View Full Version : No military in the "mutiny"?

I was surprised, and perhaps a bit disappointed, that the writers had no SGC military supporting the mutiny. I half expected that there would be at least one involved so that Young would really be screwed with regard to how to proceed. His choices with how to deal with military personnel would be drastically different from what options he had for dealing with civilians.

If this series really wanted to be darker than previous Stargate shows that would have been an excellent opportunity. I suppose with the demise of Sgt. Spencer that opportunity was lost.

G.

Sgt. Spencer isn't dead.

He's the one who killed himself in Justice.

General Jumper One,

I agree with Mike. He looked pretty dead when they zipped him up in that bodybag. Why do you say he isn't dead?

JOHANSEN: You lost someone under your command.

YOUNG: Most recently three people - Gorman, Spencer and Rush. It happens.

SGU Transcript from Space - Young doesn't mention Riley among the people dead!

General Jumper One,

Isn't that Sgt. Riley? Sgt. Spencer is the Marine with the bad attitude who shot himself.

That bothered me as well. I find it hard to beliieve that muinity was so cut and dry as civilians (minus 6) vs the military.

While I think that would have been great story-wise, this episode showed us that there really are only a few of the military. At least that's the way it seemed. Less than a dozen, right? Or did some stay behind on the raid?

I was wondering where they keep Spencer ... it's still on the destiny ?
