Well that eclipse had to be one of the stupidest plot devices I've seen in long time. "Our powers are gone for 5 hours. Lets have some profound self-realizations and switch sides to pass the time."

At the very end of this episode, I was actually very disappointed with both Sylar and Nathan's decisions. I liked what they were trying to become.:(

Next week's episode should be pretty darn good though, based on the preview.

The episode had some good things and some bad things. The main bad thing was that Sylar and Nathan went over to the bad side, even though Sylar was already on the bad side before. This next part is for anybody who hasn't seen the episode yet.

Slyar also killed Elle. I liked her.

Anyway, I think Baron Samedi's abilty's pretty cool. Another downside is that the eclipse really didn't evolve their powers, in which I was led to believe, only for them to come to some realizations. All and all, I have to give this episode a 5 out of 10. Could have been better, but oh well.

Anywho, I have two favorite quotes for this episode.

"Best day. Ever." - Hiro and Sam

"Bad man." - Hiro

Yeah the eclipse was stupid, it appears the writers didn't even have any idea how it was supposed to remove powers. It seems like the people who wrote this episode only had the barest knowledge of the Heroes universe. "Hey there was a coincidental eclipse in the first episode, that must be what gave them their powers".

I believe since the first episode, despite all my friends saying it was unimportant that the eclipse was essential to the plot and I was right. Every time their eclipse people someone get super powers.

How this is link to everything else I do not know.

I personally think that the eclipse bit is stupid in how it seem to be the same everywhere the writers should have have only a partial eclipse.

How does it effect them have not got a clue. Alignment of the moon, sun and Earth electromagnetic fields which can affect the function of the brain would be my bet. How this link in with DNA and the chemicals that suresh was playing around with I have not got a clue.

As part that this episode is pretty good through I have not got a clue what the game changer is, I thought their whole universe was meant to change after this episode.

cool, smart Hiro was back which was very cool to watch through he should of dump Sylar in the pacific or a volcano.

Interesting that we now know that Hiro dad was the one that gave Clare to Bennett, which seem kind of obvious as he was the one protecting the formula.

But Sylar changing back is the only thing that I did not like about this episode and him killing Elle which was a shame I like her, through we did not see her 100% dead possible someone will intervene.

That was something we already knew anyway from "Company Man" in season 1.
I thought that the episode was pretty average in comparison to the last few. I agree over Nathan's chnage of heart, seemed very forced.

Interesting little fact the director of this episode directed SGA's Home in season 1 (http://gregbeeman.blogspot.com/2008/12/season-3-episode-11.html)

After the eclipse did Peter's powers come back?

I don't think so, but that would of been interesting to see. In all interesting episode. Hiro saved the entire thing for me. my two favorite lines:
"Best. Day. Ever."-Hiro and Sam
"Bad man"- Hiro as he teleports Sylar away.

I was almost hoping that they had. And that he would have been shot by those guys, and we would have seen him heal. That would have been so sweet to see!

He has to get them back, I just don't know how.

I got a theory but it a bit of a stretch but one of the ways I see him getting his powers back is if Arthur is force to give him them back to him and the only way I could see this happening is if Sylar somehow bring him close to death that he cannot not heal from or perhaps the haitan can selectively disable people powers and when Sylar undoubtedly turns on Arthur (Bennett is telling the truth for once)the haitan neutralizes his healing abilities and bribing him into giving peter his powers back and then peter Sylar has a massive battle just after Sylar takes out the Haitan of cause.
And this time it a battle to the finished.

Interesting. But, I don't see Sylar or Peter going anywhere anytime soon. They may fight it out again, but both will be around for some time IMO.

I loved those lines, they're my favorite ones.

Anyway, I hope Peter gets his powers back as well. The two things I would really like to know right now are: Kaito's power (since Hiro has a power and powers are inherited), also the Haitian's actual name. Though I doubt they'll reveal the second one anytime soon/

Peter needs them back and this would of been a nice way to do it. Give Maya hers back too and nearly kill Mohinder. Maybe also force the powers that Arthur took from others to be put into their owner, unless said guy was dead, then he keeps them. I too liked the fights but could not understand the eclipse logic.

The writers definitely under used the eclipse imo. They build up this big suspence with "Itīs coming!" and then it coems and goes without anything of any note happening because of it!

Syler once again flips his personality switch which is getting rather boring, I was hoping that Bennett had managed to kill him for real though I knew all along that it would go the way it did. I hope they explain his behavior on the beach as being due to the hunger hitting him full force again after he was free from it for several hours.

Nathans actions make no sense, he seeīs a couple of girls in trouble and decides that if everyone has powers then something like this wouldnīt happen? Considering how massively different all the possible powers are it would still lead to some dominating over others (just think what a smart Peter could have done had he wanted to).

Iīm guessing they will use the eclipse to justify new people getting powers for the second half of the season. If the writers are smart they will make sure to really kill several characters to make room for new ones.

Well, since it's a deleted scene, it's considered non-cannon, which means that the writers could come up with a totally different power for him when the episode that reveals his power, actually airs. So, Kaito's power could be something like, enhanced hearing, freezing, or something like that.

Man, I was all hyped for the Eclipsage, thinking it would provide an awesome plot-point and totally mess with the status-quo for a while, muck things around, but no...

Instead...

We find the Haitain (Who, might as well not have gone missing, it added nothing to the plot, other than introduce his brother who we're supposed to decide to hate).

Nathan allies himself with his father (Which he was beginning to do anyway?)

Claire & Sylar die. Yet again. No suspence or drama there. They. Are. Immortal. The Eclipse ending was bound to give them their powers back, the only reason for killing them again was for some over-used whumpage. Claire with her daddy-issues, Sylar/Bennet hate. Whoo.

Mohinder reverts back to being human, then back to being Spider-Mohinder again. Big change there.

Daphne has a weakness and sorts out some angsty family-history. Thinks she's evil. Still.

Hiro is annoying. Screw the past 3 seasons of character development! Let's revert him back to his innocent and happy-go-lucky Season 1 personna.

Infact, the only plot-relevent happens in these episodes were:

Flint gets beaten to unconciousness

Sylar kills Elle. For no apparant reason other than to prove that he is srsly evil like.

Arthur & Angela aren't actually Sylar's parents, perhaps. Which i'm hoping for (Sylar's dad has to be played by Lenard Nemoy. Definitely.)

I didn't think it was too bad of an episode. I just wish they could've explained how the Eclipse did what it did. It doesn't bother me as a plot device, in fact I quite like it, but they just left it unexplained.

One thing I didn't get though. At the end why did Sylar kill Elle? Didn't he already have her ability?

"Bad man"

Boy did you hit that on the nail and in just a few words too. I just watched these two episodes this weekend and man do I feel like puking. What has happened to this show? It started out so promising. Now, there is no depth to the characters at all and quite frankly every time I see Hiro I want to hit the mute button. I seriously doubt I will be purchasing season 4 after watching this trash. It's going to have to really step up its game.....

Don't do it, season 4/volume 5 is awful. Volume 4 was the last good thing that happened to Heroes.

Thanks for the heads up here. I decided to spend my money more wisely and purchase the entire four seasons of Farscape. I've never seen any of the episodes and I've heard good things about the show. Plus, it has Ben Browden and Claudia Black in it, so that should be a treat in itself.

Claudia Black is always a treat :) Been planning to go watch Farscape too once I've finished Dexter and a few animes.

Also, volume 4 (Fugitives) is still very enjoyable, way better than volumes 2 or 3. It starts out a tad slow, but once Bryan Fuller started giving his input the show got back into it's volume 1 awesomeness. So at least finish up that season 3 boxset, the last few episodes are really good, and after that just pretend season 4/volume 5 doesn't exist :P

I was more disappointed with Nathan than Sylar. Nathan just seems like he is once again, going how 'daddy' wants it to be. While sylar is returning to his true nature..

Slyar also killed Elle. I liked her.

I also liked her, but felt that with her 'zapping' of people just cause from back in S2, she needed to get smited.

"Best day. Ever." - Hiro and Sam

If i had soda in the mouth at that time, i would have likely spit it all over my screen!

I am just wondering. Could Hiro teleport someone without having to go with them?? If so, why can't he just teleport some of these baddies into space? Even the super healers i am sure would get burned into nothingness from re-entry.

As to the whole daddy thing and the passing of the kid, iirc didn't we get a flash back on that IN season 1??
