    Gambit spin-off?

We've all heard the rumors floating around about the Deadpool movie spin-off from "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." But those of us Gambit fans have had our ears close to ground listening for real news of a Gambit spin-off. Could this really be it? And Bryan Singer directing?

Donner says, "There are internal discussions" about a Gambit spin-off and "they are going to figure all that out."

Will Gambit & Rogue Hook-Up? Taylor Kitsch Talks Team-Up With Anna Paquin!

Taylor Kitsch thinks his “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” character Gambit would be prime fodder for a solo spin-off movie, even if the mutant isn’t making a return for “X-Men: First Class.”

The “Friday Night Lights” star already shared his proposal for a darker take on Gambit, but he has a few thoughts on bringing the ragin’ Cajun face to face with his comic book love interest Rogue, played in previous X-Men films by Anna Paquin.

“There are two things with that — she’s such a great actress and I’d love to work with her, and that would be cool to see Gambit and Rogue,” Kitsch told MTV News.

Just because he is open to turning Gambit and Rogue into an on-screen romance doesn’t mean he wants Remy LeBeau to stay tied down, however. Much like Wolverine, Gambit comes from a drifter’s background, and Kitsch is extremely conscious of that.

“I’d also like to see the charming Gambit on his own and see how he is with other women — see how he is with the women in the casino there, with the charm and the suave and the effortlessness it takes with him,” he explained. “That’s something I’d like to explore as well.”

If a “Gambit” movie focused on his life with the Thieves Guild, of course, there is every chance it could focus on his first love, Bella Donna Boudreaux, who came from the Thieves’ rival Assassins Guild. Whoever’s lips he’s kissing, though, you can bet Kitsch will be all ears if there is a spin-off to be made.

i think a Gambit movie would b awesome.i love gambit and was sad he wasnt in the xmen movies but understand there really wasnt much room for him.but i think talyor ktsch in a spinoff is a garuntee.i remember reading a month ago that if wolverine is successfull then wed get a sequel, and the deadpool, gambit and magneto spin offs.however...marvel needs to get these rights back for xmen...fox will screw them up most likely....even more than last stand

          I hope not.

Gambit was HORRENDOUS in the latest movie. I use to love the character but they made him seem like a pussy.

Hmm, I didn't see it that way. But, to each their own.

I don't think he was awful, just nothing special. I don't see him being able to carry a movie of his own however.

I thought that Gambit in the movie was ok. He didn't have enough scenes to say much about the quality of the actor imo. But Gambit is a great character so i'm hoping for a spin-off.

I don't think they should have an entire movie on him. Just put him in each of these Origin films as more of an observer. In wolverine he was like a witness to Logans revenge. So in future when they do other origin stories they should do the same thing. Have him come accross magneto, or Xavier or any of the other characters they could use. Keep him generally neutral and just being an ally in a time of great need for that character.
Please do me a huge favour and help me be with the love of my life.

If/when this film dose happen, it should involve his exile from New Orleans, his relationship with Mister Sinister, leading to The Mutant Massacre.

I'd like some of the film to be on his escape from the island but I guess seeing as the island was in the wolverine film they may not want to that

                          I like that idea.
Science Fiction is an existential metaphor; it allows us to tell stories about the human condition.

Isaac Asimov once said individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.

                            Gambit
                            Release Date: Unknown
Development Status: Not much is known about a potential Gambit spinoff movie other than the fact that both 20th Century Fox and actor Taylor Kitsch have expressed an interest. Before his appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Gambit had been planned for small roles in both X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand.

Given that Gambit's origin story was alluded to in Wolverine, it seems likely that a spinoff film would shift focus to the character's later years. Kitsch has voiced his desire for the film to be darker in tone than its predecessor and to explore Gambit's back story.
