In the great game that is The Petty JM's Blog to Gateworld Forum Transition Game, EvilSpaceAlien wins another round. PG15 swears revenge, and the riders ride off into the sunset, awaiting the pistol duel at dawn... Only one will walk out alive, hoping that he managed to actually kill the other - because that would be awkward if he didn't.

In SGU news, I'll be the first to say: "A resurgence of what, exactly?"

Grandpa? Grandpa?!

Well, at least Grandpa here saved all the past references to this episode that JM has made! :p

Here they are:

In other writerly news, Paul and Carl are brainstorming #6 and #7, while Rob and Remi look to tackle #8 and #9. Looks like Linda and I (or, more appropriately given the slotting) will double-team on #10 and #11, leaving Brad to tackle #12.

http://josephmallozzi.wordpress.com/2010/02/11/february-11-2010-production-update-olympic-update-mailbag/

…while I [Joe Mallozzi] begin tackling the freshly-broken story for episode #10.

We broke my next story last Thursday (I’ve landed the first part of the mid-season two-parter) and planned to work through the weekend, but hit an impasse about halfway through the second act and ended up setting it aside on Saturday. Then, last night, I decided to take advantage of all those leftover Lush products from Akemi’s visit and settled into a nice, relaxing bath – and ended up working through those second act problems. I completed the outline today.

In the meantime, we’re keeping busy on the home front. […] Remi, Linda, and I muse over our respective outlines.

Resurgence eh? Intriguing...

"a new increase of activity or interest in a particular subject or idea which had been forgotten for some time"

Hmm I think that definition would apply more to SGU in general after a 4 month mid season hiatus :P

Although: "An instance of something resurging; a renewal of vigor or vitality" that sounds interesting ;)

Got most of the notes for my Resurgence outline (episode 10) and, while I’m still a little leery about the third act, I’m just going to forge ahead. I feel it might be a little short but Brad was quick to point out that I thought Incursion would be short – and it turned into a two-parter.

Yes, they sometimes do. PG reports everything because it's good to have updates on this stuff. Months back, JM once went on about the content of Life, Time and Space in one blog, and from that we got huge teasers of the upcoming episodes. We get episode titles, tantalising spoiler teases - hell, bits from JM's blog have allowed me to piece together what's happening in upcoming episodes more than any other trailer or any other source.

I doubt that it will be the resurgence of the aliens from Space, for two reasons.

1.) I think it will seem like too much of a repeat of Space, and the producers have said that they want to tackle relatively original stories with SGU.

2.) Before SGU started, I think the producers were toying with the idea of having one season as the Destiny travelling through one galaxy, and if they have decided to go with this idea or a rough version of it then it would be that by the mid point of season two they would be in a new galaxy. Therefore, I highly doubt that the aliens from Space would show up.

Alas, not much progress to report on the script front. I’m stilled mired in the Teasely morass of episode 10, Resurgence. For once, I’d love to write an episode that doesn’t include any of that pesky dialogue. Just pages and pages of action direction, meaningful looks, and people crying. And the occasional explosion.

I took the opportunity to float my idea for a little character thru-line that I felt needed to pay off following the events of recent episodes. Thankfully all were on board and I’ll be able to move forward with the scene as planned. Episode #10, Resurgence. Still early in Act I.

Excruciatingly slow going on the script front. Still stuck early in Act I, spinning my creative wheels in frustration. It’s times like these I regret not having pursued my childhood dream of being a detective. If I was offered ten million dollars never to write again, I would gladly take the deal. As a matter of fact, make me an offer before I have to complete this latest script, and I’ll settle for 7.5 million. Come on, haters! Put your money where your mouths are! Remi Aubuchon doesn’t have 7.5 million to spare but kindly offered to kill me and thereby obviate my need to finish the script. I turned down the offer. Paul suspects that a week from now, when I’m agonizing over Act III, I’ll come to regret my rash decision.

So the plan was simple enough: dedicate the day to completing the first act of my script. I’d already hit the twelve page mark and really only envisioned another two or three pages to go before landing on that Dum-Dum-Daaaaah moment that takes us to commercial. Two or three pages. And I had an entire day to write them! How hard could that be? Well…

[...]

We watch the dailies and, finally, I’m back in my office. I actually start work on the script, revising the already revised dialogue from the previous scenes and am about to break new ground when Andy poked his head into my office and suggests I join them in the writers’ room for VFX Supervisor Mark Savela’s show-and-tell.

[...]

Tomorrow! Tomorrow, I’ll finally finish that first act.

Well, that’s the plan anyway.

I’m pleased to report significant progress on the script front! After countless weeks of frustration, desperation, and sleep deprivation, I’m finally in the stretch run and that oh-so-elusive Fade Out is well within striking distance. I spent the day rewriting what I had (something I do while pacing which, I’m told, makes me look like an actor anxiously running lines before an audition), then forged ahead and finished up Act IV. I pitched out the possibility of shooting a four act script instead of the usual five (“Think of how much time and money we’ll save!”) but others were reluctant to embrace my brilliant suggestion. So I headed back into my office and, after much consideration applied myself and made some inroads – two whole pages! – into that fifth and final act. Granted, I did it by moving my Act IV break up “two whole pages!” but still, it was progress and I was happy (and, I’m sure, you’re all happy for me). Tomorrow, I aim to close the deal and leave the office with a rough first draft I can agonize over tomorrow night. Wish me luck!

Alas, no progress on the script front today. In fact, just the opposite. Remi handed in his first draft of episode 9, Visitation, and some of the character developments in that episode impact several scenes in Resurgence – meaning I’m going to have to reconsider my attack on the scenes in question. Also, I suddenly realized that the information I was hoping to keep secret from character X would have been all too obviously to him the second the agreement is made – and that necessitated my going back and re-attacking that scene as well. LOTS going on in a fairly complex story and the challenge has been to clarify without complicating, inform yet entertain, deliver one of the most mind-blowing Visual Effects extravaganzas to date and NOT blow our budget.

Success! I finally completed a first draft of episode 10, Resurgence. It’s a little rough, granted – but it’ll do. I’ll spend the weekend revising it and deliver it on Monday. Normally, it takes me about an hour to write the fifth act (usually in a white heat, coming off the momentum of the fourth act break), but this script was anything but normal. It never got any easier and I ended up spending the afternoon writing and re-writing those last five pages. But the important thing is that I’m finally done and pleased with most of the results. And as for those aspects of the script I’m still a little iffy about – well, I’m sure I’ll grow to love ‘em.

I don't mean to be demanding or can't think of the word. But I know you guys take the time to find all the things pertaining to these episodes and respect your hard effort and work, but is there any chance to filter through the contents of those excerpts? Like put the half mentions, indirect mention, or cast/staff mentions of a certain episode in one quote labeled as such and the actual content of the episodes and the plots of them in another quote or even spoiler labeled as plot details or something?

PG15
May 2nd, 2010, 02:52 AM
Well, the thing is, most of the "spoilers" for an episode will be these small mentions for a long while until they actually start making the episode. Detailed spoilers only appear when they start casting, usually.

When the detailed spoilers come in, you'll know about it - the thread will start to grow rapidly. In the meanwhile though, it's just going to be small mentions, like this one from today:

As I reported yesterday, I finally have a (rough) first draft of my script, Resurgence, episode #10.

I’m going to go over it a few more times, tighten up the dialogue, and try to strip away some of the visual effects. As it stands, I count thirty-five visual effect shots – which would be fine in the old days of SG-1 when two-thirds of them would end up being simple zat blasts, but in this case, there aint nothing simple about some of these sequences. If ever there was a candidate for an episode to receive to the 3D treatment, Resurgence would be it.

As I was about to head back to my office, I noticed the first draft of my new script, Resurgence, sitting on Ashleigh’s desk. ”Have you read it yet?”I asked.

“No,”she said. ”I was already gone by the time it came out last night. Lawren was working on it late. I could hear him commenting on it in his office. Stuff like “this is terrible” and “what an awful script”.”

“Lawren said that?”I asked.

“Ohhhhh,”she said, her eyes alighting on the script’s cover page as if for the first time. ”Is this YOUR script?”

See?! This is what I have to put up with every day (except weekends when she refuses to see me)!

Although this doesn't particularly pertain to Episode #210, I have a question and can't think of a better place to ask it.

Has anyone taken attendance up in Vancouver with regards to who's made it back for season 2 filming? I get the feeling that we will be losing some series one characters and gaining some new series 2 people. I can never figure out whether this type of question is allowed, although the thread says spoilers. I realize some guest stars aren't up there through out the whole filming, but wondering about the others.Twitter accounts for 4, curious about the others?

You’ll be pleased or indifferent to hear that I completed my Producer’s Cut of Awakening this afternoon. My fellow producers will screen it tomorrow and no doubt declare it brilliant after which we will send it to SyFy who will also love it and insist I “not change a thing”. And that’ll be that. In the meantime, I shift gears to completing my rewrite of Resurgence.

Spent about an hour in editing today, tweaking my cut before sending it out to the network. In the end, I wound up adding a few more visual effect shots: a) to help tell the story and b) because they’re going to be cool. Now, I’m finally able to switch gears to that half-finished rewrite of Resurgence. I was aiming for Monday but, after some consideration, I think the script would benefit from a couple of extra (or should I say missing) scenes. [...]

As mentioned, I’m still working on episode #10, Resurgence, that visual effects extravaganza.

How many visual effects can you spot in an episode? Can you spot them all? Sounds like fun, right? Well, turns out a VFX spotting session is less a game of Where’s Waldo than an often laborious process involving the producer, editor, and various visual effects personnel squeezed into a tiny editing suite, gathered around an even tinier monitor, timing and discussing each and every visual effects sequence in an episode. Should the shot be longer? What direction is the ship headed? What kind of a camera move do we want to see? Does the VFX shot match with the preceding shot? Does it match with the ensuing shot? Was the shot budgeted? By the time we finished, it was 90 minutes later! I might have to set aside the entire day for Resurgence!

Meanwhile, Paul has started work on the second part of the mid-season two-parter and he’s elected to abandon all three place-holder titles “Resurgence II: The Heretic”, “Resurgence II: Electric Boogaloo”, and “Still Resurging” in favor of the much more understated “Deliverance”. Brad is working on his rewrite of Twin Destinies following our marathon morning mind-bending discussion. Carl’s on set hanging with the guest stars for his episode, The Greater Good. Linda is working on her rewrite of Alliances while Remi has started fleshing out one of his new arenas. Rob should be in post, working on his director/producer’s cut of Malice. And, with my revised draft of Resurgence out, I am looking ahead to my next story…whatever that may be. I’m thinking musical.

Take the episode I’m presently working on: Resurgence. The writers had beaten out the story and I was in the midst of writing the outline when I came up against a TBD. A TBD, for those not-in-the-know, is a story element that has yet to be fully realized, a crucial albeit mysterious little piece of the narrative puzzle whose details are shelved for future identification. Like, say, when you actually sit down to write the outline. TBD. To Be Decided. And it was time to decide. I spent the better part of the morning wracking my brain, trying to come up with something clever and cool (and made sense). And then it suddenly dawned on me. Hey, why am I so miserable? We have a Creative Consultant! Why not make him miserable too?

I sent off the following email to John Scalzi [note: in order to avoid giving away any spoilers, I offer a slightly edited version of our exchange].

“Joe Mallozzi here. I was sitting at my desk agonizing over my latest Stargate outline when it suddenly hit me. Hey, why don’t I share the love and have John agonize over it as well.

So the basic premise has Destiny [redacted]. While [redacted], they [redacted] that opens [redacted]. They [redacted] in [redacted]. The reason? Well, here’s where you come in. I was discussing the idea with Brad and we threw out the idea of [redacted] that [redacted]. Of course, the big question then is why doesn’t [redacted]? Perhaps [redacted]? Alternately, we were considering the possibility of [redacted], a result of [redacted], that somehow [redacted] between the [redacted]. Thoughts? And, no we can’t have space dolphins magically appear and [redacted]. I already pitched that out and, for some reason, Brad wasn’t enthused. I think maybe Battlestar already did it.”

Moments later, I received a response from John:

“First, this show’s bias against space dolphins SICKENS me and always has.

[Redacted] won’t work tremendously well because [redacted] without something to [redacted] (and [redacted] would [redacted]).

But I did think of something that might work for your purposes; Destiny, as you know, has [redacted]. Why not [redacted]?

Opportunities for drama include:

1. Redacted

2. It can give you a “[redacted]” issue, in either a) there’s [redacted] and/or b) you can have [redacted];

3. Either way it’ll have to be [redacted] who [redacted].

Let me know if this helps.”

Well, you’ll no doubt agree, this helped tremendously. I wrote back:

“Love it. However, I need the [redacted] to be [redacted] so that they don’t simply [redacted]. I want them to be [redacted]. That said, what would be the likelihood of their being able to [redacted]?”

And he replied:

“If [redacted], I think it could be pretty likely. Just have your [redacted] be [redacted], and have that [redacted] be [redacted]. [Redacted] a lot [redacted].”

So. there you have it. A rare glimpse a the creative process at work. Magical, isn’t it?

Anyway, I wrote the script and received John’s notes on Thursday. All great. I’ll be incorporating them into the next draft which comes out next week.

Speaking of which – I fear that this script may end up being a little short. Anyone have any suggestions for an extra scene?

Prep week for episode #10, Resurgence, kicked off today with a 9:00 a.m. concept meeting. Those in attendance included all department heads, Director Will Waring (yes, apparently he IS directing this one), my writing partner Paul (who sat in to get a sense of who will be where on that new set), and yours truly. Assistant Director Alex Pappas ran the meeting, guiding us through the script, stopping only to direct questions my way or regale us with tales of his youth spent as the Entertainment Director of a local Buddhist community center. As Paul predicted, we ended up mired in the “Who’s where?” logistics of the new set and, after much discussion and dialogue tweaking, it was decided I would have to offer detailed positioning of each player in my next draft. I actually ended up sketching out a handy diagram in the margin of each scene to keep it all straight!.

Today’s game plan was to finish the rewrite of Resurgence. Yesterday, I got as far as the top of Act V before running out of steam. So, all I had to do was finish that final act. Seven measly pages.

Well, the day is done and here I sit, staring at the top of Act V. Wha- happened?

First, there was that 8:30 a.m. Playback meeting. Digital Effects Supervisor Krista McLean tried to keep things lively by incorporating hand-outs into the proceedings: layouts of the beautiful new set, its seemingly endless playback possibilities, scene by scene breakdowns of who’s doing what where and what they see, and big framed single sheets for doodling (which I honestly didn’t think we would need but did end up making fair use of). Ninety minutes of Level One Badness, Level Two Badness, and Level Two Badness With Fritz later – and we were done. Next time, it’ll be puppets and dancing monkeys.

The 10:30 a.m. Visual Effects meeting was fairly tame in comparison – which is kind of surprising given the number of visual effects in this episode. 17 pages worth in the initial VFX Budget hand-out! Will and I trimmed out those shots we felt were unnecessary, but there is still plenty of eye candy for the discerning space battle aficionado.

By the time I sat down to resume work on the rewrite, I had a slew of notes from the morning meetings to incorporate into the script. And once I’d incorporated them, had lunch, and given Paul notes on the second part of the mid-season two-parter (Deliverance), I was right back where I was yesterday – at the top of the fifth act.

Michael Jones writes: “How much as a writer does having a standing set that you can walk around does writing the action that takes place in that set? Do you think that standing sets give you a better feel for the way a story should flow?”

Answer: Depends on the set. If I’m writing a scene that takes place in one of our standing sets, I don’t need to make the trip over to Stage 4 for a refresher. If, on the other hand, I’m writing a complicated scene that takes place in our new set – as was the case with Resurgence – then I will head down and walk through the action (or, at the very least, consult the plans helpfully provided to us by Playback).

Although I personally don't see it, this episode could refer to the Alliance Resurging as a major threat, if they make due with the subtle hints about attacking Earth. Could have something to do with someone stoning to the ship and telling them something major is happening. It would be something that would take up most of Earth's focus, and thus not much time for Destiny, but I fail to see how that would affect Destiny; unless it means the LA on board act different or something.

And I'd have to clarify that this would have to mean the LA has gained some kind of strong advantage that we don't see them having at the moment.

Or perhaps they just infiltrate and steal a communication stones box, which means stoning is at risk of either ending up at Earth or wherever the LA are.

Could also mean Simeon somehow and tries to take over Destiny (ironically using the bridge as everyone else knows of it by now, thus proving Rush right about hiding it, heh).

Lastly, could refer to the Blues taking some stronger action against Destiny. Although I'm personally thinking that the Blues will play a major role in the Blockade and Gauntlet episodes, "blocking" Destiny's path with a ton of ships. This season does seem to be building the Blues as the primary enemy, though.

Chloe will continue her transformation.

"That takes us to the big part one of our midseason two-parter called 'Resurgence,' where we find something off the path, and now that we have control of the Destiny for the first time we explore something that we soon find out we shouldn't have. And we end up basically caught in a war that has been going on between two races," he said.

Chloe succumbs deeper to the alien infection, knowing she poses a greater risk the longer she stays aboard the Destiny. But when a lost friend comes to the rescue it's no longer Chloe's alien abductors the crew has to worry about.

On Earth, Eli struggles with how to tell his mother the truth about what has happened to him. Wray (MING-NA) takes leave to visit Sharon but finds the distance is starting to take its toll on their relationship.

You got to be kidding me, Wray and Sharon in the Mid-season finale u serious?! :(

Yeah hope it will be Telford, but don't think he will still survive, the aliens probably don't eat human food, they just need the nests, and Telford will be starved to death. Horrible, I know.

A human can survive on water only for 30-60 days depending on how much body fat they start with.
The aliens likely have water on the Seeder ship. So if they are inclined to keep Telford around, the lack of food would not be an immediate issue.

Because when camille and sharon come up every 6 episodes it gets tiresome.... k.... I loved pathogen.. I LOVED pathogen.. I loved camille and sharon in pathogen... but this is literally the worst news about season 2 I have heard.. I really can't express how pissed I am... mid season finales/finales are supposed to be action packed episodes that keep viewers wanting to return... not rehashes of pathogen (really read the description"the distance is starting to take a toll on their relationship"... thats what pathogen was about..... ok.. brilliant idea... copy an episode and paste it on top of a seemingly good plot line right when you need to hook viewers the most.. not a half season later... the exact same season 5 weeks later!! I dont want Brad coming whining to the fans if the shows canceled... TPTB have brought it upon themselves.... Ill fight to keep SGU on air as hard as I can(SGU awareness campaign)... I think its a show worth staying on.. but if they get canceled.. im not gonna be sympathetic...

And call it a classic major D over reaction.. but honestly... im pissed... SGU just makes REALLY stupid mistakes.. so far there hasn't been a dud in season 2 so far.. last thing we need is for the mid season finale to flop..

Major D., seriously? Did you really just act like that?

Come on man, don't be like that. It was like some kid throwing a temper tantrum in the middle of a mall. Be cool.

Season/mid-season finales aren't just mindless explosive action film-wannabes; they are a look back at the last 20 or 10 episodes and a place to tie things up and expand on other things - the Wray/Sharon storyline is one of these things. It is a part of the show and it will be until the writers decide to wrap it up somehow, if ever.

Oh, and if "casual viewers" need BOOM-SHAKA-LAKAs so badly that they don't give a **** about the characters then **** 'em. I'd rather SGU get cancelled than cater to such numbnuts, if that is really how they are.

Kaiphantom
November 6th, 2010, 05:10 PM
So, PG15, you'd rather a show get canceled, rather than let someone else enjoy it? Despite what disagreements we've had, I've felt that you were better than that.

As a more general response, I recognize there are going to be aspects of the show I don't like, and from time to time, I'll express my opinion of that nature(disliked Cloverdale and Time; I hate "normal" shows and time-travel shows in general). It's how I contribute to the general fandom, because if enough people feel a certain way, then perhaps there is potential for change. But if the show ultimately goes a way I don't like, I'll just stop watching it.

Calling for it to be canceled seems like a bit too much of an extreme.

And I'll state that I don't care too much for the Wray/Sharon stuff, but it's just something I'll live with when/if it happens.

PG15
November 6th, 2010, 05:20 PM
You know, you have a point. I suppose it's not that much different from people who wants SGU gone to "protect the franchise", so to speak.

I take it back. Though, like you, if it does go in that direction I'll probably stop watching it as well - at least, on a regular basis. I'd probably catch up when I have time.

morbosfist
November 6th, 2010, 05:30 PM
I doubt the Sharon/Wray stuff is going to take up that much time, and based on the spoilers it looks like there will be more than enough exploration for most people to forgive the "distraction", so to speak.

I'm leaning towards the Ursini being the, for lack of a better term, not "new Big Bad" but rather the species at war with said "new Big Bad." It would tie up questions of their need of keeping the seed ship, were they researching it for use in their war. May also say something about their tendencies, not being evil, but fighting evil, in that they didn't kill the boarders of the seed ship, but used non lethal means of keeping it for themselves. Nothing so far has been said about new allies that I know of, and with only mention of one "new" species coming into play, and them being "Big Bad" that's as far as I'm going to speculate. Generally though, my speculation is a little off.

Honestly, though, he does have a point. Wray/Sharon strain was done in Pathogen, just a few episodes ago. At least Young's problem with Emily took awhile, and we didn't see things drawn out like this. And also, supposedly the whole point with the ending scene in Pathogen, was that Sharon and Eli's mom were going to talk in order to share each other's pain and help each other through this.

To quote Eli in Air: "Apparently, that did nothing."

Hey sorry about my overreaction im just pissed right now.. and its not because of Camille and Sharon.. Granted the Eli story actually has a point... something happens to him and he has to tell his mom... the Camille/Sharon part is pretty much exactly the same as pathogen... Ive said before I don't mind seeing the two but there needs to be a purpose... In pathogen there was a purpose.... In life... there was a purpose.. It doesn't sound like there is a purpose in Resurgence.. it just looks like its there because they needed to fill time or just want to throw in more elements to attract the male viewers. ;) :p

Anyways... season 2 is easily becoming my fav season of stargate.. ive been hard pressed to find something I DONT like about the season... but this really frustrates me.. I don't see any purpose to it.. it makes now sense. And last time they put Camille/Sharon in an ep where there was a cool and exciting Destiny storyline (sabotage)... it really detracted from the episode as a whole IMO...

Also.. im a little stressed.. ya I know.. I have other things to worry about in my real life... but stargate is teetering on the brink of cancelation.. Right now.. there are 2 scenarios that will happen a month from now..

1) SGU is renewed and right afterwards.. Revolution and Extinction are greenlit...

2) SGU is canceled and any SGU movie or SGA and SG1 movies are further delayed...

And the deciding factor of these are the live ratings for SGU.. so much depends on so little.. and ive talked to someone who have the stats for these episodes (like ratings breakdowns).. they say they actually see a change in viewers in the slower scenes...

If it helps the ratings literally.. IM ALL FOR IT... ADD THE LESBIANS.. AND THE ONE LEGGED MAN.. AND THE HALF MAN HALF WOMAN.. FOR THE LOVE OF BUNNIES.. DO WHATEVER IS NEEDED.. but SGU needs viewers so bad.. and im not sure if this is gonna help... :S

Could be, but for some reason I don't think we'll see the blues this half of the season. The browns however are very likely to be involved in this battle. BTW isn't this ep suppose to introduce some new baddie?

probably something happened in this meantime and he does not know how to inform her - or he does not know how to tell her that he will never go home

Spoilers for "Malice"
I think it will go about that he will tell her that he had killed Simeon because of what he did. Everybody thinks Rush will do it, but I´m sure Eli will get him when everybody already thinks it´s all over.

Do personally not think that it will be Eli to get rid of Simeon, but your idea is a good one. It may really be difficult to admit to your mother that you killed someone even if it has been to revenge someone you loved Looking forward to see the final episode to find out :)

I can picture Simeon being brought in by Greer and James through the gate and Eli comes forward , takes out a gun and blows his ******* brains out. it would be awesome if that would be the way it's gonna get down but I doubt it

From TV Guides Sci-fi preview:

In Stargate Universe's mid-season finale (November 30), the team stranded aboard Destiny is finally able to fly the alien ship out of its predetermined path — but that could be a bad idea. "On their way, they find a graveyard of damaged ships from a huge, long ago battle," says Brad Wright, exec producer of the Syfy show. "Unfortunately, their arrival on the scene restarts the fight." Colonel Telford (Lou Diamond Phillips), last seen stranded on a hostile alien vessel, is mysteriously back to help with the dire situation.

Interesting.

So, if Rush had continued to keep the bridge a secret, they never would have flown the ship off course and thus could have avoided all this. How many will die because they didn't trust Rush?

LDP: Yeah, it’s interesting. Once again, it’s like, “Okay, what have we not revealed to the audience and what have we filmed?” Just the very fact that you and I are speaking and I’m finishing up the season lets people know that Telford is not dead. The last time we saw him, he was with those aliens on that seed ship. How he gets back, why he gets back, in what form he comes back, all of this is yet to be seen. I will say that it’s very exciting and it’s very fun and I think people will be highly gratified when Telford makes his inevitable return. I’ve said it before, he’s like Stargate Universe herpes. He can lie dormant for a long time, but he will flare up and irritate you and complicate your life.

Not sure if someone posted about this (tl;dr), but here goes:

One of the races will definitely be the "boogers" (are we definitely calling them that now, or do they have an actual name?). Here's my evidence:

First, the ship in "The Greater Good", containing pods identical to those found on the seeder ship:
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101110152408/stargate/images/3/37/Spaceship_(The_Greater_Good).JPG

Second, the concept art for the ship graveyard in "Resurgence":
http://josephmallozzi.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/img_6261.jpg

Now, if you ask me, the ship in "The Greater Good" has a very similar design to the ship in the lower left of the concept art for "Resurgence". Maybe when they get the CGI effects in, the ships will look even more similar/identical.

As for the other race, who knows. To me, none of those ships looked like the "smurf" ships:

They are actually called the

by Joe, but that could be a joke.

I sympathize with Major Davis. I think that the season mid-breaks are not a moment for character development. I believe that in this type of episode they have to put to use all they have learned. Ow well while the crew fight for their life and mine too i will deal with my relationship. So they break up. What gives? Whats the point for this episode. It coudl have happened on another episode. Now, if it is just a note, a passage like young divorce i will be delighted.

Yes it is :D.

But I was thinking: if only Chloe can make the necessary calculations, what happens if they get there and Chloe has completely transformed into a blue alien and she won't collaborate anymore to get them the necessary calculations to get back to their 'mission' course? will Destiny automatically go back to the original course? or will they be stranded there unless they find out how to get back?

B]All is not as it seems when Destiny follows a remote energy signature that leads them to a sea of damaged and lifeless ships. [/B]
Destiny detects a remote energy signature originating from an area outside its set course. Dr. Rush believes it could be coming from a potential new power source or could be a sign of intelligent life arguing that whatever is out there could prove to be of great benefit to the crew and Destiny's mission. Col. Young reluctantly agrees and permits Dr. Rush to manipulate navigation and take Destiny off course.

After a day in FTL the ship reaches a sea of wrecked ships, the carnage of a centuries old battle. With no visible signs of danger, Lt. Scott, Msgt. Greer and Volker set off in the shuttle to take a closer look. Eli uses Destiny's systems to recreate a simulation of the battle only to discover the debris is not what it seems.

Wray takes leave to visit Sharon but finds the distance is starting to take its toll on their relationship.
