isn't much time to return Atlantis back to Pegasus, at least not with the existing methods. Elizabeth offers to try and stop the countdown, but only ends up accelerating it. The self-destruction system completes the countdown and the city explodes. The Wraith retreat, thinking that the City of the Ancients has been destroyed by its occupants. However, that's not the case. Atlantis is back in Pagasus Galaxy, the countdown has been successfully cancelled, thanks to dr. Beckett sitting in the Ancient chair, whishing the the self-destruct mechanisem wast a time-bomb, but rahter a teleporting system. After doing an further inspection of the self-destruct system, it is revealed that the system is actually a "copy-teleport system": in a situation like the one with the Wraith seed ships, it allows the city to create an image of itself, teleports the city to safety and sets the image to destroy itself after a while, making the enemy to believe that the city has been destroyed. Meanwhile, with a delay, Todd senses the presence of John Sheppard on the Asuran planet. The Wraith storm the planet, but only find the dead bodies of the Asurans on it. A Wraith finds a wired looking ball on a dead body of one of the Asurans, not realising that the ball is the reason for their death. Todd recoginzes the ball as being a carrier for a well-spread space virus that can affect all alien species and orders his servant to immediatelly drop it.

A couple of months later, Elizabeth visits the Asuran planet with Sheppard's team, only to find the decomposed bodies of the Asurans and the Wraith... and of course, John somehow recognises the decomposed body of his former ally and friend, Todd the Wraith.

Beckett turns to MacKay and says: "We won! I can't believe it!"
McKay replies: "Sure... and now what?!"
John answers: "Let's go home and watch some Star Treck. I brought some DVDs with me. How many laptops do we have?"
Beckett: "You do realise that you need only 1 to wahch those?"

The entire team turns and looks at John in a confused way. They then look at each other for a moment, before dialing the gate back Atlantis. The End.

              I'd have Carson get superpowers.

I like the idea, but I've always viewed SG as a TV show that was something more than a traditional superhero TV show. But yeah, the Ancient genes thing can be theoretically viewed as having superpowers, so I'd have no complaints if the writers would decide to make a further use of the Ancient genes in their series characters.

Yeah, like they gave every human who came into contact with kryptonite superpowers.

That was one ep and McKay didn't even become psychotic.

You had me liking it up to this part. A 'teleport' copy? Not even Merlins device had that level of power.

Well, given that some of Atlantis was still left unexplored by the cancellation of the series, I had to come up with my own stuff. We've seen the city fly in SGA. We've seen it fight Wraith ships too in the series finale. We've seen it come up from the bottom of the sea, change planets, sink again, re-rise up from the sea... The only thing that wasn't demonstrated in the TV show was a copy-teleport system. Besides, I read on Malozzi's blog (I know, I must be getting really boring for everyone with the constant references to it) that the supposed Extinction movie was going to have a self-destruct system be the reason for returning Atlantis back to Pegasus. Then the wormhole drive would malfunction and I remember Malozzi clearly saying in one of his blog entries that the Extincition movie was going to involve some sort of time travel, if I remember correctly. I wish I would have the link to the entry, but sadly, I didn't save it. I'm pretty sure that the entry is still there, it just needs to be found.

Anyway, I didn't like the idea of a ticking-down clock being the only reason for the expedition to bring the city back to the Pegasus Galaxy. So instead of using that idea, I came up with my own and because of that, I was able to come up with my own story.

Now to explain the copy-teleport system: the Ancients built it along with some other super-advanced race, which is now extinct. However, the Ancients never used it because they didn't need to and so didn't the super-advanced race that they worked with. They didn't even make a note of it in the city's database. I imagine a scene where McKay comes up with the explanation that the Ancients had predicted the situation they were in, so they had themselves working with a super-advanced race on a device that was much more powerful than Merlin's device and was built into the city and camouflaged as a self-destruct device. This would really explain why every possible villain force wanted it for itself or wanted it gone, if it (the city) was a threat to it (the villain force). Also, the Ancients predicting humans on Atlantis in the distant future would make a great plot, because that would give another possible reason for the producers to bring them back, which would open possibilities for even more interesting and epic stories... like humans working with the Ancients and vice-versa.

And pray tell who were this 'super advanced race' the ancients were supposed to have worked with to make it?
