    Howl - News/Speculation/Discussion

    Fox developing werewolf series Howl

Dreamworks TV is preparing a new werewolf show for the Fox network.

Howl is written by Joshua Miller and M.A. Fortin, and described by Dreamworks as "an epic family saga about warring families of werewolves in a small Alaskan town."

"Alaska is a place where people disappear and now you know why," Miller explained. The series aims to reflect the current changes going on in America, with Miller noting that "metamorphosis and constant change is the basis of werewolf mythology," with Howl being "about the psychology of living with change."

Previous series that focused solely on werewolves, rather than a combination of monsters, haven't usually lasted more than one season. Fox is hoping that the current interest in lycanthropy sparked by the Twilight movie New Moon will help sell the new show.
