one of the few episodes (or the only one?) where we see Renard taking an active role in the investigation

You know what? It's my favourite ep in season 1. I like the way the story goes and
how's Nick learning how Wesen are tend to see human. *points to sigpig* Baked beans anyone? Especially after explaining about tentricals using as Viagra for Wesen ?
I really hope we will see a bit more about the Geier and how they are related to the Wesen-world. Renard seemed to me not too pleased to have Geiers around. Just compare his reactions here to what happens in 1.12 Last Grimm Standing. There he was involved, here ... I don't think. To me this looked more like he was really pissed to have Geiers around in the Portland area.

maybe I did not express myself correctly; in this episode we see him not just giving orders and having the others doing the job, but he goes along with them and actively shoots one of the criminals
