Do the wraith have the reproduction ability ? ( Spoiler Discussion)

After reading the recaps of The Gift and the episode sounds intriguing I am curious
    Spoiler:
what does that mean for Teyla and could she carry a Wraith Child ?

The Wraiths are horrendous but do they have the ability for reproduction ?
I enjoy SGA but think the Wraith need more exploration
    Spoiler:
and think the concept making Teyla with the way of Wraith conception
would be interesting or am I crazy ? LOL

As I understand it, they evolved on a single planet with the life sucking bugs and ended up populating the entire galaxy and outnumbering the Ancients a gazillion to one. They had to hit those numbers somehow, so I assume reproduction in some form or another occurs.

They only became a threat once the ancients came to pegasus, they awoke them. Also the ancients spread life in the pegasus galaxy. So my guess is that wraith use humans much like Aliens in the movie "Aliens" do... they then must continue to feed off humans or other life to survive. So the more life created the more teir numbers jumped.

[Oglethorpe has built a copy of the Stargate]
        Emory: Isn't that the Starga—

Oglethorpe: NO! It is the FARGATE! It is not some other kind of gate from a movie or TV show that I've never seen! Notice that it has a wheelchair and a pink mohawk? We're not getting sued!

        Emory: But it—

Oglethorpe: No, it is a Fargate! From the makers of Thindependence Day!

The species has both male and female members, which means that they do reproduce sexually. But since the males far out number the females, it seems the female is able to have a whole lot of offspring (I’m not going to say eggs cause there’s been no evidence of that, but I’m leaning toward eggs myself.)

I'm theorizing that they are like bees, but with some differences. They may have more than just the one queen to reproduce, but I think the Wraith start as "larvae" and don't surface until they are at a certain stage, almost adult. You sure don't see any young kid Wraith running around, atleast we haven't been shown anything like that yet... The bee thing kind of makes sense as we have seen the equivelant of "drones" in those masked Wraith that we kill a lot of--kind of like Jaffa footsoldiers. And they call their mother ships "hive" ships. In the Rising Part 2, when they awoke, it showed them in honeycomb like spaces...

While humans are animal based, the Wraith are obviously insect based in their evolution, as proven in 38 Minutes.

              What do you guys think?

As far as that Teyla thing, I don't know how the writers are going to explain that.

Ya, and this would be consistent with them being partially insectoid. They seem to have genders, like humans, so I bet they can reproduce sexually...but like...ewwww...don't wanna picture that, do ya? Nope. Thought not!

Good analysis, dude. Right on point. You are probably right and did a good job explaining this.

we dont actually know that they are male and femal. the red haired keeper was played by a female actor, but we actually dont know if it was female in our sense of gender. for all we know the wraith we have seen so far are asexual.

just because they look like breasts, doesnt mean they serve the same function. she is an alien from another galaxy who evolved from bugs, its a mistake to try to apply our biology to theirs

Then why was, I'll use the term "it", so different from all the other Wraith we have seen? Why did it have such a "feminine" appearance. Even it's voice sounded feminine. Why would they make it so feminine looking if they weren't intending that?

In the Behind the Stargate feature, actors and such referred to it as a female Wraith.

ok ok ok, look im not saying she wasnt "feminine", she was played by a femal actor, so she had feminine characteristics. what im saying is, the wraith seem to have a much more complex gender structure than we do and it may be hasty to apply our gender terms and roles to them. they have the drones which most people seem to agree are asexual, gender neutral. we have seen the leader wraith's like steve and bob and the ones in in the finale, that apear male, and we have seen the keeper wraith who apeared female. but we still dont have a clear picture of how their society is structured or how they reproduce. personally i think it would be really awesome if TPTB would explore having the wraith's reproduction and sexuality be radically alien, instead of just using our species as a basis. personally i think all the wraith we have seen so far are neutral and the higher level wraith that were in hibernation, either breed, or there is a queen that lays all the eggs or larvae like bees. i dont have any actual proof, other than the fact that TPTB have made inferences several times by using bee-like terms.
