There're a few actors that have been reused a few times, through both SG-1 and Atlantis. Some of them three or four times.

Who really cares? If youve not got the imagination to differentiate between the characters an actor is playing in various series / films then you really shouldnt be allowed to watch television.

reused actors is a staple of television

Vancouver is a tiny actor community. It's inevitable that the same actors aren't reused.
a) there aren't that many
b) if the writers/producers come across someone that they work well with, they tend to rehire that person

The only issue here, in my opinion, is Ventrell was a bounty hunter working for The Lucian Alliance, and could have just been written in.

However, the attitude and character of Varro seems vastly different, so that seems to be why they decided to just make a new character.

I think it would be neat if varro and ventrell are related its perfectly feasible
