Zombie apocalypse has been done to death, no pun intended. Plus if it turns out they can run, then it just ruins the whole mood. At least with machines trying to take over the world, you know they'd not last long once they install an important update and forget to untick the box that installs a crippling piece of spyware to their system.

Or they'd spend their day looking at porn.

Nah. Give me a classic zombie apocalypse. Running zombies will make it a lot less fun, because running away from running zombies is like, really hard. But machines? **** that. They'd be way harder to kill, and I don't think the zombies have nukes. Just teeth. I can deal with teeth.
