Hello guys ! Hope all of you are doing well.

Destiny is beautiful ship!
I grew tired of waiting for a model of Destiny to show up on the market.
After doing loads and loads of ""kelno'reem""
I started the project. I will be updating this post as the projects takes shape

09/30/2011 - Basic design and template cut out.

Drawing the ship was a bit hard the easiest way to do this - is Draw only half and then do a flip of the same side this way both sides are even.

1. Drew the Basic outline of Destiny (i used plywood- but you should always use MDF)



2. I cut 2 pieces - 2nd one slightly smaller. (glueing these 2 piece will give me the profile i am looking for)




3. (boring) Sanding - sanding - sanding - & more sanding....... ...
Sanded the edges & the surface to be nice and soft

4. Glueing both pieces together. [Gorilla Glue]



5. Clamped - Done for the day!

Just make sure you look at ACTUAL pics of Destiny and not fan-made images and renderings, that way you won't screw anything up.

Note: Theres good pics of the underside in "Incursion, Part 2" when the ship is hit by radiation from teh binary pulsar.

Thanks mate - I noticed that - Lot of fan made 3D is way off - I will be using The screegrabs from all over Thank God i have the HD version of SGU episodes in iTunes


Underside of the ship is pretty as well - lets how much detail i can grab.

true. but sadly for now, no matter where post it - it will be always in wrong section.

so i thought will put it here for the time being and when "SGU merchandise" section is created it can later be moved.

08/31/2011 - Added 3rd Layer - More structure.

Lines are Pretty Rough as of this moment but will clean up all that later on . Today i was able to work about 2.5 hrs added more profile the the ship the 3rd layer.

Cut 2 pecies these will make the top base (3rd Layer)


30+ mins of sanding.
