Does anyone know the song that plays, when Sheppard chases the Wraith out of the pokergame out of the casino, and then jumps off the roof n carrys on??

Its a great song, but NO ONE knows what it was!! Its not one of the Rolling Stones, Manson, or Jonny Cash songs. And NO its not rage against the machine.

To see what song i mean, see this youtube vid http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XPtyiJrTK9Q

Any help is seriously appreciated!

Actually, I remember hearing something of Manson's music being played during the episode. Maybe that was it? The Wraith was listening to Manson during his dressing.

Did you check any of White Zombie's music? Or were you the person who placed that comment on your youtube?

In some other thread someone told that it can be Pokerface by Tempest, or Rattled Bones by Something Dark and Sinister.

But can't find those songs anywhere. :(

Two people have asked Rob Cooper about it on JM's blog, so hopefully he or Joe will answer.

Dave the Wraith said that, and we have now proclaimed those two songs to be a farce.

You should know better than to listen to Dave. Only listen to Todd.

It sounded kind of like Clutch to me, but it's probably some band I don't know. I've asked one of the rock fan groups I'm in.

Oh and that thing about "Something Dark and Sinister" left by Dave the Wraith or whatever, total lies. The band doesnt exist, so can scratch that one off. The search continues....

Umm, maybe its just something composed for the scene
Like in SG1 where Dr Lee is testing frequencies using 'Dark Pariah', a fictional metal band
The music was probably composed for that scene in Vegas, its not exactly a difficult/complex composition, just a few beats, etc

Oh, I also used Shazam and Midori on my iphone to try to identify it, but no hits from the databases ;)

Well, if anyone finds out, I'd like to know what it is too. Until then I'll keep searching.

I have searched a couple of databases with friends, but no luck. Did the producers respond yet to the query about the music? As an interim measure, I downloaded the flash video from youtube and converted it to an MP3, but it would be great to find the real thing.

*POSSIBLY* based upon an acquaintance's reply to a post I made to my rock fan groups - "Chase the Devil to Hell" by Granny on Acid. Can't find anything online, but maybe someone else can find out if it's true or if he's teasing?

They may be from the Phoenix, Arizona (USA) area and may be getting airplay on XM radio?

I can't help it. I've been listening to that metal soundtrack-part all over again.
This might seem somehow off-topic, but when the sick guy enters the humanlike wraith and is fed upon, there's that music which just sounds horribly like "Hans Zimmer - The Kraken" from Pirates of the Carribean. Just played with a guitar. :S There's some beat which is offset or something like that.

What do you think?

Here's the link to the song:

The lyrics seem a bit familiar it could be a metal cover on a more common song.
Try some software like Shazam its a music recognition program. You can also dial a number on your cell/mobile and let the software program listen for about 20 seconds. Within a few seconds of calling texts back you the name of the track and artist.

Original music in this episode: "The Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson, "Sympathy for the Devil" by The Rolling Stones and "Solitary Man" covered by Johnny Cash.

It is neither of them.

People seem to think it is a Manson track but it isn't, Beautiful People was the only track from Manson used and that was during the Wraith make up scene.

I really want to find out what that casino chase scene music was as well ;/

And we have an answer:

Rob Cooper answered questions about Vegas at
Joe Mallozzi's Blog (http://josephmallozzi.wordpress.com/2009/01/18/january-18-2009-series-creatorshowrunnerexecutive-producerwriterdirectorduck-smoker-robert-c-cooper-answers-your-questions/#comment-58583)

I chose the songs asking many people their opinions along the way. Yes, we paid for them. Another significant budget overage. I have to credit Charlie Cohen Executive VP of MGM for wanting to make the end of season five as special as it could be. Joel Goldsmith was very excited about stepping outside the box for an episode. His music is brilliant as usual. He wrote everything except the three songs we bought.

I thought everyone just naturally assumed the wraith would listen to Marilyn Manson. I also would have loved to get a White Zombie song but I ran out of money. Many of you have wondered what the song is for the chase sequence. It’s Joel’s music. Pretty awesome.

Go Joel!:)

Now they need to release it on a soundtrack or something. I would love to have a copy of that music on my MP3 player! LOL
