Okay. That was much more like the "Sanctuary" that I love! Werewolf stuff was pretty cool. Was great to see what Henry looks like when he transforms. And the big reveal at the end about the city was pure AWESOMENESS! Next week looks cool to. Still not liking the new theme, though.

Ok the Werewolf stuff was really cool! I loved seeing Henry actually transform fully. And it's wonderful that he found some others just like him :D
GREAT scenes at the Sanctuary too!! LOVED the scenes with the city hologram & Helen/Nikola <3

Henry in Werewolf form was totally AWESOME!!

M fave line has to be this, "Oh, and you bathed too. Thank you so very much." lmao!! I bet fell off the table I was sitting on with laughter. lol!! Plus I loved Helen look when Nikola said she had to hold him closer. She didn't want to... lmao!! That was funny!

OHHH! Now, we see who the girl from the season 3 promo is! I hadn't recognise her until th very end of the episode. Haha. ^^

I really liked how they played out the werewolf part of the ep. I must admit I wasn't expecting something like that. Now, they'll all be taken care of at the Sanctuary - a much better place.

But I still don't understand exactly why she (the blond woman - I forgot her name) did this. She could have just give them diazapam (how ever you write that) without giving them a drug to make them kill. Was she just hungry for power or something?

Now, the city. OMG.
I had to listen to the ending twice before getting it completly, and I'm still not sure I got all the implications of it. But that's what recording is for. ;DD I'm going to watch it again tomorrow.

Oh, and one last thing.

Nikola is a genius. I love this character.

It was hilarious how he triggered the EM pulse. then Helen told him to go and fix her house... lmao!! that was great!! Course true to himself, Tesla couldn't leave the city alone even though Helen told him too. lol!

Really cool episode. Nice to see Henry taking the lead story for a change. He was great. The transformation was very well done and the bit with the girl was great.
Magnus and Tesla had the "B" story this time but it also gave us alot to deal with. I love those two working together. Such fun. And now we have the search for one of the 3 tunnels into that world.

Next week - the episode that AT says they beat the crap out of her!

Loved the werewolf storyline with Henry! The CGI for the complete transformation was really good and I liked the battle at the end. It will be interesting to see if the dark haired woman and Henry keep in touch.

Helen and Tesla finding the map has me wanting them to go searching for an enterance ASAP!

Fun episode. Very nice to get more background on Henry and see how far he's come with accepting who he is since the Five and Edward. The comraderie between Will and Henry was also quite nice, especially since those two don't often get paired up like this on the show.

The bantering between Helen and Tesla as they worked on the city was quite fun as well, esp Tesla the house elf and Helen's 'thanks Dobby!' :P The idea of a 'hollow Earth' is also intriguing and what group could have the ability to put those tunnels below each continent. There were 3 calderas leading down into a core on the map, maybe one for each of the 3 superabnormals from Will's vision? And it's apparently a group that doesn't trust vampires, maybe abnormals that preceded the vampires rise to dominance?

I really can't wait for Breach next week, the preview looks great. :)

I thought it was funny when Helen called Tesla Dobby and thought it was interesting that the episode aired on the day HP and Deathly Hallows Part one came out because of the Dobby line in Animus. I know that it's more than likely coincidence but I thought it was just interesting.

Overall I though the episode was really good.

Excellent episode. Finally we got to see more on Henry and got to know more about his character. I think they did an amazing job with his transformation and handled it very well. I'm glad he finally has someone to relate to in a personal level. I hope they don't kill the girl cause I actually like her for Henry. I'm getting ahead of myself. The Will/Henry dynamic was great, they work great together and have fun scenes. One thing I love about this show is how clever it is, the hollow earth thing genius, as is Tesla. Magnus and Tesla as very fun to see, their banter is awesome.

Tesla: What am I your house elf?
Magnus: Thank you Dobby.

There was so much ...cuteness in this episode. I found it cute and huggable and awesome (yes, even the icky wherewolves ;)) and it made me laugh.
Loved both the A- as well as the B storyline and I liked that they're both important in the long run.

Oh... Tesla.
And oh... Henry.

Great ep. :) :D

Ok I'm not even sure what to write.
I loved this ep. The HAP looked amazing. I loved that they made it look like the person :D
And of course Tesla and Magnus :D I like that he's even more reckless then she is lol
Lets see what happens if I press this lol
Really great to see the story line moving along. As well as a little insight of how Magnus and Tesla work so well together and as scientist completely lose themselves in what they are doing.

I really enjoyed this episode. I have to admit I was a little worried about a Henry-centric episode. Not that I don't love Henry, I just worried about his character's ability to hold the A story and keep me interested. I thought the A story was good, but not great. Maybe a 5 out of 10. I guess I expected the werewolf thing to be a broader-reaching conspiracy. I wanted to see something like an underground (figuratively, lol, given the B story ;)) society that kept itself hidden and controlled something pretty major like world financials or something rather than being limited to a single mental hospital in England. *shrug* Ah well, knowing the Sanctuary team, this isn't the end of that.

What I really enjoyed about the A story? Will and Henry together. I just think their relationship as friends works way more for me than the Will/Helen partnership, but I'm not trying to fan flames here, so that's really all I'm going to say about that. LOVED the bro-buddy trip. :)

LOVED the B story. So excited to see what they do with it. Loved the Harry Potter reference. I also am still giggling over Will's referral to "Magnus and the Magnet" when he and Henry were conspiring to go to England. Magnus and Tesla just had me grinning like crazy. There's just another level of awesome when the grownups are on-screen together. ;)

As for next week:
SO EXCITED for Breech. Need me some major Helen whump. ;)

Oh and I am absolutely loving all the new XX writers on the show this year. They are kicking arse and taking names!

But I still don't understand exactly why she (the blond woman - I forgot her name) did this. She could have just give them diazapam (how ever you write that) without giving them a drug to make them kill. Was she just hungry for power or something?

I actually think the drugs all the patients are taking are just to suppress the werewolf from coming out. If you go back and listen to the first scene, Liam tells Joe that he has been feeling off all day and the doctor gave him a shot. Later you find that he had been resisting treatment. There's something in the shot that causes violent behavior and for the lycans, that means transformation as well. It seems she only does it to people who break the rules and to help remind everyone else why they should stay on their meds. I don't think the woman was actually evil - she's one of them. But she certainly believes that side of all of them is evil and would do whatever necessary to keep the status quo.

For me - this episode TOTALLY. ROCKED!!! I was very intrigued with the Henry storyline. I loved that all lycans are great with electronics and very smart and handy. A race of geeks! I'm glad that Erica (the niece) didn't end up dying. Would love to see more of a relationship develop for her and Henry.

Magnus and the Magnet - what is there to say? How do you NOT love these two?!?!? I loved their banter. I love that they're BOTH geniuses. I love the Harry Potter reference. I cannot wait to see how the search for this city plays out. :)

Ok, so I'm probably gonna get slammed for this because I'm not usually so critical of Sanctuary episodes and let me just say for the record it was a GREAT episode from a Henry standpoint. Werewolves are not my favorite abnormals, I like em just not the best but this is really well done and it was nice seeing Henry in the thick of things.

My major problem with the episode were the characters were acting a little out of character for me. Maybe it's just because Magnus wasn't there for the A-storyline, I admit it but come on folks really think about it. Henry gets permission from Magnus to just go to comic-con for goodness sakes, he's the go to guy for all her tech plus Will is a bit like a goody too shoes most times and he is Helen's protege. We know from last season they both get permission from the boss to do things and they just stick a little post it on her computer and say 'we're going on vacation, later'; that just strikes me as so untrue it's not funny.

Add to that Will 'allowing' Henry to check himself into a psych hospital then when he can't get him out, gets cut off from Magnus his idea instead of going to get Declan and the team at least or at least fill them in is to wander around at night hoping to get chomped to bits by a werewolf, aka HAP.

And then additionally at the end Henry was intent on killing Will because of that drug Lillian gave him yet suddenly he has a thirty second fight with a female HAP (werewolf) and he's himself again, come on seriously folks :-(

My biggest problem really and maybe it's just something they'll address next week the Sanctuary now has a whole 'facility' full of people just like Henry, Will's been scratched up on his chest and Henry was experimented on AGAIN and no one thinks or Helen never things to make a phone call and say 'Hello, post its aren't gonna do it this time?'

Why it was nice seeing Henry's backstory I have to say I enjoyed the B-story much more and just because Helen was in it but because it didn't have those OOC (out of character) moments for me, minus Helen forgetting the city for thirty seconds and finding out how her people are of course.

Hopefully for me personally this is the episode lowest of the season for me, I even liked Warriors better myself.

In one word: AWESOME.

In my opinion, this episode is the best Sanctuary ep this season. And to me that is saying a lot. This season has had the best edge of your seat entertainment ever!

But the ultimate awesomeness was the scenes with Helen/Nikola. Those two are a riot when their on screen! :D I can't wait to see what happens with the map and how they find this "inner world".

If there is one thing:

I can't wait until Breach. :D The ep is going to be awesome.

as I understood it, the 'boss' of the facility used drugs to control her patients. and when she needed to convince the 'kiddies' to take their medicine, she'd drug one of htem to act out, using it to scare the others into behaving.

For example, they never knew that they can control when they wolf out. They can consciously turn it on and off with some training and experience. They'd been taught to fear who and what they were because she used fear to control.

Henry and the sanctuary can train them not to fear who they are, but accept who they are, and through acceptance comes control

Very good episode. :)

I like how it started in that, for lack of a better word, institution, and I believe that one guy was from Stargate. :) I can't say I'm surprised that Kate and Biggie weren't in the episode, considering they were doing their episodes. The Will and Henry side of the episode was very well done, I think it gave us a good look at who Henry, and it was good hearing him talk about how he's come to terms with his werewolf side, and how how can control it. Seeing Declan in the episode was also a treat, I'm glad he was there to give the boys a hand. The fight with Henry and Erica was cool, and I knew right there she had stopped fighting her other side and used it for good. I'd like to see her back, since I think it's safe to say she has a thing for Henry. :p

As for Helen and Tesla, I enjoyed all their scenes, Helen's "And you bath too. Thank you so much" and "Go fix my house" were my fave. :D But what was that name Helen called Tesla when she was walking away? I think when Tesla is around, we see a lot more humor to Helen than we normally see, and I like that. It's cool to see Helen sleeps with a gun in her room, and that scene with them in her room was great, as well was her "Now get out" line. :p One thing I really liked was that Tesla was more concerned her safety and his when they bomb showed up, all because it could detect the source blood in them. I love how Tesla used that as an excuse for Helen to get close to him. :p As soon as Helen said "Gateway" I thought of the Stargate, and I thought that 3D hologram of the Earth was wicked. ;)

Overall, it was a really good episode, and the hour went by rather quick. ;)

In Harry Potter, one of the characters has a 'house elf'...aka domestic slave for lack of a better term. His name was Dobbie (or Dobby)

when tesla said 'i'm not your house elf' he kinda said 'i'm not your slave' and helen's reply 'good night dobbie' was pretty much 'yes, you are now fix it before i kick your tush' (In a nice way of course)

Really enjoyed this episode. Magnus & Tesla were on top form. So many witty lines in their bantering. Thought the werewolf story was interesting too. Nice to see the will/henry dynamic. My only slight gripe is how Henry got control of himself during the fight with the werewolf chick. Seemed a bit too easy to overwhelming the effects of the medication he'd been given. I'll be interested to see if the girl re-appears later in the season.

Amanda: [joking] Holy Moly! Damian Kindler hates me! [Laughter]

Amanda: [muffled] Damian has a vendetta and he does it in a very not so subtle, let's write a crazy script kinda way. Yeah, it's a biggie. We talked about it but it's... I get beaten up in this one episode called Breach and we shot it at Riverview Psychiatric Hospital and it was very cold and we were in the tunnel and we found a dead rat, it was wet and I was soaking wet and fighting. We had fight sequences and I did a lot of my own stunts and I use a chain and I had a machete and a hammer fight, I was... it was just nuts what I was doing and yeah I got, I really go beaten up. I actually got thrown up against a wall at one point and it took me about three months to release my neck, so I look like this [laughter] for a few of the episodes. But it was really fun. Yeah I went home every night feeling I worked today.

You make excellent points & I thought of those inconsistencies as well. It was like they had to go OOC to make the story work and I never like that.
That said, I did manage to mostly put those things out of my mind and enjoy the episode. It just would have been better if they had worked out those problems. :(

I liked Henry taking front & center--nice job. And I always love the Magnus-Tesla interactions. :D

But I am a bit concerned that we're getting set up for a "Journey to the Center of the Earth" story. The possiblilites for cheese abound.

I'm really enjoying how the show is revisiting old legends/myths, etc. ... such as the Hollow Earth one. That's been around for years. It'll be interesting to find out how this plays out. I love how Tesla figured out the keys to the hologram.

And just as a side note, ... was that a leather dress Helen was wearing in one of the scenes??? :)

The comic con videos. And about every interview she's given lol
But I'm pretty sure she mentions in it in the comic con videos.

As for the drug wearing (sp) off, Henry showed a lot of control when he was taken prisoner by the Cabal and we really dont know what she gave him. Henry said he burns hotter as an HAP so maybe the fight made it burn out. Or maybe its like a seditive, fight or flight response "turns it off"

maybe adrenaline overrides it?
I was thinking about the 3 super calderas

one has to be Yellowstone, the other in africa and the great rift valley....so what is the other super volcano?

I think there's about a half dozen or so 'super volanoes' around. Yellowstone's caldera is like 20 miles wide. it's massive. and the last time it cut loose, we had ash fall all over North America....they found ash layers in the midwest, so it effected hundreds of thousands of square miles.

Did I miss something? I don't recall it being said anywhere that they were all going to live in the Sanctuary. It's wholly possible I did, since I was not paying entirely close attention at the end of the ep.

By them having a whole facility full of abnormals aka HAP's to deal with doesn't mean they live at the Sanctury but it is Sanctuary staff who are helping them at the end of the episode namely Will, Henry and Declan and the support staff so it's most likely that they'll keep tabs on them considering they are just what Henry is and the last of the Lycan people as they said in the episode.

As I also said perhaps they'll address this in next week's episode but I just find it hard to believe that Helen hasn't even been 'appraised' by what's going on, a phone call anything but of course maybe that's just me. It just seems her staff took a little too many 'liberties' considering she's the boss and especially considering she's been like Henry's mom...you'd think they would have shown them at home or on the way and he's at least talking to her on the phone; even one side of a conversation would have made it a little more in character for me.

Isn't that why there are so many Sanctuary houses over the world? Helen is the big boss, but each house has a leader. This fell under the jurisdiction of the UK Sanctuary, and Helen can't be involved in every little op that goes on in every part of the world. Sure she probably gets reports about what's going on, and she'll definitely be getting a first-hand report about that incident, but there was a bigger storyline being set up for her that was more important to be told, then a 'debriefing' about something that was over and done with for the moment. Altho' with the Sanctuary writing team I have no doubt we'll see a call back to this in future eps if there ever was a need for it. :)

True points previously said as I said originally I'd probably get slammed cause folks really seemed to like this episode and I'm nto saying I'm right...just sayin' from my perspective it was too OOC for me, especially for Helen. I get she can't be everywhere but this involved two people from HER facility therefore she is the boss that needed brought into the loop. Kind of like being at work and instead of telling your supervisor you go over there head to their supervisor...sooner or later someone is gonna be upset.

Just my opinion of the episode of course, different strokes for different folks like they say. LOL

in one way I can see how it'd seem a little odd for Henry and Will to supposedly just go off with a note on teh monitor 'off to the uk, we'll call'
On the other hand, Helen was also enthralled by the city and tesla and possibly saw the boys leaving more as 'i'm getting away from your annoying friend' than anything else.
Especially after the whole Columbia issue, she probably looked forward to avoiding having ot deal with Will and his 'always has an ulterior motive' and Henry being annoyed with Nikola.
I think the boys took any advantage to get away from Tesla (as possibly did kate and biggie) and Helen was grateful to be rid of them (in a nice way) simply because figuring out the city and dealing with Tesla was going to take all her patience

* excited to learn more about this city - really liked the way they had to deal with 'stages' to learn more... and ofc how they both outwitted it to progress (by 'hiding' from detection)

* loved Henry's story, and seeing him with Will it's nice to see their friendship has progressed and there seems to be more trust between the two of them

* like the possible romance between Henry and Erica (although on a side note, in some ways I was a bit disappointed because I liked the Henry/Kate chemistry last week)

* is it just me or do the werewolves look different? vaguely remember us seeing Henry-wolf-like in... ''Edward'' I think it was... although that was Edward's perception? I just expected him to look like that

Absolutely adored the Helen/Nikola side of the story... I just can't get enough of the two of them on screen together... also it seems like when they're alone together they seem a little... warmer... not sure if thats the right word to use.
But they seem more comfortable around each other (which is understandable given how long they've known each other). Like someone else said - Helen seems to show more humour and be more cheeky, and I think Nikola seems a little more sincere / caring around Helen when it's just the two of them, it's like he isn't quite as guarded.

Having said that, Nikola is still Nikola - and I loved the flirting and the cheekiness and the underhandedness of it all (that's a word right?) :o And am I the only one to notice a pattern in Nikola eps - a bit of snark, a bit of flirtation, and Nikola happy to save Helen's life when it comes down to it? I love that about him, and I loved that this time she was going to stand by him and work out how to stay alive together :D

But I should stop waffling... to summarise, my fave episode of S3 so far :D

maybe adrenaline overrides it?
I was thinking about the 3 super calderas

one has to be Yellowstone, the other in africa and the great rift valley....so what is the other super volcano?

I think there's about a half dozen or so 'super volanoes' around. Yellowstone's caldera is like 20 miles wide. it's massive. and the last time it cut loose, we had ash fall all over North America....they found ash layers in the midwest, so it effected hundreds of thousands of square miles.

The Yellowstone Caldera is about 40 miles across which just shows how much damage it does when it errupts.

As for the episode itself for the most part I like it. I kind of feel that Henry's werewolf side has been neglected before. I seriously forgot that he has mental control over himself when he turns into that animal. That shows how little I remember and how much more need to be explained. So like I said I like him going to this faculity and able to explore the mind and his feelings about being who is. Although I am more then a little confused what the whole point of the antagonist. First she is all about stopping people leaving her facuility and the preservation of her kind by whatever means but then she not only allows her niece to fight Henry but let them all go thier ways. It needed a little bit more explanation to be honest.

As for the Helen story it was kind of funny. The Tesla banter is always quite funny in the dry wit they give one another. Plus I kind of like how they developed the arc. We knew a little more but not more. We know thie ancient city detests vampires (and given Tesla I can't blame them) and that it is somewhere underground. It would have to be quite deep for humans to not know of its existence. But what is good is that some answers were given but their are still lots of question..

If their is one compliant its that visual effects for wolf Henery and his love interest were just plain terrible. But I don't let those kind of effects bother me for a story but they were still bad.

i enjoyed the ep! :D

even though i like all the characters, i always seem to go into the 'not helen centric' storylines with some :S, but just b/c i know i'm going to miss seeing more helen. :p

randomness -

*nice henry-will friendship.

*WONDERFUL helen-tesla stuff!! :p amanda and jonathan work wonderfully off each other.

*i'm glad henry got some action, and i mean of both kinds. :p i even liked the girl. (though i'd prefer him with kate)

*the other world/hologram city scenes.

*i'm not sure 'why' the director of the hospital was doing things the way she did. i just don't really understand her motives and how she went about them that way. she's holding onto her ppl, but by scaring the crap out of them?

*my main issue with the ep was, once *again*, will going off to do things on his own. even henry doing it again. it's not that they can't do stuff without 'mom' being there to protect them :p, but will *so* knows better than to go into situations without backup. he's learned his lesson before. *bops will upside the head* :p

all in all, another solid ep, from a very solid season! ;)

I know it was mentioned about Will and Henry just going off on their own without getting permission and the such, but i'm rewatching it and, they tried.

Will left helen a note, and she mentions that he's been leaving her notes for hte 'past few days' and that they have been 'absorbed' studying hte city.

then will tries to call her and report in, just as tesla dumps the sanctuary into darkness. cell reception is down Helen says.

Declan knows it. He apparently has access to know that just the house is off line, but that hte abnormals are fine. He knows where henry and will are, and is standing by if they need help.

basically, Will and Henry were feeling out in the cold with tesla and helen studying the city. they went off to amuse themselves, tried to follow protocol, but complications from the city messed with that and Declan knew where they were and to bail them out of needed

Right now the only really stupid thing i'm seeing is will wandering in the woods, in the dark, apparently hunting for HAPs.

Love this ep. Anthem did a superb job yet again with the graphics - that holographic city and the werewolves are just wicked. :)
Love Will doing his British accent. :)
Love Henry...need I say more. :) I love that he has a new family..."We're family now - dude" :) I love that the others like him are going to be able to go off and live normal lives.
I wonder what Declan was going to do with the Lillian.
Love the banter between Helen and Tesla though I hope they don't ship them...I still prefer John & Helen but I just love the banter played off between these two, the way they do it now. :) Although I have to admit, seems to me that Helen is warming up to Tesla...
"And you bathed - thank you so much"
"Don't get any ideas, I'm too exhausted to even banter with you"...cute scenes. :)
Love Tesla...love how he is able to fool Helen with how close she needs to be...and the bedroom scene...too cute. :)
Helen's wine cellar is depleted yet again...make note - send more wine!! :P
Tesla's use of the word "pater" - love it!!!! :)
When Will says' We're just a couple of blokes on our holidays - whatever"...with the word "whatever" said with a Cockney accent - you can almost see him smiling ear to ear...no correct that...you can see Robin smiling like a chesshire cat even though his back is turned to us...cheeky bugger. Robert was brilliant. :)
Love how chipper Helen sounded when Will called in...she seemed quite happy to hear from him - cute! :)
"Good luck with the ex vampire" cheeky Helen - clearly a fun moment as Helen or was it Amanda who had to bite her bottom lip from grinning. :)
Favourite line -
Tesla - "What am I your house elf"
Helen - "Thank you Dobby"
I wonder if Helen always sleeps with her gun. :)
I'm gonna have a guess here but to me it looks as though the caldera's might be in north and south America and perhaps Africa...are they what leads to the center??

Can't wait to see Breach - any previews to watch for this ep yet? :)

so, when lycans wolf out, they shed their clothing.....where does it go? No where in any of the wolfing have we seen a pile of tattered and torn clothes.

and why did erica's hair go short, THEN long when she changed back?

and i have another question, but that's better suited to HAP smut fic, so we just won't go there ;)

LOL

They did theytry to bring her in the loop. Right as Tesla broke Magnus's house. After that she was out of contact because of the EM pulse. Not sure why she didn't have someone call Declan/Will and say there was an issue, but all is well. Especially as Will was cut off and couldn't get in contact with her.

Actually Suse they 'tried' to bring her into the loop and when he lost contact Will's answer was for Declan to tell him 'the abnormals are secure but the house is broken, I sent a maintance team'. Will's actions were 'oh ok well henry is locked in a psyche ward full of crazy people and I'm going to wander around in the dark woods all by myself and hope to talk a werewolf out of eating me if I run into him.'

Just not my favorite episode, seemed to be disrespectful to the Magnus character to me and that upsets me a bit no matter how good it was to see Henry's backstory but perhaps I'm just overly sensitive about it...no idea.

Fun show, enjoying the mythological/technological aspect being entwined into it. Maybe it's those agents that broke into sanctuary that reside down there. Personally, I thought it was hilarious they were doing that. Especially as it was true, she'd been totally ignoring the boys for almost the entire week. And who wouldn't want to play hookie for a few days when the boss is otherwise occupied with her shinny new toy and entertaining playmate. I was like, 'Go Will, Go Henry!"

There's so much potential using Oldham as a location because of the moors.. werewolves and moors go naturally together! Missed opportunity there.

Here's a transcript of Amanda talking about that. ;)

Interviewer: I'm looking forward to the episode with the torture and you go through the wringer...

There's a vid for it, can anyone find it?

I know I'm a little late in my post, but...

What a great episode all around!

Plot A - Henry finally discovering some other Lycons and even being their hero, getting the girl too (although what about Kate ). Seeing him go wolfy, the history and the whole script so very well done. He did a great job taking the lead in this episode!

Plot B - Helen and Tesla figuring out the location of the secret city and giving us more insight into it's creators. If Vampires have been gone for thousands of years and this city was built while they were around then how advanced are these builders now? The jokes between them was hilarious as well!

I remember when I saw Edward (great ep by the way) I thought: "Pls dont make him look like that when he chances". I really didnt like it and it was huge!!!

The HAP did look like an ape when seen from a distance. I didnt like that. But I really like that they made it look like the person.
And its not really big, like its not bigger then the person that changed.

I agree the season 1 wan't quite right but I think it is closer to what it should compared to the tall, skiny monkey that we got with this episode - Just my opinion anyway but I seem to be in the minority here

I've watched this episode 5 times and still cannot get enough of it! Love the interactions between Helen and Tesla. Tesla brings out the 'womanliness' of Helen apart from her scientific, logical self and it's not the first time he shows his genuine concern and willingness to sacrifice himself for her safety. Love Tesla!

What does the reference to "dobby" mean? I don't know that word.

She called him Dobbie

In Harry Potter, one of the characters has a 'house elf'...aka domestic slave for lack of a better term. His name was Dobbie (or Dobby)

when tesla said 'i'm not your house elf' he kinda said 'i'm not your slave' and helen's reply 'good night dobbie' was pretty much 'yes, you are now fix it before i kick your tush' (In a nice way of course)

Got my answer. Thanks :)

Question of the day - What do you think the title "Animus" refers to in the episode? I can come up with 4 possible references and was wondering what other people thought.

Definition of ANIMUS
1: basic attitude or governing spirit : disposition, intention
2: a usually prejudiced and often spiteful or malevolent ill will
3: an inner masculine part of the female personality in the analytic psychology of C. G. Jung

After reading the posts, I guess I was wrong thinking the Magnus/Tesla story was the "A" story :S Oh well.

I didn't like the werewolf story so much. I too thought it very odd for Henry and Will to go off by themselves. And they seemed more like frat boys on spring break than they've been in the show before. Hated the CGI werewolves, thought they looked horrible, except for the very first one in the opening scene, he was OK. Did like that Henry found some others like him though. Everything about Will was just odd - being Irish?, walking in the woods in the dark?, admitting Henry to the asylum??????

And do you think Helen knew about the asylum and was watching it when she found/stole Henry away? I wonder if the "Aunt" is his mother and he and his new girlfriend are cousins???? Perish the thought!

Didn't understand why the lady was keeping them locked up, thought she may have been cabal too like somebody else said. There seemed to be something more sinister going on than just trying to "keep them safe".

Liked there was no Kate. Didn't really miss Bigfoot either, the grunting gets on my nerves. Like Tesla, I think he can get to be too much if over used.

Loved the Helen and Nickola scenes. I'm wondering if the "inner world" beings could be other vampires who were enemies of the original source blood vampire. It would be a chance to get Tesla back to vamping if they were vampires. Mind you, I haven't seen any spoilers, so please don't call me a stupid idiot for being wrong and tell me what happens in Breach :samanime24:

I was having some serious Stargate flashbacks with the "ancient Sumerian pictographs", symbols flying in the air, and what looked like gate symbols in a circle once. The city reminded me of some of the industrial worlds shown on various Stargate episodes.

We got to see Helen in her nightclothes !!!!! At AT4, AT answered a question something like "Does Helen wear flannel nightgowns to bed?" with something like "No, no flannel. That's not her. It would be something like a long, black Le Perla (sp?) neglige." .....So, was what she wearing a "long, black Le Perla neglige"?

And Tesla just happened to end up in her bedroom? LOL Too funny. And yes, I believe Helen ALWAYS sleeps with a gun :samanime15: Wouldn't you with everything that she's been through?

All in my humble opinion.

I think she kept them locked up because like she said they had been hunted almost to extintion (sp). So she was trying to protect them but using the wrong methods (sp).

As for the tittle I thought Animus was latin for animal? Thats what it sounds like to me. Animal or something along those lines.

Heh. I wasn't aware the differences were so drastic in appearance. Comparing them now, the S2 werewolf is way cooler than the 'mangy dog' look of S3. Definitely wasn't impressed.

Someone brought up also how they thought if odd that Will and Henry would go off on and adventure on their own. Wasn't Kate and Biggie off on assignment/adventure together themselves? Not sure if it was the same on the same level, but my point is that they do go off alone without Magnus when need be.

I think lillian started out with good intentions....keep the Lycans locked up safe from the rest of the world. but then some would leave and they'd change and there would be the police and she'd have to hide and lie, so she started to discourage them from leaving, and eventually she started to manipulate them into staying

I don't think she was evil, just desperate and she lost her perspective and likely saw the death of one every few years as a price to pay to save the rest

Just a few quick notes on the ep. All in all a good episode.

Love the Tesla/Helen story, their interaction are gold! I did get the feeling Tesla hadn't been the only one tasting the wine ;)

The werewolf story was nice, RyRo did a fantastic job.
As for the CG version of him, I do like the one presented in earlier seasons better. When I saw the first one in this ep I though it was different bc. it was of another branch of the werewolf tree than Henry is, but apparently not.

And we do need more drunken Will playing air-guitar on a stick, just saying.

Did anyone recognise the music used for a second after Henry fixes that radio? It was Beethoven's Fur Elise. LOVE that piece.

Weird they used FE for the season 2 episode End Of Nights pt1. It was the theme for the doctor with Ashley. The first scene she puts FE on from her phone. Then each scene with the doctor has it in the backround.
