If you were a writer... Beware of spoilers for SGA S5

Where would you have taken Atlantis? the series i mean not the city

The show never really did much for me and although i liked Shepperd and a couple other characters the whole series felt like a bit of a waste of time as far as story arcs were concerned.

So where would you have taken the series into season 6 and beyond?
    Meh.

I would definately have given the asgard another episode in season 5. I would have brought back the daedalus variations enemy back for season 6. I would bring back the Genii, (in a cool and shocking way) my favorite race, which has been absent in Atlantis for 2 FREAKIN SEASONS. And I would give the asgard some eps in season 6. I would bring back Kate, maybe for a two episode ark. I would do some cool one offs as well. And I would introduce a new high tech race.. cause we had very few races in SGA... and not many of them were high tech. So yeah. I guess that's it... oh and I would probably bring back the all female team. And I would introduce a new reacurring military character.. possibly female.. to Atlantis.

SO what do you think of my masterplan????

This is what I'd have done.

1: Beckett and Keller develop a working gene treatment so Wraith could eat normal food. Michael managed it so it's obviously possible.

2: Todd leads a faction of Wraith who take the treatment because they see it's the best hope for the survival of their species at the moment. The faction would also have two or three Queens.

3: Other Wraith refuse the treatment and are hostile towards the Atlantis expedition and Todd's faction.

4: I would also have introduced other Wraith who didn't die at the end of an episode so they could be properly developed as characters.

well, atlantis is the city of ancients so i would write story lines containing them. atlantis'es database has history section so i would put few ppl on studying it and would go to planets mentioned in it, and there must be a mention of pegasus asgard in there. i would try to make asgards friends by trying to help them and in that way decreasing amount of humans dying at their hands. i don't know about wraith they are written in such a dead end that the only thing you can do is wipe them out...

ps - this was the 'quicky' version

btw i have a feeling that a side story line in movie will be this - with the help of michaels dead body keller will perfect 'the wraith turning drug' and use it on tod, and they will set him free to show his faction that its ok, or keep him as a member of atlantis staff...

Have the team find Aiden Ford.

Sheppard and Jack team up against a Goau'ld Wraith.

Have Rodney accidentally walk in on Sam in the shower.

Explore the city more, the damn thing is huge and they under utilized this.

          Give more depth to Woolsey.

If I was a writer I would give the Asgard another episode and bring back the enemy in Daedalus Variations.

Pull a 'Dallas', and have one of the characters wake up only to realize that the last few years had been a dream. Except, I'd pretend that season 2-4 never happened and start from there.

                    Totally second that.

Finding Ford would totally rock!! Captured and experimented on by evil Genii Scientists. Sheppard has an obligation to go in and break him out.
In the meantime onslaught, the enemy in Daedalus Variations starts invading our allies homeworld. the enemy in Daedalus Variations were a byproduct of the immoral Asgards' testing in the Pegasus Galaxy. Ford once freed, tells Sheppard about the ancient Wraith 'the First' . The First is the key to the salvation of the Pegasus Galaxy. Jack & Sam comes in to help moderate with Woolsey an shaky truce between the Genii, Todd's Wraith fraction and the new coalition of free worlds in the Pegasus Galaxy. Back stabbing begins due to the knowledge of 'the First' gets out. Jack joins Sheppard's team in the hunt gating to world to world with immoral Asgard and the Wraith fast track fighting on their tail. All along to find 'the First' situated where we least expected. Meanwhile Sam decides to go scientific exploring & cataloging Atlantis with Rodney with so recently discovered locations. Rodney behind schedule due to his underlings screw up. Sam goes off alone, falls into a particle soil container. She comes back to get cleaned. Rodney being Rodney looks for her and accidentally walks in right as she gets out of the shower.

                      I would

                      1. Explore more of Atlantis
                      2. Reduce Keller to a secondary character again
                      3. Have more team episodes
                      4. Give Atlantis a permanent leader (preferably Weir)
                      5. Bring back the (evil) Genii
                      6. Leave the SG-1 characters be
                      7. Find a way to bring Kolya back from the dead

That's all I can think of for now... but there's lots of damage to restore!!

Well, ever since Atlantis finiched I have thought up a whole S6. Now in my fictional little-world, S6 is the very last season of Atlantis-and runs pretty much with Universe until the end.

Open the tagg to read the very breif episode guide.

                        Spoiler:
Power Play(1/3)-Sheppard, McKay and Woolsey along with a little help some from old faces, must convince the IOA board-including Dale Storm(UNIVERSE) that Atlantis should return to Pegasus.

Power Play(2/3)-The team puts forward their final argument and aniously awaits the IOA'S final descision.

Unforseen(3/3)-Atlantis, escorted by the Deadalus, returns to Pegasus via the Worm-Hole Drive. However, when they arrive at their destination, something is waiting for them.

That's just the 1st 3 eps. I'll post the rest later.

Todd and some other Wraith (possibly a couple of Hive's worth) take the treatment and the rest of the Wraith declare war. The Atlantis team help out by going into missions with Todd and some other minnions (like sabotaging bases/ships, or killing other Queens).

Learn more about the Asgard and possibly get them involved somehow.

Explore the city and discover technology that isn't a failure.

Uncover a race with tech about a hundred years ahead of our own, possibly like the race from the SG1 episode New Ground (3x19).

Reduce the McKay/Keller scenes (everytime something bad happens the camera doesn't have to focus on them exchanging soppy looks).

Give Teyla more lines (she is in the main cast by the way).

                            I would...
                            1. Move Atlantis back to Pegasus.
                            2. Bring back Ford (as a secondary character)
                            3. Improve the writing on the McKeller relationship so it actually feels like a real relationship.
                            4. Give the RepliWeir storyline a proper conclusion.
                            5. Have the evil asgard return

                              1) Daedalus Variations enemy. (In this ep we discover that what we saw are the NEW functional cloned bodies for the asgard.)
                              2) Exploration of Atlantis. (In this ep we discover an armory where we find ancient high tech weapons which include guns that fire mini-drones.)
                              3) Advance Civilization. (In this ep we discover a network of planets who have a device to screw with the life sensors on the Wraith ships.)
                              4) Groundhog's Day Ep. (In this ep we discover... well, every show deserves one. Lorne, Zelenka, and another none regular experience it.)
                              5) Introduction to new enemy. (In this ep we discover a new race that just arrived to the Pegasus Galaxy that travels from galaxy to galaxy for some unknown reason.)

and for the last one which is WAAAAYYYY OUT THERE because it would involve bringing Michael back. keep in mind, they never showed him die, just fall. plus, even if he is dead, it's a tv show, they can write him back in. lol.

                              6) Deadly Alliance between Atlantis, Michael (and his minions), and Todd (and his faction). The entire Wraith population/civilization forms a fleet and decides to wipe out Atlantis. The Wraith will wage a ware on Michael because he was the one responsible for poisoning their food supply. They would wage a war against Todd because he had teamed up with Atlantis before and is taking the gene treatment to turn his back on being a wraith. So we'll have the Deadalus, Apollo, Sun Tzu, and the George Hammond fighting along side Todd and Michael's Wraith ships.
"sir, we cannot name the ship the Enterprise"
