Anyone else surprised that the stones weren't used?

I have to admit that I was surprised that they were left out of an episode which seemed perfect for them.

They could have brought in a forensics specialist, an actual prosecutor and defense attorney, or even just Telford to run the show while Young was up on charges. None of that was done.

    I'm not complaining. Just surprised.

    regards,
    G.

by the time you get those people all settleied ep over and you lose the rush B story

I think it was one of those things that really did not need to be explained on-screen. It's a little like the end of "Time", when things are so implicit they don't need to be shown.

the stones were used...off screen by Wray. good thing they didn't show all the details / scenes from Earth this time.

TJ said that a forensic specialist wouldn't be able to be much use since they had no equipment to do a proper analysis. As for the lawyer and so forth....I'm glad they tried to work things out on their own for a change.

Still surprised they weren't used (much). The writers could have put them to great use and chose not to, which I guess I am applauding.

It allowed for some interesting story telling and a few dramatic scenes between some of the emerging cast members.

They were used - Camille used them to talk to her IOA overlords. Just 'cause we didn't see it doesn't mean they weren't used...

I was under the impression Camille went back to Earth via the stones, talked with the I.O.A. about their predicament with the murder, but TPTB chose to leave it off screen for more time for more important stuff.

Yes, they were used. However, my point is that they were NOT used as a major part of the episode. There was no introduction of Earth based specialists. There was no scene of Young being interviewed by O'Neill. Wray's use was off screen.

Considering the complaints of extensive stone use in other threads, it came as a surprise to me that they were not used more.

                    regards,
                    G.

It was a very pleasant surprise, but they still talked about the stupid stones. Those stones should just break.

No I wasn't surprised. And regardless of what everyone says I don't mind the stones, they give me O'Neill cameos!

Well they said they contaminated the scene already. And even if they didn't.... Eli found the suicide footage before they would of called earth anyways.

The stones were not shown on screen, which led to one of, if not, the best episode so far. The stones were nice for a few episodes but it was starting to get a little repetitive and frankly boring (last episode). Heres to a freak accident which leads to the end of the stones.
