Trying to hide a giggle Anne covered her mouth, she bent and picked up her pack and rifle and stood, being probably the eldest, well there was Todd, but he mostly seemed like a post pubesant teen so far. A little edgy, cranky. She could deal with that and made up her mind, she made sure she was first out, excusing herself as she went. Once she was outside, she breathed the fresh airs, wooded hints somewhat like home filled her. She took a lungfull and detected pines, eucalypt and beech fragrances, along with others she could not name.

Looking around at the town, it was if time had just stopped. Everything seemed normal, except there was not a living soul to be seen or heard. Anne turned back around and waited for the others, but not before she claimed her partner. "Commander Todd, you can be my escort please." She smiled her sweetest smile.

{Todd}

Though he doubted the need for an additional shot of antihistamine, Todd acquiesced anyway then waited until Keller had finished before flexing his hand and arm muscles. “Thank you.” He said quietly, still not entirely at ease with the fact that he was being treated by a human. “I have never imagined that my long-term health would be one of your concerns Doctor but I do appreciate the effort you are making anyway.”

But any response Keller might have made was lost as Sheppard’s request that everyone find a partner rang though the jumper. Todd smiled. He doubted anyone would willingly choose him as a partner so he merely followed the first of the humans down the ramp, curious to see what this world would hold. The cool, clean air immediately filled his sensory pits, a welcome change after the artificial air he had been forced to breath on Atlantis and he threw his head back to take full advantage of it's cleansing freshness.

He had just begun to survey the landscape when a voice entered his consciousness causing him to turn and look down at the human female standing directly in front of him, smiling in his direction. “I’m sorry Doctor MacGregor, did you just ask me to be your partner?”

Lifting the rifle on it's sling to her shoulder Anne looked at Todd as if a new light had sparkled on the universe, the crisp cool air and golden morning light played tricks with her eyes, there seemed to be some sort of halo around the Alien man, an aura. No she was imagining things, she shook her head, she did miss her family and perhaps she was reaching out to someone, anyone. "Yes Todd I did thank you. I won't get in your way." She pulled out her pistol, checked the safety and and magazine and replaced it, satisfied it would keep her safe it need.

Even though Anne ranked senior to John, she was a doctor first and always, military matters she left up to those who knew what they were doing. "Colonel Sheppard, is there anywhere in particular we should be searching?" She called to him.

Grunting softly to himself, Todd decided MacGregor would be as good a companion as any while they search this world. The potential was there to glean more information from her that would, at the very least, increase his knowledge and understanding of these humans who had come from another galaxy.

But while he nodded towards her in agreement, his voice was tinged with sarcasm. "Indeed and despite the concerns of some of your colleagues, I give you my assurance that I am quite safe to be around."

Finally out in the open, John cinched up his leg holster, picked up his pack and adjusted it on his back, he thought for a moment, he didn't know why, but he was going to requisition the SGC for some Zat's to be sent to Atlantis. Every little bit helps he thought. Somewhat surprised to see Captain MacGregor had chosen Todd, he looked the small woman over. He own pack looked like it would topple her over and she was no youngtser either. But from what he read of her file, she would probably carry her pack and someone else's as well. What was it O'Neill wrote "As tough as old boots, but pretty ones" Well he was right about pretty. John knew he had that "Kirk" reputation, and if the doctor wasn't married to the the SGC's new Fleet Admiral, well.....

He wanted to make sure that everyone, each team was not far from the next so he made sure the disperals were not too wide. "Doctor, if you and Todd take the north end of the village that would be fine. Telya, Ronon, east toward the forest. Jennifer, you can take Radek and help him set up his intruments in the town square, check for any energy anomilies...or whatever it is you do." He looked back into the Jumper to see where McKay was. "Mckay?"

Mckay looked back at Sheppard "Just checking i have everything" and he picked up his laptop and slung it over his shoulder and as was his habit he looked around one last time. "Ok, i think thats it, you know i still think this is a waste of time" he said as he walked past Sheppard and into the sunlight of Baku.

Zelenka and Jennifer started to walk towards the villiage square, the little scientist looked a little bogged down with his stuff and from a distance you could see Jennifer taking some of the equipment from him to help.

Teyla nodded at John's order and looked at Ronon. His eyes seemed to be more focused on the Wraith than anything else. She sighed, which caused his attention directed at her.

"What?"

"Nothing. We need to go."

"Yeah, I heard. It's just..." He gestured toward MacGregor's team.

"Ronon. She will be fine." Her voice sounded somewhat impatient, if that could be said of Teyla.

Ronon wasn't so sure, and followed her rather reluctantly. They set off toward the forest in the east, as per orders. Even if neither thought they would find anything there but nice scenery. This truly was a pretty world, Teyla thought, as they walked.

Settling her pack on her back, Jennifer gave a nod of agreement, pleased to be working with Radek. The Czech was always pleasant company, and a very smart man, despite what Rodney was fond of saying. All in all, she liked him, and considered him a friend - to them both.

The final hints of morning mist burning off promised a fine day, and she orientated herself, checking for signs of life. For anything which would indicate this was something other than dead. First impressions were not good.

"Are you with me, Radek?" she called.

Setting off towards the village at his usual pace, Todd quickly realised that he needed to reduce the length of his stride if Doctor MacGregor was to keep apace of him without breaking into a run. Still intrigued by her request that he act as her escort on this part of the mission he watched her out of the corner of his eye and was immediately drawn to the look of intent interest on her face as she surveyed the surrounding scenery. "This village is very different from the type of settlements you are familiar with in your own galaxy I assume?" he asked in a matter of fact tone of voice.

Aware Zelenka followed in her footsteps, Jennifer waited by the exterior of one of the houses while he caught up with her. The windows stared out at the square, thrown wide open, and the curtains fluttered against the wood, captured, moth-like, stirred by the breeze. It was so quiet, all she could hear was the buzz of insects as they flitted from one bloom to another, already eager to continue work, and the murmur of the rest of the team as they fanned out. It wasn't right, not right at all... Where were the children, the animals? And the door? It was ajar...

Jennifer felt her heart speed up, and a fine slick of sweat blossomed over her skin. Nerves beginning to get the better of her, she decided on a bold move and pushed the door wide open. It flew inwards with a bang, but there was still nothing.

Moving over the threshold, Keller glanced around. Whoever lived here had left in a hurry. On the table, a half-eaten meal, overturned drinks.

"Radek, have you found anything outside?" she asked, turning to face the scientist as he came to stand at her side.

Radek approached Jennifer just as she spoke, he was carrying a piece of equipment who's purpose, only Radek knew, he looked down at the screen and sighed "Nothing, a whole lot of nothing" he looked at the empty room, it was like time had just stopped here
"Looks like they were taken suddenly, no warning, the Pasgard could do that, but i dont understand why there are no animals, not even bones, just no trace, unless the Pasgard took them to help feed the people while they experimented on them, there is no use letting your subjects die" .He stepped into the room, a few rays of light came thro the windows, lighting a little of the table and its contents, he picked up a cup, it was half empty, he replaced it on the table and gave a heavy sigh
"I wonder if the others are having any more luck?" he headed back towards the door and as he passed Jennifer he said
"Id better go set up in the square, and see what i can find, maybe some residual energy from the beaming tech, if it is them"

"Good idea," she said, and moved further into the small cottage. There was every chance there could be a clue in what was left behind, something vital they could miss if they didn't search thoroughly. Still, it gave her a queasy feeling to be going through someone's house, like she was some sort of voyeur doing things she really shouldn't.

Mckay looked back at Sheppard "Just checking i have everything" and he picked up his laptop and slung it over his shoulder and as was his habit he looked around one last time. Picking out a direction and ushering Rodney along, John fely uneasy about this place. Pasgard yes he could go with that, but there were issues that pressed against his mind. Someone had to have been able to escape their notice, the foothills were full of caves and a lot of the loggers had used them as ovenight camps. Surely these Asgards evil dopplegangers weren't that effeciant. With that in mind he headed slightly south and east. "Rodney, have you got a life signs detector with you?" He asked as he started up a low sloping path.

Mckay

Mckay pulled one out of his jacket pocket and brandished it in front of Sheppard, he was going to say something sarcastic, but he saw the look on Sheppards face
"You dont seriously think theres someone still here? we would have caught it on the first trip" he activated the LSD and moved it around, its screen was showing nothing at first, then, Rodney stopped, two dots appeared "were picking up two life signs" Rodney said incredulously, he pointed and looked at Sheppard"East, about 3 clicks, their moving slowly, and towards us" "how could we have missed them? must be some sort of natural shielding in those caves" and he moved past Sheppard as he spoke, holding the detector in front of him and watching the two little dots on the screen
