I always liked Sinclair more than Sheridan. Michael O'Hare could be hammy at times, but he has a certain gravitas to him that Bruce Boxleitner just can't match. Not that I didn't enjoy Sheridan--I couldn't see Sinclair doing the whole rebellion thing, but there was just something about Sinclair that I really appreciated.
No hate intended for Lochley either, she just happened to have gigantic shoes to fill. Sinclair and Sheridan were tough acts to follow. Even if she does look like she's an 80s softcore porn star

Sinclair was good, he was a bit hammy at times (I remember an instance when he grabbed Sakai) but Sheridan was fun. I knew I'd like Sheridan the moment he gave his little speech about the first time he made direct contact with a Minbari Cruiser. Maybe it's kid in me who loved Tron, but I loved it when Boxleitner joined the B5 cast (probably didn't help I watched shows like Scarecrow and Mrs. King with my mum as a kid). From a character development point of view, I am glad Sinclair was written out of the show just so we should the final fate of the character (great revelation).
Lochley, I liked her alright (probably because she was Cat in Lois and Clark) but I was disappointed that Ivanova wasn't around any more, that Lochley was more hard nosed military than Sinclair and Sheridan and a lot of time was more serious than needed. Given the situation, it was understandable but I started to accept her as a character when we started to learn more about her and her past.
I never hated Sinclair and I absolutely loved the whole Valen storyline. That said, my favorite commander was Sheridan, I totally adored the character. Lochley was okay, but nothing special IMO. If I could change just one thing about B5, it would be to keep Ivanova and make her the commander of B5 for the final season...
Yeah I think we can all agree that the loss of Claudia Christian was very, very unfortunate.

I agree completely Ivanova is my favorite B5 character, she would have whipped that space station into shape as a commander, now that would have been something to behold.

I think Sheridan was the go-to-guy to secede from Earth Alliance and fight back against Clark. I honestly can't picture Sinclair leading a fight like that. But somehow I can picture Michael O'Hare as Valen and leading an intense war of attrition against the Shadows. I suppose it's his Minbari-ness.
Now Ivanova would have been awesome as B5's final commander of the series. Damn that contractual debacle.

We do seem to see eye-to-eye on most TV matters, don't we? o_O

Yeah. If I ever get the time to work on it, I have an alternate timeline story outline waiting. Ivanova's in command of B5 and the telepath storyline is complicated by her fears of being outed as a latent.
