Why SGU movie won't be made

Maybe offtopic, but this news could do some explaining about MGM real cash reserves right now. If they try to cash in so big on product placements (in next James Bond, which are usually box office power horses), then it is quite understandable that MGM don't wanna risk money on SGU movie.

The movie isn't being made because Brad & Co couldn't get the money together in time. It's old news. MGM wouldn't have been paying for it straight out of their piggy bank regardless.

Continuum did worse than AoT despite being promoted more and despite having RDA in it. It seems like people were far more willing to pay for a series resolution than a stand alone movie.
