Great interview David. Hopefully, during the exploration of Atlantis they'll find an Ancient skate park. :D BTW, I like the added sound effects at the beginning and end of the interview. Nice touch.

Excellent interview David. One of the best ones GW has done. Very good questions. Joe was very talkative and gave interesting, in-depth answers. He’s definitely a must interview again in the future if possible. Again, great work David. :) Enjoyed reading it. I’ll have to go back and listen to it later.

Glad they didn't go with Bob. :D

Merry Christmas, everyone! This one's our little gift to our loyal readers. Thank YOU for making us who we are today. There's so much more planned for next year

Rocket, glad you noticed. After we had a break in the audios I decided the wormhole open/close and musical score handles are going to be the motif for 2005. Each of the handles should correspond with the interviewee from now on (unless I get hugely bogged down). i.e. if we ever get to interview Patrick Currie, I'll insert the Replicators' theme - definitely one of my favorite pieces of music from the franchise.

GREAT interview. Thanks David. Joe sounds like he's becoming more and more comfortable with the role and with the show and I can't wait to see where they take his character in season 2.

Really - he should get a skateboard moment in Atlantis. RDA got to ride the bike in the halls of the SGC so it's only fair.

And I kind of like "Bob". Maybe Brad will let Joe name the next one. :p

Execellent interview David. :) Just finished listening to it. Great stuff.

It will be interesting to see everything discussed especially if we get to see Joe using his skateboard. :D "Bob"! ;) I think that could have worked too! lol

I can't wait to find out more about season two and everything they'll be doing. I look very forward to seeing and hearing more. :)

It's a shame that they didn't capture two really.

Spoilers, The Siege Part 1 and 2
In the fight against Atlantis, the team find and capture a Wraith and Sheppard nicknames him "Bob".

So TPTB and Joe both get their ways. :D

Joe and I shared some interesting issues that week we recorded the interview - approx. 3 weeks ago, a little less. Both of us had family in the hospital at the time - he might've even been IN the New York hospital when we talked. My uncle died the next night, but I believe his situation faired better. So we were both wishing each other's family well. He actually extended his sympathy to my Mom, who was very touched.

Lovely interview, David... you sounded very natural throughout..

Joe sounds like a thoughtful, judicious person...

I enjoyed it very much especially the stuff about his four year old.

His children were an aspect I had never heard him really discuss before, and we were moved that he was willing to talk about them with us. That's a personal thing, and rightfully so!

Having that guy as Dad must ROCK!!!!

Perhaps, but as cool as he is, I would probably miss him while he was away at set so much. I remember stories Kate Mulgrew told of how her two boys eventually stopped watching Star Trek Voyager in protest to her being away for so long. It really damaged her relationship with them.

There are some quality interviews on this website. Thanks David, your sites awsome.

If ever you want me to help out with interviews let me know, Id be happy to help, doing voiceovers one of my jobs in the UK.

We intend to break our personal record of interviews next year. It's going to be quite a job but we're relentless! I'm hoping that a higher percentage of them as videos.

Voiceovers?

Would that mean that the interviews would be shorter? Videos are usually very space consuming, aren't they? The thing I like about the Gateworld interviews is that they are fairly substantial compared to what I've read/heard/seen in other places.
Was it difficult to get hold of JF? Is it a lengthy process trying to get interviews with lead actors?

David

The interviews will never be shorter. Of course, an actor may only have a limited amount of time to chat with us, so one interview may naturally be shorter from another, but as a whole they will remain the same - if not get longer ...

Videos are very space consuming -- and time consuming in the editing bay.

Actually, it was not that difficult to get Mr. Flanigan. My normal contact source doesn't have Joe's info listed, but our friends at London Film and Comic Con were more than happy to exchange info with me so that I could get ahold of him. The tricky part was catching him in the states! Obviously they're on hiatus, and I was not told that he was going to be in New York, let alone outside of the West Coast!! So here I am, snoozing, and Joe leaves a message on my answering machine, then calls my cel phone. I'm in Central time. I was expecting the interview in three hours, and he's an hour ahead of me!

Obviously things worked out in the end.

Yeah my mom said "Save it! Save it!"

I said "Mom, I've already saved answering machine tapes with David DeLuise and Amanda Tapping. We're running out of micro-cassettes!!"

Auction it off at GW. I’m sure you’d get more than enough to buy plenty of extra cassettes. ;) Just a thought. :D

Though the tape would be useless with out the machine, but I’m sure some industrious fan could find one unless you’re willing to part with the answering machine as well. :D

Though the thought of having David's answering machine is better than having some old tape with Joe or Amanda or DDL on it anyway. Who are those people? ;) :D I'm not sure how we'd pry the one of Amanda from your hands. :P

*can’t contemplate the possibility of taping over Joe’s message*

Oh and excellent interview with Joe. Keep up the great work. :)

Nice interview. Joe comes across as very thoughtful about himself, his family and the show. I like that he's thinking ahead. Small criticism of the audio interview: I ended up switching off the audio and just reading it because I could hear David very well and Joe just barely. Perhaps some mixing of the tape wouldn't go astray?

I do apologize for the difference of volume and have found a way to correct the problem from now on. Thanks for your comment!
