Okay, from the sneak peak we see that the Drones are blockading all the stargates left in this galaxy. So, why stay in this Galaxy? Their tanks are as full as they can get push out of the plane of the ecliptic and head for another Galaxy. Fill up again work on food and water then head back, by the most direct path possible to Destiny's orginal course.

Morbo,
Freeze most of the crew during the sidetrip.
Rylor,
In the last intergalactic transit they didn't. So head for the galaxy nearest to the new course outside of he plane of the ecliptic. All plot and no character makes for a dull story... Destiny,

Going off of Destiny's beaten path runs the very real risk of ending up in a galaxy without any Stargates...effectively cutting off most of their means of gathering supplies.
If we assume for a moment that Destiny heads "up" until it's out of the galactic plane then heads towards the galaxy Destiny already planned on going to...then they run the risk of running out of enough power to fuel the FTL drive...even if all other systems are shut down, they are still flying "high" enough to leave the plane, the remaining length of the galaxy and the distance between this galaxy and the next, all without any chances to refuel.

However it just struck me that it will also depend on how the seedships travelled. What if the seedships followed a relatively horizontal route. If they go to another galaxy by travelling vertically they will probably encounter a galaxy without gates, making travel extremely difficult, because they won't know where the planets and stars exactly are, or which are habitable.

thekillman,

Destiny,
Fair enough, they don't need to go to the horizontal edge. But another galaxy is not necessarily closer from such an angle.
