HELP save Legend of the Seeker

As a long-running fan of SG1 and SGA, I thought I would champion a relatively new syndicated fantasy show called Legend of the Seeker to you guys.

For those of you not aware, the Show is based on the Sword of Truth book series by author Terry Goodkind and now the characters have been bought to life by the likes of Sam Raimi in Legend of the Seeker, currently nearing the end of Season 2.

Its eleventh hour for the Show, so I'm posting the "Save our Seeker" Petition Link here to beg some of you to support the campaign to bring it back for Season 3 and to urge you to check out the Show for yourselves.

Its such a little gem and has the same cast chemistry that I fell in love with in SG1/SGA with a lot of magic, action, drama, humour and romance thrown in for good meausre.

As an habital shipper myself, I promise any shippers who've been persistently denied a canon romance you will not be disappointed with Legend of the Seeker. Richard and Kahlan have one of those epic love stories with an angsty twist not seen on television since Buffy and Angel.

So, here's the petition and a few other links. Thanks for your time.

So they're saying it's going to be canceled? I admit I love the how but have found it hard to watch on TV as it comes on at odd times being syndicated. I just started reading the Sword of Truth series. I thought last time I checked the ratings had been going up and more networks had picked up the show, maybe season 2 hasn't gone so well? I've enjoyed it so far.

No. The production company is looking for a new market to air it in since Tribune pulled it from thier schedule

That GIF in the opening post sort of makes me want to kill the show and bury it in the woods somewhere...

Just for you I've taken it down. There's so much more to the show than romance. For a start the cinematography is stunning and the New Zealand locations are Lord-of-the-Rings-breathtaking. Take a look.

Your lack of Zedd makes me cry

Are you kidding? I love Bruce Spence as Zedd. His little looks and one-liners crack me up (another great reason to watch the Show and for the PTBs to renew it).

Zedd in the Season 2 episode Princess was just hilarious.

Just rewatched Princess last night. It was indeed hilarious.

Considering both Hercules and Xena ran for 6 seasons I was hoping to get at least that many out of this series. Especially with 11 books. With this in jeopardy, is nothing sacred?

I know. I only discovered the show recently and about two seconds later discovered that it was on shaky ground. Fantasy tv of this quality was well overdue and I was looking forward to following the show for several years.

I have no doubt most viewers will not be expecting cancellation. If I hadn't looked into it on the net, I wouldn't have either. I still think a lot of fans out are unaware of the situation.

To be fair its no much of a serious situation. When its cancelled then we can worry.

That's kind of the point of campaigning now. Very few shows come back from cancellation. If we can show the ABC bosses that there's enough of an audience, that its worth saving then we won't have to worry later.

Is it really that good? I have a friend who watches it who really doesn't care if it gets picked up for a third year. He loved the first season, but felt that the story did and should've ended there; that season 2 has felt really tacked on.

Not really. Very few of these fan campigns are cared about by the producers because of how many thier are

It was my understanding that the producers and executive producers are likely to be the people who care most. Its their baby, they do the legwork because they're passionate about their project.

But you are right, there are lots of fans vying for their shows. They can't all be renewed. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try. Farcape is a great example of a cult show being cut short and fan persistence paying off with the mini-series Peacekeeper Wars.
