Sci Fi and Fantasy Filim and Television Soundtracks. Who is your favourite composer?

    Hello there.
Here is a question for you.
Who are your favourite Science Fiction and Fantasy Film and Television composers?
Yes in this thread you can have more than one.

To start us off here are a few of mine. Or should I say the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

    John Barry
    John Williams
    James Horner
    Jerry Goldsmith
    Joel Goldsmith
    David Arnold
    Vangelis

I have to admit to having a large collection of film and tv soundtracks.
    So it's over to you.

Thank you for your reply Digi.
I see a couple of familar names on your list. And a few I don't recognise.

Taking Digi's lead. You can add Sci Fi and Fantasy Game soundtrack composers to your list if you so wish.
I have to admit that is a genre I forgot. And I apologise.

          these are no brainers, obvi.
But I'll definitely add Michael Giacchino (LOST + many new shows). His stuff is brilliant.

Maybe Hans Zimmer should get a nod.

My absolute favourite is Murray Gold for Doctor Who. I absolutely adore the Doctor Who soundtracks & play them constantly (much to my daughter's annoyance )

Fave track is - I am the Doctor

The games do definately have a good music score to with them!

Actually no, Jack Wall was not involved in ME3's score. Wall and Sam Hulick co-composed/produced the scoring for ME1 and ME2, but the list of composers and producers involved expanded considerably with the ME2 dlc content.

The music for Kasumi's Stolen Memory and Arrival was done by Sascha Dikiciyan and Cris Velasco (ie: the guys from Sonic Mayhem, who years and years ago did the OST for Quake 2), while the music for Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker was done by Christopher Lennertz.

The soundtrack for Mass Effect 3 was handled jointly (different composers for different tracks) by Sam Hulick, Christopher Lennertz, Cris Velasco, Sascha Dikiciyan, and franchise newcomer Clint Mansell.

Mansell, of course, is notable for composing the soundtracks for Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Moon, Black Swan, and a number of other high-profile feature films.
