I was wondering about Goauld reproduction we know from hathor that a queen with a host takes genetic material from the intended host of its offspring in this case from daniel. We also know from egeria that self fertilisation is possible. However goauld weve seen such as klorel and heru'ur are the offspring of two goauld suggesting coupling in this case is was stated on the show that ra and hathor gave rise to heru'ur this couldnt have been done between two hosts as that results in a harcesis so how does this reproduction occur do both symbiotes mate somehow say in a tank? Does the male somehow donate a genetic sample to the queen?

well Amaunet couldnt be Klorels mother as she was still in a jaffa in the pilot and we are assuming that klorel was too. perhaps by son he actually means hes more of a younger brother or a cousin.I'VE GONE WIKI-MAD!!!!

Well, Amaunet was already deemed to be Apophis' queen before she left the Jaffa priestess who held her. That possibly points to Apophis just randomly choosing her - OR having her bred to be his queen. She had to take on a personality, but it wouldn't be evident before taking a host, so maybe the Goa'uld are PICKED to fill positions. For example: Apophis simply chose that symbiote to be his queen because he needed a queen and she merely took on the persona of his queen, much like Klorel would have taken on the persona of Apophis' son because he had picked him to do so. It gives a continuation to the Goa'uld 'generational pantheon and families' of 'gods'.
So, we can presume from that that Cronus' queen was Gaia (Or maybe a different name from a different culture but with a similar embodiment of that specific goddesses qualities and attributes)
Most of this is explained, or hinted at at least, in the very first episode 'Children of the Gods' - Ska'ara specifically translated Teal'c's speech (before the Goa'uld arrived in the dungeon) as 'they will pick who will be their children'.
So this idea makes sense - a Goa'uld needs some kind of help in attaining it's background story to amass power - hence the need for 'parents' or 'family members'. They share Jaffa, they share power, and as is stated several times the 'child' usually tries to overthrow and take all that is owned by the 'parent' Goa'uld.
This hypothesis can be aided by the fact that Tanith, a Goa'uld who was not 'chosen' by another to be his/her 'son', infact has no equivalent diety in earth mythology. He couldn't base himself off of anyone because he didn't know any better, no one informed him of the role he was meant to paly along with. But he was 'picked' by Apophis to be a spy - obviously whatever queen spawns off Apophy's kids puts in them the notion of seeking out the Tok'ra, fooling them and helping Apophis if they can.
So, we can assume that most 'major' Goa'uld would 'pick' the hosts for the symbiotes they choose to be their 'child' to maintain the godly illusion.

The queen in episode 6x10 'cure' was Egeria the mother of the Tok'ra. She was that big because she was attached to an egg sac whereas Hathor probably used her host's reproductive organs or grew an egg sac in the womb. Remember, in Cure, one of the Tok'ra gives Egeria a host to speak to people. In that scene we see the tank with the egg sac floating so Egeria was the size of Hathor.
