I have a question? Has the atlantis team brought zat guns with them? They could cetrainly try to shoot bad guys with that.

If they did they haven't used them, shown them or spoken of them.

No. The Atlantis team didn't bring Zats with them. Two main reasons:
1. The producers want to keep Atlantis and SG-1 two separatea and distinct shows. By bringing in the Zats to Atlantis, you begin to blur the distinction between the two shows.

2. They brought more than enough ammo for the P-90s (as well as other weapons) to keep them in good straights until the Atlantis team is able to procure new means of protection through trade agreements (or heaven forbid they actually start nagging stuff from other races).

And who's to say that a Zat will have the same effect on the Wraith (or other enemies) the Atlantis team runs across. It seems that the P-90s do a pretty good job at punching holes in just about anything, Wraiths included.

I could be wrong in my assumptions here, so feel free to comment as you wish.
