Season 2 is looking good and I love that we don't have to wait a ridiculous length of time between the end of Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2.

Nick's mom is a good addition because I look forward to seeing the type of experienced, badass Grimm who has instilled so much fear in the Wesen community. The woman is intense and frightening. I love it!

Furthermore, having her around may make up for not seeing more of Nick's aunt. I was always sorry that Nick's aunt was killed so soon in Season 1, but I understand why. If Nick had access to guidance from an experienced Grimm, he probably wouldn't have become friends with Monroe and other Wesen like him because he probably wouldn't have trusted his instincts as easily.

One of the things that never gets old for me is how shocked Wesen are when they find out Nick's a Grimm and that he doesn't immediately try to kill them. I also continue to be amused by their reactions when they discover that Nick and Monroe are good friends.

Love, love, love this short break between the seasons and look forward to August 13th.

me too. i love the beevers reaction lol. and how Juliette was confused on why the guy freaked out when he saw Nick. I agree that with guidence from his aunt he never would have freinded Monroe.

Also, to be a friend with Monroe (who was, from a certain point of view, his first "teacher") helped him to see things from a different perspective. Grimms are probably just taught to "kill the monsters" but Nick knows them and cares about some of them, considers friends. This will be very interesting to watch, especially with his mum around.

blueray

i definitely don't think she will approve of his friendship with them.

July 28th, 2012, 11:47 AM
Having Monroe become Nick's reluctant mentor was one of the things that kept me watching this show. It was both strange and hilarious. These characters seem to have a connection that even they don't quite understand because Monroe was never terrified of Nick and Nick was almost immediately drawn to Monroe.

Most shows probably would have developed this relationship slowly, but Grimm went into it full force from the beginning and it worked. I also love how this relationship doesn't take anything away from Nick's relationship with the other two important people in his life, Juliette and Hank.

Speaking of Hank, with Nick's hardcore mom around, I wonder how long he can stay in denial about the odd things he's seen and experienced. As for Juliette, I look forward to seeing how she deals with the reality of who Nick has become. I love that their relationship isn't perfect because I have no idea how she's going to react when she finally finds out.

Now that we've had a full season of Nick and Monroe bonding and Nick being considered so different from other Grimms, it will be interesting to see how his mother deals with this. After all, she's clearly one of the those terrifying traditional Grimms that Monroe and the other Wesen are more familiar with.

Two days! :)

Watching the clip with Nick´s mum again and I have to admit, I want Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio to stay as long as possible. She says like two lines and she is awesome. All the things she can tell only with her expressions and eyes? You can see anger, confusion and maybe even some disappointment after Nick tells her about Monroe and Rosalee. I honestly can´t wait to see more of these two dealing with their "grimmhood" and their different...attitudes :D

big spoiler for next episode (The Kiss) - don't want to be spoiled, don't read

from "Ask Ausiello"

Question: Absolutely loved the Grimm premiere. Any scoop on how long Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio will be sticking around as Nick’s mom? —Dan Ausiello: She says goodbye to her son next week, but I suspect that’s not the last we will see of her. Bonus scoop: The episode concludes with a surprising liplock and an even more surprising car theft.

Well, season 1 ended with 5.6 Million, season 2 started last week with 5.7 Million. Both numbers are pretty good. I would say everything beyond 5 Million is good, but the more, the merier :). We are talking about NBC, not ABC here ;)

Could be, depends on the competitors. But Grimm lost 800,000 viewers this week. That's not good!
For now I will blame NBC because they only advertised episode 2.01 really big. I know a lot of people who didn't know there would be also the second episode this week. And some really felt out of the skies when I told them that Grimm would continue to be aired on Mondays till September, 21st. I have a remark and do not know where exactly I should post it - so I do it here (contains spoiler from The Kiss and last seasons episodes)

remember the episode with Ian from the resistence? there they explained that the Verrat had been killing wesen who had mixed with other species; because the Verrat want to keep the races pure (sounds a lot like the Nazis :S) - so does that put Renard in danger because the Verrat do not approve him being half a hexenbiest and half a royal? might this be a reason he wants to have a 'friendly' Grimm helping him out?
what do you think?

Hyndara71
August 24th, 2012, 11:37 AM
Mh, as he's somewhat in charge with Portland as his "Kanton" I don't think he's in danger. Maybe before he became a leader. But I think I would doubt that too because he's also a Royal. As far as we know the Verrat also wants the very same as the Seven Families: Back to the "good old Times".

Sorry, it's German. Don't know why but I never find any US-rating-sites :(Do you know if they are taking into account that the show is on twice a week now? I would think you'd have to add the Monday night numbers to the Friday night numbers. Of course, then you might be getting some that are watching twice. Frankly, I'll be glad when it's back to just Fridays at 9pm. I have a hard time staying up on Mondays to watch it, especially since it's on after what's got to be one of the worst shows of all time. (And I thought that celebrity family tree show it followed last spring on Fridays was bad!! Little did I know they could come up with something worse!!!)

I am not (now) in US so I don't know about what's before and what is after Grimm. I only have limited sources of what is going on over there and I've seen good shows failing because they were on the wrong schedule one times too often - or, just the same, bad decisions from the network about the cancellation of good shows ("Lie to me" anyone?). In fact, what they are doing over here ways too long (actually there's a so called "Action"-show on Thursday's primetime over here with more than 20 seasons over all ), US-networks seems to lose their interest in shows much too early. In my opinion, as they aren't speed up the storyarc they will need one or two seasons more to tell their story (my, I would love if Grimm would get a run like Stargate, Smallville or Supernatural) but I don't know if NBC has enough patience to let it run.
On the other hand Grimm was a "cancellation-canidate for sure" last year and it turned out as a success. And, you said it's up on air twice the week and I have no numbers about the Friday-schedule, I hope for the show. Especially because it will be on Friday night in its regular schedule from September, 21st on.
We'll see what happens. Uhm ... anybody has the Friday numbers from the last two weeks?

If Grimm goes back to Fridays and retains most of its' Monday audience it will be just fine. Friday shows can afford lower ratings. And 9PM will probably be better too.

It will for sure *iz nodding*. Two more episodes on Mondays (next and the week after), then a week off and on September, 21st it will be back on Fridays.

NBC's Grimm Guide released info on a new Wesen that will appear in the next episode.

Stangebär: A porcupine-like Wesen that can expose and retract needle-like quills as a defense mechanism. Stangebärs are generally peaceful and docile, similar in nature to a Mauzhertz, Reinigen or Eisbiber. They tend to find work in areas that allow them to be outdoors. When Woged, Stangebärs display an impressively thick coat of colored quills, or spines, used both for armor as well as camouflage.

Usually this info isn't released until after the episode airs, so maybe someone posted it early on accident?

‘GRIMM’: WILL JULIETTE BE THE NEXT TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH?

At the end of Grimm‘s first season, Nick came extremely close to telling his love Juliette the truth about his life as a Grimm. But now that selective amnesia has left her unable to remember Nick at all, is Juliette further from the truth than ever before? That’s how star Bitsie Tulloch sees it. “She can’t remember him as a human being — let alone as a Wessen hunter,” she says. “I think the main focus is going to be on getting her to remember or rebuilding a relationship from scratch.”

Thus far, it hasn’t been an easy task to tackle. The two are fraying at the edges, she says, and that will continue for a while. “She just can’t remember him and he has years and years of wonderful memories with her,” she says. “He really wants to beat his head against the wall because nothing he does is jolting her from this emptiness.” (Trivia: Tulloch reveals that she was in tears while filming the scene from last week’s episode, where Nick was showing Juliette pictures of their past at the hospital — but those takes ended up not being used.)

In the next new episode, airing Monday, Juliette will make her own attempt to jolt her memory and this will lead to the return of a familiar face. And this meeting could set her on the path toward uncovering Nick’s secret. But will she ever? Tulloch will answer that question and more (like what could result from that kiss with Capt. Renard!) in our post-episode chat, which you can read here on InsideTV on Monday night after you watch the episode.

Honestly, he is a complete stranger to her. Imagine how you would feel if a guy you didn´t know slept on your couch. Also, their relationship wasn´t exactly perfect before - she may feel it. Not remember but certainly feels like they don´t tell her everything. Especially Monroe who, let´s face it, isn´t the best liar in the world. I think if she starts searching after the truth, she may find out about Nick because this way, when her mind is not clouded by "I don´t think Nick would lie to me, he loves me and tells me everything". She was suspicous before but probably love for Nick stopped her from digging deeper. She can do it now because she just wants to know the most and remember. It would be great if she found out by herself.

Well, I can only tell you from my experience. I was hooked by another fan who asked me about the German used in season 1. I gave it a try, watched the first couple of episodes and ... fell in love with that show. True, season 1 isn't perfect but which show is that?
About starting with season 2 ... don't know if NBC still have this vid online "season 1 in 8 minutes" or so. But you should definetely try to catch up from the beginning because the show is serial not episodic. True, in season 1 you have a lot episodes with "monster of the week" but there's also always a storyarc behind.
I would give you that device to watch the Pilot, 1.02, 1.03, 1.10, 1.13, 1.15, 1,18, 1.19, 1.20, 1.22, 2.01, 2.02 and 2.03. That's only about SOME background, other episodes, like the storyarc about the key, are still going on, started with the Pilot and ... *sighs*. Okay, I'm in love with this show and I haven't seen a soo bad episode yet. True, two episodes that doesn't catch my interest this far (1.18 and 2.03) and maybe I'm the wrong person to tell you. But I really would say, give the first episodes a try, only to have a little bit background about what is going on.

We´ll have Season 1 on September here! It will be dubbed so I won´t watch it but I am glad. Grimm will get more fans that way :)

Angelina´s return was also in the preview for next episode :) I am glad, Jaime Ray Newman is sort of my girl crush :)

I was hooked by Grimm also by the first episode but I have to admit, I had a little crisis after the fourth episode. There was a longer break between episodes 4 and 5, and 5th wasn´t that great. I never quit watching shows (except Heroes, that went down pretty quickly and Eureka which I regretted later when I got back to it and realized how great TV show it was).
Season 2 is great so far. I can´t wait to see more episodes. I just wish NBC would stop with these breaks.

Unfortunately, breaks are what America's TV channels are good at :S

Loved Eureka!! I didn't stop watching it buy I also never saw it live. The best season of Beroes was the first, afterwards it was meh.

I finally saw the latest two eps of Grimm and I feel so bad for Nick!! I'm also a little worried about Hank knowing because now he seems a little gung-ho for the Wesen and not in a good way.

thank you. I was at a crossroads for the longest time about which fairy tale show to watch: Grimm or Once Upon a Time. i'm glad i chose the right one.

I watched Grimm and OUAT at the same time from the time they started airing. I was drawn to Grimm straight away and enjoyed it more than OUAT. The characters in Grimm were more engaging for me from the start, I just could not like the main characters in OUAT except Robert Carlyle's Rumpelstiltskin. In this show we've got a whole load of characters that are fun to watch and I care about them.

I love how a police procedural show is mixed with the existence of a whole believable world of other creatures alongside the 'normal' one. It works for me entertainment wise in the same way that 'Alien Nation' did, where the aliens had to co-exist on Earth with the humans and you had the alien policeman paired up with the human one to police both 'worlds' much in the same way Nick is doing with Munroe's help, whilst learning more about each other with each situation they are faced with.

Grimm is certainly the better choice for me too! :)

Glad you got the chance to watch it, Klenotka. We're here in Germany are still waiting. I still think it will last till 2013, especially because the Network where Grimm will air had done an announcement some weeks ago. They want to try "something new" and that's the reason why they bought Grimm and also Continuum. Well, Continuum is, as far as I know, don't watch that show, new on screen. And as Vox has nothing to do with Universal (which owns NBC) I'm pretty sure we will see both, Grimm and Continuum on one night one after the other - next year (and I guess it will be on Friday nights because that's the night where Vox is still in trouble with it's ratings).

Well, OuaT premiered last week over here. Didn't watch it but it's funny to watch how fast there is a little fandom growing. One part of me hopes the same for Grimm (the other half wants to protect the show and the characters ;)).

Well, I have to say, I only barely watch TV - or free TV. But what I can tell you is that that "Reality TV"-virus has infected pretty much networks for now *rolls eyes*. Not my cup of tea, I better watch my DVDs or what is up on PayTV. I think besides ProSieben and Tele5 there's no network really interested in SyFy or Fantasy, and ProSieben ... we better be quiet about how they treated Doctor Who ... It made me wonder that RTL2 had bought the rights on GoT and Vox ... since the end of PSI Factor they haven't aired anything SciFi-related *scratches forehead*. We will see when Grimm will have its premiere. A friend of mine is guessing maybe on Halloween (which would be bad for me because ... well, Wicca on board *waves*) but I don't see it. There was a rumour that, when OuaT would bring in good numbers Grimm would come this year. If that is true ... don't know.

I don´t watch much of a TV. too. I am back with my folks for a while (I am moving away at the end of this month again) so I occasionally watch something with my mum. But the reality TV is here as well, just in some weird, twisted way. We Czechs are a very specific viewers :D (and I basically watch only News now, because of a alcohol prohibition we have so there are news about it each hour). I see everything before it gets here, altough I have to admit, I sometimes watch even shows I have already seen, just to have a background to dinner (so it´s usually Step by Step or The Simpsons :D)

And btw., do you know that David will be next May in England for a convention? :) It is just a week before German FedCon which I attend every year so I probably won´t go to England (too expensive to have two conventions so close to each other). But I have to admit it´s very tempting :))

Uhm, no, this I didn't know. And England is out of reach for me as I have a cat at home and have to take care on her. No vacations over night because I don't have someone who would feed her or clean her litter. That's why I prefer FedCon/RingCon/TrekGate. Duesseldorf is 150 km away, an hour on the train and I can come back for the night.
Maybe someday one or two of the cast will show up in Germany too. I fear, as long as the show will run, not for RingCon because it's always in October, but Sasha (for example) also did Caprica, so I could imagine him on FedCon.

I hope they will invite them one day. They started with "other" TV shows already (this year, there was a guest from Buffy :)) and I am glad to see them to get actors from Farscape. I know FedCon started as ST convention but today´s fans want more, I suppose, since from ST, you get to other shows. Grimm is still very young but they could surprise us one day :)
Maybe we´ll bump into each other (I bought a flight ticket this time because we usually go by car and it is a very exhausting 8-hours long drive). It´s not that unlikely to meet, you know ;) I have a friend here from GW, who always meet only on FedCon - this year, I even didn´t know she was going and I met her in the corridor before dealer´s room :D

As far as I know Nicholas was invited because they also had the original comic-artist for the new Buffy-Comic-series there. Usually they say Scifi is FedCon, Fantasy (what Grimm is) is for RingCon. But RingCon overlaps with the work on the show (still in hope for a third season ...). So I'm pretty sure the only chance to get a maincast-member would be for Sasha. Well, I wouldn't mind, I like him too :D. A complete panel like they had on ComicCon is out of question - unfortunately :(.

You were there during the whole con? I only was there on Saturday and had a lot of fun. Unfortunately I think I was one of the rare looners there, haven't met anyone I know. But besides that it was great and I will surely go there again. For now I'm not sure about next year because so far there's no one I really WANT to meet on the guest-list so far. I think maybe I will try RingCon next year because during the last years they had a couple of stars from TrueBlood there whom I would like to see in person. Unfortunately this year ... no chance!

I am always there for the whole convention. To go there just for one day isn´t really worth the trip for me (we are neighbours, and I live pretty close to German borders but it is still through the whole Germany :)) There is a group of us but this time, I may be also alone. I have a friend who also prefers RingCon and I really hope they will keep "changing" the rules and will invite more people from not strictly sci-fi area. But yes, Sasha would be really, really cool :)
I am already excited about FedCon because this year, there wasn´t really anybody who would I run and yell for (so it cost me more because I didn´t go for a particular actor :D) but this time, they have already my most favourite actor and character from ST (Alexander Sidding, because Bashir is, along with Archer, my most favourite ST character), Ben Browder and Gigi Edgley (yay if they will make a Farscape panel) and Colin Ferguson who was there once already but I didn´t know Eureka back then :)
Maybe if David guest starred on some sci-fi (is there any sci-fi show, except Doctor Who, that is really good on TV?) so they would use it as an excuse to invite him :D
TV, ?)

Maybe we will meet one day at FedCon :)

Well, for now I'm wondering that they are still inviting TrueBlood for RingCon because they had a Vampire'sCon this summer.
I have to say, sometimes this "German behaviour" sucks. All this "this is scifi, that is fantasy, those is horror, blahblahblah). Haven't we just learned that vampires are also good in a fantasy-world (besides I remember a movie where vampires came from outer space, so, what would be that? ;)). I've heard some crtical voices about the Buffy-panel but, my, there was so much to look at and to listen to, there were some other, definitely crappy panels in the noon. When I only remember this horrible "Apocalypse and the day after"-panel. Really, this genre (end of time) is pretty high on my list and I was so pissed about what that guy on stage was doing to it! I think I know why the microphones were deactivated during the early panels *iz still pissed*.
Colin Ferguson I have seen on that list and he made me for a moment thinking about changing my mind. Farscape ... I still have on my watch-list, never saw it when it originally aired. ST, besides TOS, isn't my cup of tea, but I remember Alexander Siddig from "Primeval". Well, not such a big fan of season 4 I think ...
 David G and Scifi, that would be pretty cool but unfortunately ... I'm going through his old stuff right now (hey, I simply have to do something till next week!). Unfortunately it looks like he was more casted for being eye-candy (what he definetely is) and/or love interest. I think the closest to scifi he'd ever done was acting on "Cold Case" in the past-scenario. I'm more wondering about how he'd managed it to get in the first credits for one damned scene where he had to speak three sentences and looking serious (The Unit). But ... he looks pretty hot in uniform :D!

EDIT:
Well, okay, David was one time in Ghost Whisperer, which was a mystery-show, and he's listed two times for "Eli Stone" (why the heck I cannot remember him there?) which was more or less fantasy.

I used to complain about their organisation (too many actors) but this year, they did great (I was at Captain´s Table last year and *that* was a mess). Who could have critizised Buffy panel? I fortunately forgot enough German to avoid these comments but I understand enough to go to the "supporting" panels. I was at one about psychology in sci-fi and it was really interesting (even though I understood every third word from it :D)

Watch Farscape, Ben Browder is great and hot in there (SG1 never truly gave him to show his potential). And as for ST, I think Enterprise and Deep Space Nine are the best so if you would ever want to watch, go with them.

David is probably very busy with Grimm but if guest starred somewhere...it´s a long shot.
Reggie Lee was in the Star Trek movie and said two lines, so he may be a guest :D

And I think we just hijacked this thread! (sorry guys!)

Hyndara71
September 20th, 2012, 01:48 AM
I've heard and read a lot of critic especially about the whole Buffy-thing on FedCon, also be member on their boards at the FedCon-Site, made a lot of the WPs they had shown during the panels.
Captain's Table? What is that?
I'm a little confused now because I was asked before my visit at the Con to work there as Confish (Babblefish, someone who translates for you if needed). When I was there no one seemed to even knew what and where I should work as translator so I finally spent my day there having a lot of fun. Funny that you haven't got a "Fish" on your side ;).
Farscape I definetely will rewatch, I saw a couple of episodes in a rerun and haven't had a clue what was going on there but I liked what I saw. Unfortunately the network which "owns" the show right now only have paid for the (I think) second season what they have on TV over and over and over again. I think I have to buy the DVDs *sigh*.
DS9 I know, my Dad and one of my brothers were both Trekkies so I grew up with TOS and haven't a chance to avoid watching it later ;). To me DS9 is ... well, I think they were VERY inspired by Babylon5 but with the typical ST-flaws. Not really my cup of tea. Ent I never watched. Some friends of mine are always trying to push me into that but ... I was tortured by the former shows, I don't need it.

Well, he mentioned several times that he like scifi and horror so ... maybe it will happen and we will see him somewhere else guesting. I think he's still pretty close to the start of his carreer, everything is still possible to and for him.

Are we? As far as I can see it every thread on this boards was one or two times hijacked and the Grimm-forums are still very quiet, so ... *shrugs* ... as long as the mods are fine with it and we are not bothering others, why not ;)?

Klenotka
September 20th, 2012, 03:08 AM
Captain´s Table happened on September last year and it was basically only Captains from ST. But my favourite, Scott Bakula, wasn´t there :(
The organisation there was terrible. Nobody seemed to know anything. I asked one staff person, he told me something, while someone on the other side of the corridor told me something else. They were suprised by the amount of the people - in FedCon, you have many actors and visitors spread around, while here, everybody wanted a photo with every actor. It was a jungle.
I understand German but when there are changes going on and they speak in German very fast, it is a problem. I can ask again and ask for the person to speak slower (or repeat it in English) but my friends don´t know anything German and were very angry.
This year, it was my friend´s first FedCon and he said "British are better". They are smaller, that´s true and also, they speak, obviously, English. But he also said "If they want to invite people from all over the world and be a convention for everybody, they should all speak English and have information in English." I understand it is in Germany but it is a big event where people from 30 different countries arrive. I had to explain a situation about moving a photoshoot to another room to a group of confused American girls. Maybe I should be asked to do a translator if I manage to improve my German until next year :D

I don´t understand how any fan can critizise anything genre related. Buffy isn´t exactly sci-fi but it is far from fantasy. It is horror/mystery and when they can invite some unknown people from the Alien then I have no problems with Nicolas Brandon at all. Especially when he was so cute :D

I always watch DS9 the way that I skip first two seasons and some stand-alone episodes. It is very far from the perfection of Babylon 5. It is definitely B5 rip-off. The story about Strazcynski being kicked out with his idea from Paramount, where they started DS9 the same year as B5 under different company, has been a source of misundersting between trekkies and B5 fans for years. I am a fan of both (I am a typical example - started on ST, moved to different and better things). Babylon 5 and Farscape are definitely the best sci-fi shows of the last 20 years. If you should watch anything from ST, watch Enteprise. The first season is a typical ST, but it is set before the Foundation of Federation so Archer and his crew go from "we come in peace" to "go to hell" pretty quickly :D I would recommend it as a good sci-fi, and if you are not necessarily a ST fan because it can stand alone as sci-fi show.

Hyndara71

Well, because the management is lacking was one of the reasons why two other (smaller) cons were launched, TrekGate by some fans themselves and Supernatural-Con ... I think it's the same company that runs much of the British cons. As far as I've heard about both had also flaws (hey, come on, first time, they can make mistakes at the first time!) but also were great. As next year Misha Collins is announced for SPN-con ... who knows? Maybe, depends on what OSTFC will come up with for RingCon ...
Yeah, that about the handler was another thing that bothered me. I've written two con-reports after my visit and I think in my German entry you can read very well how pissed I was. Because I had a daily ticket they didn't let me in to several panels (I knew about the Shatner-panel and it was okay with me as long as I could watch it live in the other room) but the JF/KS-panel? Besides that one of the handlers tried to avoid me the entrance to the art-showroom. And the best of all was this brainwashing whenever I asked something related to other shows/movies (huge Alien-fan over here :D). Everytime you got a looong explanation about ST *rolls eyes*.
I have to say I felt sorry for the actors when I heard the spelling and grammar for some of the questions. I mean, I think I wasn't really better, especially at the double-panel I was pretty nervous, but ... *shakes head in disbelief*. Well, as a German myself I really didn't noticed all the German, but I noticed very well the looks I got when I began to talk to others in English (had a nice conversation with Franko Urro at his table about Buffy and drawing and comics. My, he liked my selfmade shirt *iz still proud*!). But I think at least for the handler they should take care that they are able to speak and understand English.
As I've said, Trekkies *shrugs*, everything else isn't Scifi for them.
Uhm, Strazcynski first went to Paramount? Oookay, that I didn't know before . Well, maybe someday in the future I will spend a look into Ent, we'll see ...

I am also a huge Alien fan. I have a plush replica at home, the "face hugger", and I use it as a sort of a costume :D We make this "Fantasy March" every year in Prague (in March or April) and I actually had a big success with it, and I only attached it to my bag :D

Let´s hope Trekkies will stop whinning (and I am also a trekkie, just not that obsessed one!) and can allow also the other shows to grow on FedCon. Honestly, how many actors from different ST shows can they invite so it wouldn´t be repetitive? I saw a gazillion Doctor Who costumes this year so they may also try and focus on some British shows (they invited an actor from Torchwood which was a pleasant surprise).

yeah, let's wait and see, but this whole Renard/Juliette storyline does not really make me happy :S

Hyndara71
October 11th, 2012, 03:38 AM
Yeah, I got that but ... after all the conversations I had about this topic (Juliette/Renard) and finally watching that small little scene ... it's nothing to me. I mean, they are not jumping onto the next desk kissing and ... you know what I mean. There are only some shy looks from Sean with his also shy smile (my, he can look so cute! Didn't know that) and Juliette ... *shrugs* ... she's not jumping at him, only getting a little nervous and seems a little confused to me.
So, before I will judge, I will watch the whole episode and decide then what I'm up with.

Klenotka
October 11th, 2012, 11:27 AM
I think it was predictable (not because it is bad, just because it is a little...twisted..version of a fairytale :)) but I don´t believe there will be more from it. I certainly hope this will lead Nick to Renard and who he really is. I somehow believe it is actually the whole point of this. If Nick is not totally stupid, he will put two and two together with the hints he has (only HE can wake her - a royal, in Portland - Juliette suddenly taken by his captain...). So far, he had absolutely no reason to be suspicious about him.
Maybe already in the end of this episode? I can only hope.

I remember reading an interview with writers who said that Nick will have something as a teacher. Unless they thought his mother (who wasn´t much around and answered only some of his questions) Renard would actually make sense to me. It could be VERY interesting relationship.

Hyndara71
October 11th, 2012, 04:40 PM
Mmmh ... Had Kelly informed him about the "only he" Catherine mentioned before she died? Besides that this explanation (only Sean was able to wake up Juliette, no. It was about someone from pure heart, so Nick could also have tried but he didn't know!) is still a little weak to me, not only because the fairytale-theme but because of the "He". Argh! Cannot explain it the right way. It's ways too late I fear ...

About the other thing:
No! Please, no! Sorry, I love Renard and how Sasha is playing him. But Renard as a teacher for Nick? This doesn't work for me, sorry.

Episode 2.14 of Grimm will be called "Natural Born Wesen"

We will see some creatures called Istsa Sitan, which is a type of scorpion.

 really? I don't like those 'creatures' :S
Here is a little more info about that "creature"

Liam: You've been slacking on the Grimm scoop lately. Please share the goods!
Your wish is our command! The NBC show will be introducing a vicious, scorpion-esque creature (called an Istsa Sitan) in the form of Cole, the leader of a lack of troublemakers. Even worse? He's got a Bonnie to his Clyde, his girlfriend Krystal, who's also an Istsa Sitan, and helps her love commit robberies.

Episode 2.11, To Protect and Serve Man Press Release:

11/09/2012 (09:00PM - 10:00PM) (Friday) : HANK’S KNOWLEDGE OF NICK’S WORLD HAS HIM SECOND GUESSING A PAST CASE -- JASON GEDRICK AND LISA VIDAL GUEST STAR -- Hank (Russell Hornsby) starts reflecting on an arrest he made earlier in his career regarding a man (guest star Jason Gedrick) who committed murder claiming "self-defense against monsters." With the man’s death sentence rapidly approaching and the knowledge he’s recently gathered from Nick (David Giuntoli), Hank begins to wonder if there was more truth to the man’s seemingly absurd story then he once thought. Back at the spice shop, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) finds himself involved in a situation he never saw coming. Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee also star.

wondering what is the situation Monroe never saw coming .....

Natural Born Wesen sounds like it could be dealing with "mixing races" type of a story they did in this episode.
I hope they will do more Nick/Monroe scenes in future episodes (without Hank, who is great this season and has great interactions with both of them but he "gets in the way" a little in this case). They should try to balance scenes where would be more characters together more often. I loved the little scene between Nick and Rosalee when she first came in town but never anything like it since. I would love to see that, too.

Let's face the truth - aka ratings time, Grimmsters: Grimm lost again (why oh why this doesn't make me wonder ... ?). Not so much than last week, but it's down to a 1.4/5 and lost it's first rank in that timeslot to an ABC-show.
The complete table you can find here (http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/10/20/tv-ratings-friday-shark-tank-hits-series-high-nikita-premieres-low-grimm-csi-ny-blue-bloods-down/154036/). The final ratings for last week's episode are also up ... and Grimm won again *reliefed sigh*. There's also an interesting article about NBC where Grimm is mentioned several times, true along the other successful shows at TVbyNumbers (http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/10/16/nbc-rules-week-3-of-the-new-season-in-adults-18-49/153327/).

It is still one of the most successful Friday shows and it gets NBC viewers on Friday. As much as I hated NBC to give my favourite shows into bad time slots (first Chuck, now Grimm), to move it back to Friday didn´t seem as a bad move. Also, I have to give the a credit that same with Chuck (that really didn´t have great ratings and it could have been cancelled after 1st season, NBC gave them 5 years). I hope Grimm will get Chuck´s "favourite little show with a stable fanbase" spot that Chuck left last year :)

Photos to 1x09 have been online for some time but there are some new photos here. I remember the one with poor wet Nick, looking unhappy :)
