    A problem of proportions

While watching Deliverance, I noticed that maybe the size of the Blue Aliens' mothership doesn't really match with the previous pictures of it, particularly with these two images:

    http://stargate.mgm.com/assets//Stil...211-0023xx.jpg

Knowing we had this picture to compare the shuttle's size to Destiny's,

    http://stargate.mgm.com/assets//Stil...211-0001xx.jpg

and these to compare Destiny and the Blues' mothership:

    So, am I cross-eyed or something ?

No, they just make next to no effort to get things to scale. It's not even unintentional if you go b the Mark Sevala Q&A, the just go for the coolest shots they can, which is a shame.

A better question: Does it really matter?

Well realism is one of the things they've been striving for, so yeah.

I don't remember seeing that second shot in the episode, but then again i thought it was strange that the shuttle was flying into the ship's main weapon.

it's not the Main Weapon. it's the fighter bay, as depicted in every episode ever. watch Trial and Error where you can see the location of the fighter bay relative to the ship itself

I was thinking the same thing at first. Then realized it's not it.

                  Nice images there.

The show show ships looks beautiful. An the details on the destiny still amazes me . An I keep on noticing new features.

I am not completly convince they got the scaling, but I am not completly convince they got it right either base on those images. I think there is a other shot in the episode which shows the scaling way off better than these however.

When I rewatch it to night, presuming I get at least some of my course work done I will take a screen shot and show.

I think it when the shuttle turns around and they reliese there path have been blocked off by the aliens, that particular shot compare to these proves they got the scaling wrong.

The fourth picture (display) is from a simulation made by Destiny. That was in Young's mind. It's not necessary to be accurate. Actually in Resurgence, in Destiny's battle simulation the drones are much bigger
                    http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__...ien_battle.jpg
and the largest type of drone is pretty much the same size of Destiny's shuttle:
                    http://www.gateworld.net/gallery/dis...268&fullsize=1
                    http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__..._spaceship.jpghttp://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__...Good)4.jpg.jpg
If fact if you look at "Space" the Alien ship is slightly bigger than the ones from Destiny's simulation. And the display was real-time:
                    http://www.gateworld.net/gallery/dis...um=914&pos=350
Also in the last picture the alien ships are further than Destiny, the image is tilted, they're on a "higher" position than Destiny, so you can't size the ships properly:
                    http://www.gateworld.net/gallery/dis...um=915&pos=993
In the second image the shuttle is already on its way to the camera so of course it looks bigger. The view is also on a different angle so the image is deformed, not to mention the fact that the shuttle's "T" form doesn't help making a very good scaling.

i don't know much about size portions but wouldn't the ship seem to change size depending on how far away it is. like when scott is right next to it, it would look bigger and from destiny it would look smaller. plus the ships could have been moving slightly.

Stargate has never kept their scalings consistant which is a shame because it does kind of ruin a scene for me, 'Camelot' being the best example of this, a great battle but the messed up scaling does take you out the action, well for me atleast.

I have always been told me that size doesn't matter.....

Don't know if that translates to Stargate SFX but the shots looked fine to me when I watched the other night.

Did anybody else think that the drone looked incredibly small? I know there were multiple sizes, but no drone seemed to be that size until they tried bringing it on board. Heck, even when they were loading it into the shuttle, it didn't look like it was going to fit.
