    Perfect Ending to continue

With them being in stasis when/if sgu comes back and they can't get all the cast back, then they could use this. I mean either they die or for some reason they can't bring them out of stasis. Something along those lines. What do you think?

Well yea pretty good ending to have a possible continue. And as you said if they cant get some actors back they could do a few things.

have some scientific thing happen where the chambers failed well a few did and instead of dieing their conscious mind got uploaded to the ship and that later on they will find or be able to make other bodies (that look different to the actors) that they can upload their mind to or even leaves a door open for the actors to come back later.

Not so much a cliffhanger than an open-ending IMO. The episode was perfect, and the guy that allowed it all to happened is left with the future of the ship and its crew in his hands. At this moment, it doesn't matter if SGU comes back or not cause the story was beautifully concluded.

Im sad that we wont be seeing anything Stargate related anytime soon, but im glad all three series ended the same way, like the stories are continuing, we just haven't got the top secret clearance to read the reports yet.

Even if there is a reboot of some sorts some of the crew could stay stuck in stasis it would be very appropriate to start the series agian in 3 years or so. perhaps that they stayed a year extra in stasis of even for a few hundred of years. Eventaully earth has created a ship that could caught up with destiny etc. Rebuilding or even upgrading Destiny.

Really great ending from which to restart a series. Felt somewhat closed unlike Atlantis where it ended with a massive "erm... what about Pegasus and the Wraith?", but this time the show can restart in a new galaxy with new stories and new bad guys, not having to worry about unresolved issues with the Drones although wonder how long they will sit and wait?, maybe they will get bored and just destroy the gates?
Glad it was not a life or death cliff hanger situation, although wonder where it was heading in the writers minds?

It's perfect for the series because a couple of "malfunctioning" pods can take care of those real world actors preoccupation.

For the franchise, Destiny's can be lost with no way to contact them or there can be a way for earth to contact them bring them back home. Next week or in a 1000s year.

MIA, if you want to forget about SGU, or not MIA, if we want to finish off this SGU storyline.

It was perfect, it means the series could be renewed whenever, and Eli would just say 'oops, guess we drifted for an extra xxx years'.

There is a lot that could be done with this if somehow the series gets renewed/rekindled/whatever....

#1- They could resume the series at any point for the next 5-6 years with no issue.

#2- They could resume the series after 5-6 years by saying the ship drifted, and they were drifting for 100s of years (they could use a time travel story to return to "The Present") - this would account for the characters aging (ala the stasis pods on the Aurora in SGA only less severe)

#3- If actors aren't available, the stasis pods could malfunction in some way (see above posts).

#4- the show could come back sooner than 3 years at any time - the Drones could find a way to track Destiny in FTL, or the ship could crash, or any number of things could happen.

#5- If the actor for Eli is available than he solved the issue- if he's not available than he didn't and they can find his remains - making for a sad, but fitting opening.

#6- If they do a crossover movie at any point they can make it about rescuing the Destiny crew. Because they are "in limbo" this can take place pretty much at any time.

Its a fantastic closer- no where near as bad as Joe M. said it would be.

I agree that it leaves it open like that Ekras. Perhaps if Joe and some of the other actors and writers have much more success in their future projects MGM could gain renewed interest in at least making a short continuation as more potential viewers/buyers would exist.

Still an extremely small chance though, but we can hope I guess.

They don't even need to wait 3 years if they want to continue the SGU storyline (If they manage to reboot the franchise). The 3 years is the time without the help of resources of Earth. Who knows maybe 1+ year down the road, Earth found another Icarus planet, they can sent another expedition with some naquadah generators to Destiny.

It would be nice to see them send reinforcements/resupply them.. but i wonder if the destiny could even be configured to take power from those generators.
