View Full Version : Maybourne and Bra'tac in the third SG-1 movie?

Miroslav

As Brad Wirght said, third SG-1 movie would be Jack centered story (sadly without Vala :( ).

So, it would be perfect to incorporate Jack's buddy Maybourne and Bra'tac ("Well we just cross that bridge..." :D ) in the movie.

Can you elaborate this?

Well, I can said that whole Jack/Daniel thing is also done and seen multiple times, but nevertheless, I want Daniel in the third SG-1 movie.

Can you elaborate this?

Their relationship with each other, the dislike that gradually evolved into a mutual but grudging respect

I think he means there's nothing more to add to that relationship.

I agree with that, Maybourne went from being threatened with gun violence, to being shot, to being friends.

I don't think you can go anywhere else, unless maybourne shoots jack...

Miroslav

Well, we can now see Jack, who help his friend Maybourne, or vice versa, when one of them gets in trouble.

Anyway, who cares about "adding to relationship". I just want to see Maybourne again, with some funy lines.

I would like Maybourne and Bra'tac in the movie.

Maybourne is perfect a getting Jack annoyed and when Jacks annoyed some of hus best one liners come out. Bra'tac is a great warrior and is very wise. Plus he and Jack usually have a silent battle for control with each other trying to out do each other.

The more good SG-1 characters in the new movie, the better - as long as they're well utilized.

Would love to see Bra'tac again and even Mayborne. I'm anxiously awaiting any spoilers for the new film!

We definitely need to see Bra'tac again, and Maybourne would be nice too, but probably harder to get into the story with crowbarring him in.

I miss the Jack/Harry thing tbh, altho I'm still waiting for a proper reason to bring Jack into the film..
His clone.
Something to do with that woman he left on that planet.
The Asgard (I mean the MW ones not the PG ones, I dont buy the they all died when the planet popped thing) or maybe sometihng to do with the PG ones coming to the MW n kidnapping Jack, he then dies/accends..

I actually thought of the other way around. Maybourne's the perfect guy to get Jack in an off world story with out a crow bar. Like we saw in "Its good the be King" Maybourne's in trouble off world? Who's he going to trust to come help him? Landry? Cam? Vala? Hell no. Only Jack O'Neill will do...

That's what I was thinking ;) Maybourne is king on that planet Janus used to live, isn't he? Maybe he finds something interesting there (a vague reference to the Furlings perhaps? - Paradise Lost) and decides to contact Earth/O'Neill for help.

Since it's a Jack story, it would make sense to have Maybourne back, if they did it right. Maybe not so much Bra'tac - though Bra'tac would hate Maybourne *so much* and it would be funny. :D

(Speaking of Bra'tac, I'm still sad they can't do an 'old guy' kind of spinoff movie anymore - Bra'tac, Jacob, Hammond and Landry, out in the galaxy kicking butt with styyyle.)

I'm so anxious to hear anything about the plot of the new film! I'd love to know who that ship belonged to in 'Grace'. The Furlings might be good, coming to help save Earth/Jack someone/thing when they need it. After all, they are part of that alliance of races and we've never seen them.

Bra'tac has to be in it asuming mister Amendola wishes to do it

Oh, please no Maybourne. That would just do me in. I know a lot of people liked him, but I never really cared for the character, and his evolution from "mean, irritating, and somewhat creepy" to "shady, but not malicious and often semi-friendly" never really worked for me. And I agree that now that Mayborune is a friend instead of a semi-foe, there's not much to do with him.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bra'tac. I would be quite happy to see him again, actually. But for his presence to make sense, the movie would probably have to incorporate the Jaffa plotline somehow. And I doubt that will be the case. Still, it could be possible. And Bra'tac is always a pleasure to see. :)

Mayborne's story has probably ended, but I did enough his interaction with Jack. It'd be nice to see him again, though I don't really see it happening. Bra'tac, depending on the kind of story, could possibly be included.

I'm not sure there's a whole lot left to do with Maybourne. I mean, if they found something and made it work, sure that'd be great, but after his last episode I really felt like the chapter on that character was closed. But hey, I've been wrong before.

I would love to see Bra'tac, but it would make sense to have him in a Teal'c centric movie.

IMO, Maybourne's story was put to rest in Season 8. No real sense in revisiting the character.

As for Bra'tac though, him I would love to see in one of these SG-1 movies. If not this 3rd one, please let him be in the next one.

Such a great foil for Jack. I'd like to see him appear again, if not in a movie, maybe one of the books.

This thread made me reflect on the episode ‘Paradise Lost'.

Since Jack is going to make a big appearance in the third movie, there's no reason why the writers can't delve into stuff about the Furlings. In turn, it would be a good reason to have Maybourne back. I agree, there have been so many great Jack – Maybourne moments, it would be hard to resist seeing them both together again.

Correct.

I think it is the only piece of Furling technology we have seen in Stargate.

Well, then, their 'paradise' was sorely lacking:) They probably all killed each other and that's why we've never seen them.

I liked Maybourne, but I think his story is pretty much done. Bra'tac should be in the 3rd movie. There could be some sort of Jaffa Nation subplot that he would fit nicely in. This way O'Neill could say "jaf-fah" or "gould" a few times. :)

He had his moments. But as others have said, his story was pretty well put to rest in season 8. Personally, I didn't care for Maybourne because I felt like they kept changing their minds about what they wanted to do with him. But he did have some good moments. Just not enough that I want to see him again, especially since he hasn't played a big part in the Stargate universe lately.

I would like to see them again, maybe that is the reason why O'Neill is in the next movie... maybe maybourne just found another planet to steal technology or something else (what i don't think it is going to happen ) just thinking ...

but those Characters were great in the serie and i would love to see the interaction between Bra'Tac and Teal'c again they are good friends...

Are you thinking of Simmons in Prometheus? He flew out an airlock.

I think the last we saw of Kinsey, he was a goa'uld on a ha'tak filled with former Trust operatives... and they were threatening to kill him? I always got the impression that someone killed him, but it wasn't shown. Anyone can feel free to correct me, because I don't remember that episode very well.

I agree. When every Maybourne and Jack did anything the screen was just electrified with great tag team lines and energy. He can have a 10 mins slot for all I care I love Maybourne.

I also dearly love Master Bra'tac. As long as the story calls for them in some way then cool, but if not lets not force an appearance from them. :tealc:

No I forget what happens but they don't kill him for some reason. He walks away and then you hear a ring transporter, implying that he escapes.

He escaped to an Al'Kesh, that was destroyed a litle later. I don't see how Kinsey could come back, but since his death wasn't shown he could be out there somewhere...like Ford! :p

I'd like to see Maybourne agian, surely his little village has grown much over the few years. There might be more Ancient secrets at those ruins.

Yeah, ok, I knew there was a reason I didn't think Kinsey was alive. I just couldn't remember the episode where I thought he'd 'died':)

Maybourne probably has a whole brood of kids by now . . .

I really want to see something more with the Ancients in the new movie. I loved them.

Maybourne and Jack did have some very good interactions throughout the series and I love to see them meet again to solve galactic problem, especially he now has his own little piece of kingdom on one of the planets out there.
