Claire and Gretchen's friendship (spoilers !)

I don't post much these days but I felt I had to vent about this lol, so I apologize in advance Oh and spoilers for S4E5 below if you don't wanna know what was in the preview's or discuss it stop reading now

So for those who didn't see the preview for this next episode it shows
    Spoiler:
    Gretchen kissing Claire.

Now I kinda figured this was coming from the way they were building things up, but being irresistible to spoilers as I am, I decided to go check out what some of the pre-season spoilers said about this relationship. They don't really reveal much, but what bothered me was everyone's responses.

People all over keep saying they are only adding a lesbian relationship to get ratings, and that its not in Claire's personality, and that it will ruin the show...etc, etc.

This drives me crazy! First, I hate it when people judge something before they've even seen it, regardless of what it is. How do they know any of this before it airs? Give it a chance will you. I remember everyone saying Daniel Craig would be bad as Bond, but they shut up real fast when Casino Royale came out

Second, why is it every time there's a LBGT relationship in a show do people say "oh it was forced in there for no reason" or "it's just for ratings"? Those relationships exist IRL why wouldn't they exist in these fictional realities? Especially when Heroes is present-day Earth. The only fiction is their abilities, the rest is supposed to be realistic. That's the whole point: they aren't X-Men, they are everyday people.

Third, ALL relationships - and for that matter all TV - exists to get ratings. Duh lol.

Finally, I think this isn't counter to Claire's personality at all. Her relationships with boys have never exactly been smooth, plus they always seemed awkward. Maybe that was just poor acting on the male's part. But in any case, she always seems to have better connections with female characters. So much so that I thought they might do something with her and Elle last season.

But anyways lol...rant over...just bothers me when people say that stuff

What do you guys think of this potential relationship??

I'm going to wait an see how it plays out. Personally i dont have an problems with the idea of the storyline.

Apparently Hayden Panettiere reveals that she asked for the storyline:

Seems Hayden just wanted an excuse to make out with a girl.

I was kinda annoyed before about Gretchen being clingy and nosy...but now I can see there was an entirely different motive behind her being like that.

Hopfully it develops into a budding relationship. For the purposes of character development of course.
