    Why Didnt our Asgard Know...

The Ancients and the Asgard were part of a Great Alliance sharring information and so forth.

The Ancients moved to Pegasus and eventually became at war with the Wraith, Now excluding the Lost Tribe of the Asgard in Pegasus why did no other Asgard know about the Wraith?

When the Ancients returned to Earth and our Galaxy they could not rebuild there civilization which is fair enough but surely they still had contact with the Asgard? And would have told them about what had happened in Pegasus and about the Wraith. We know the Asgard knew the Ancients left for Pegasus and they Clearly know where it is

It is probably a Plot Hole but it does seem very strange to me that both races are part of this great alliance but did not communicate this information to one another.

    Any thoughts?

The Asgard really don't tell earth much. They didn't even tell earth what other planets were covered under the Protected Planets Treaty until after "Red Skies." The Asgard may have known about the Wraith but there's really no way to tell. Although Hermiod never seemed particularly impressed by the Wraith.

I've never gotten the feeling that the Ancients really cared about anything other than themselves. If it suited them to tell the Asgard, they would have.

I think that the Great Alliance was formed by the descendants of the Ancients who activated the Dakara genesis device, we after all have no idea how many Ancients were left in the Milky Way after the Lantians left for the Pegasus galaxy, I think it's fair to assume that not all of the Ancients left in our galaxy died off from the Plague some could have continued their race until say a few thousand years before the survivors of Atlantis returned to our galaxy.
So I think the Lantians may not have been aware that some of their kind still remained in the Milky Way, as all that was required to active the Dakara device would have been a few individuals, these could have shielded themselves from the effects of the 'weapon' and continued as a race for a few million years.

Yeah, it's possible the Asgard did know about the Wraith, but just didn't do anything about them. The Asgard were already fighting two wars, outmatched--resource-wise, by both enemies. While the Asgard could bluff the Goa'uld, there's no way they could have bluffed the Wraith into not feeding. Sure, I'd bet an O'Neill could take out a Hive or two, there's just no way the Asgard could make any significant impact on the affairs of Pegasus.

Very true albiet im not too bothered about the notion of the Asgard at war with the Wraith merely the fact that the Ancients may or may not have told them and if they did why didnt the Asgard inform us before we set off to Pegasus

I just don't think that the Lantians were aware of the Alliance in the Milky Way, IMO they were an isolated group from the other Alterans and had no connection with the advanced races in the Milky Way.

Not sure about that mate, in "theFifthRace" the Asgard said the Ancients moved on from our region of space a long time ago, which implies they left the galaxy...most probably leaving for pegasus.

The Lost Tribe Ancients knew the Lanteans and knew they would not approve of there methods of research, so they already had the alliance it would seem back in the milky way.

Now the Ancients were in pegasus for a very very long time, but even then it does not make sense upon returning to the milky way not to contact your old friends?

The Asgard civilization is around about 100,000 years old as was stated by the leader guy of The Lost Tribe in that episode, so there's no way they could have been present in the Milky Way when Atlantis left for the Pegasus galaxy as that was between 5 and 10 million years ago.
If some Alterans remained in the Milky Way after Atlantis left then their civilization could have continued for millions of years until say the Asgard came to the Milky Way and made contact with those Ancients, who could have told the Asgard about some of their people going to seed Human life in the Pegasus galaxy, hence why The Lost Tribe knew about Humans and Ancients living in that galaxy.

By region of space the Asgard in 'The Fifth Race' could have been referring to our 'plane of existence' so he may have meant that the Alterans in the Milky Way ascended.

If the Ancients from Pegasus were isolated from those in the Milky Way when the Alliance began and concluded, it would make perfect sense that they not contact the Asgard or any other race from the alliance in their times of need as they may not have known about the alliance or those races being friends with their relatives in MW and they may think they were the only Alterans besides perhaps the Ori left alive in the Universe.
If the Lantians knew some of their people remained in the Milly Way they would have contacted them for assistance against the Wraith, unless the Alliance had already dissolved 10,000 or so years and their relatives had already ascended.

Too me this theory is the only one that makes any sense given the information that TPTB have given us about the Alliance and Ancients.
Previous episodes like The Fifth Race may have been written without Atlantis in mind, but Atlantis was referred to as the Lost City so perhaps not all of Ancients in the Milky Way knew of it's location just that their people had a presence in the Pegasus galaxy.

Cant argue with that logic unfortunatly!

I think given the precieved time line it would have happened as you said, And with the Lost Tribe loosing there intergalactic ships then it would stand to reason they would be unable to communicate back or anything.

However still on returning to the Milky Way I do find it difficult to understand why the Ancients didnt put warnings up..dont go to pegasus and wake up the life sucking vampires!

Yep-or if the Lost Tribe may have stopped talking to the High council all-together, then the Asgard High Council might have asumed that the Lost Tribe were all dead due to unforeseen circumstances?????????

we don't know when that alliance occured + I doubt that the Alterans met these rogued Asgard so they probably didn't even know they were there in PG.

Yes, given they lost there intergalactic ships you could assume they have no other direct means of communicating with the high council or they with them.

They would probably have been considered Missing or given the war with the replicators dead even.

one of the biggest plot-hole is that alliance itself, not just this Lost Tribe/Alteran event in PG
