    Source Code - News/Speculation/Discussion

Gyllenhaal and Moon's Jones team for Source Code

Acclaimed Moon director Duncan Jones is set to work with Jake Gyllenhaal on the science fiction thriller Source Code for Vendome Pictures.

When the project began life at Universal in 2007, Topher Grace was originally attached to star in Ben Ripley's screenplay, about a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter, and has to live and relive a train bombing until he can work out who caused it. Shane Abbess had been tapped to direct

The latest version of the script has been revised by State of Play's Billy Ray, and will be distributed by Summit Entertainment. Mark Gordon will produce alongside Vendome's Philip Rousselet and Jordan Wynn, with Source Code expected to begin production in spring 2010

Well I hope he actually got a budget for this film.

His Moon film was excellent, I hope this one will be equally as good. The idea is a bit unoriginal so it will be interesting how he will shake it up an put a original twist on it.

Not about the film but it about Vendome Pictures http://www.screendaily.com/rousselet...041710.article

from that it seems this film will have a 10-40 million dollar budget. Better than the million he had for his last film.

Farmiga, Monaghan tapped for 'Source Code'

Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan are in talks to star opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in sci-fi thriller Source Code.

Moon's Duncan Jones is directing the film based on a script by Ben Ripley and Billy Ray. The story finds Gyllenhaal's soldier waking up in the body of an unknown commuter and reliving a train bombing until he can find a way to stop it, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Farmiga, who stars in this week's Up In The Air, will play a communications officer in charge of the solider, while Monaghan is his love interest.

The Summit Entertainment movie is scheduled to begin production in Vancouver this March.

        Jeffrey Wright joins 'Source Code'

Actor Jeffrey Wright has reportedly joined the cast of director Duncan Jones's Source Code.

Wright joins the already cast Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan in the sci-fi film.

Jones announced Wright's casting on Wednesday via his Twitter.

"Just met with the lovely Vera Farmiga and Jeffrey Wright. Feeling quite thrilled to have two such scorchingly good actors in Source Code!" he posted.

Source Code stars Gyllenhaal as a man reliving a train bombing over and over again in an attempt to find the culprit.
