There's no NGC number for the Pegasus Galaxy. There are however, other designations for it ---> Link.

The 'real' Pegasus galaxy is nowhere near to the Milky Way, and in fact there are other galaxies in between. However, the Small Magellanic Cloud is approximately in the same position as the "Pegasus" galaxy in stargate. So if you construe the term "Pegasus" as the Ancient name and not the Earth name you have a feasible answer. Otherwise the writers just pulled a name off the list and didn't bother to look on the map for where it was.

Small Magellanic Cloud is lower left.

Pegasus is lower right past the Triangulum Galaxy.

Most characters in SGA said that the Pegasus Galaxy was a dwarf galaxy that was 3 million lightyears away from the Milky Way. Does that match the distance of any dwarf galaxies in the Local Group?
