Not wormhole xtreme-- but for the younger edgier cast in the ep 200 --
too many to count.... the nerdy guy who is afraid the military guy deosn't like him (eli and scott) the black guy who is too cool for words (Greer), the love triangle (porn chick, scott and chloe) the beautiful girl who wants to be taken seriously (chloe) yep 200 to the max! ;)

Not too sure about that :P I thought Eli and Scott seemed to be getting on pretty well, and the only time they really shouted was when Scott was after Rush.

Well there is a Stargate, doesn't look as funky as Wormhole X's but different.

Plus I think Rush might spit out, "Doesn't it say In Charge on my uniform?"

the black guy who is too cool for words (Greer) You mean Ronan.

I could be misinterpreting, but from what we've seen, I think that Greer is supposed to be a bit...unstable.

the love triangle (porn chick, scott and chloe) I just rewatched the "200" clip: there was no love triangle.

Also, I'm not really sure that a love triangle is going to develop: it's quite possible that James and Scott were just trying to scratch an itch and the only issue between them is how awkward it's going to be to work closely together afterward (I'm not sure how that wouldn't have been a problem back at Icarus, but meh).

the beautiful girl who wants to be taken seriously (chloe)
I think she was more concerned with the fact that her father just died ten feet away from her than whether she's being taken seriously.

air three has provided us with Eli and scott redoing a scene from 200: (ok I know it isn't exact, but bear with me....)
Air 3 transcript gw:
WALLACE (smiling bitterly): Truth is, I'm slowing you down and you wanna get rid of me.

SCOTT: I'm doing what I think will best accomplish this mission. You asked to come. I'm telling you how you can help me. Now suck it up.

WALLACE (nodding guiltily): Yeah, OK.

(Scott pats his arm. Eli turns to the rest of the group and his new team. He whirls his arm above his head and points in the direction they're going.)

WALLACE: OK, guys. We're goin' this way. Move out!

SCOTT (calling after him): Radio if you find the lake bed - we'll double back.

WALLACE: When you see the Statue of Liberty, you know what to say, right?

SCOTT: Right(!)

(He heads off in the other direction, talking quietly to Greer as he passes him.)

SCOTT: Now we can make some time

SGU has nothing in common with Wormhole X-Treme

And it doesn't have anything in common with the "SG1 90210" scene in 200 for that matter.

all merely in the eye of the beholder...it is such a ripoff of the sg:90210 scene in 200, it's not funny....alll merely IMHO of course. feel free to disagree! :D

I don't see him focusing specifically on Scott's approval. There are just as many scenes (more even) with Eli trying to aid Rush or Greer.

Diminishing Greer to the "black guy" is beyond inaccurate and borderline offensive. Greer is an extremely complex character that has not been even to the slightest degree shallow. The only similarity between Greer and the "black guy" on "200" is that they're both black, and they're both guys.

I don't recall any "love triangles" existing on either "200" or on "Air." We don't have any indication that Lt. James and Scott are "in love," nor do we for Scott and Chloe. All we have really seen is Scott and James have "forbidden-fruit closet-sex," which does not at all mean love, and we've seen that Scott comforts a girl when her father dies and she comforts him after nearly dying of heat exhaustion.

Also, I'm confused by the term "porn chick." I don't recall Lt. James participating in, or viewing any pornography on any of the episodes that have aired so far. Perhaps you could clarify that statement.

Your "beautiful girl" comment is to sexism what your "black guy" comment is to racism. Chloe is not "trying to be taken seriously," she actually was horrified by her father's efforts to put her in the limelight. The crew (for lack of a better word) seems to take her seriously all on their own. She's even invited back to Earth (via the LRC stones) by Col. Young. I don't remember her doing anything to artificially inflate her importance...quite the opposite.

All you've really done is write unfunny things down that aren't true. It would be like me saying "hey, wasn't it funny when Jack showed up on the ship in a dress!" It might have been funny if it happened...but it didn't happen.

I suppose, if you strip away the story and all the subtext you could see faint similarities, but that is true of both SG-1, Atlantis, and every single other TV show ever made. Ever. Most characters in the beginning are recognizable, cliche characters so the audience can easily identify with them.

But in reality, Universe is so far removed from 200's young SG-1 I can't really believe a comparison was made.

Off-topic, but sarcasm, widely considered a form of verbal irony, with its cutting remarks and language intended to mock and subject someone/thing to contempt or ridicule should be relplaced with tongue-in-cheek, which is generally considered to be more light-hearted and done without contempt/insult. In fact, most tongue-on-cheek statements/spoofs are done out of respect for a character/genre.

Not passing judgement, just clarifying. ;)

Actually Rac*0, you are very wrong about Greer being "the black guy who is cool beyond words".

He's the angry abusive black bad*ss guy who will turn out to be cool beyond words - if they don't kill him off first.

...and no, my tounge is not in my cheek. IMHO only. Not looking for an arguement or a fight. I just call it as I see it.

simple...I didn't catch the character's name... I did catch scotts (young was calling his name...not hers). I am not a double-standard kind of gal.... ;)
