    Hermiod

    What ever happened to Hermiod?
Well obviously he was among the Asgard that killed themselves, but what did he say to get off the daedalus? me and all the other asgard are going back to our planet to commit suicide? surely he must have told the humans something.

To be totally honist, im not sure, as far as i can remeber they never really spoke about it, one moment he was there next he was not, I would imigine when the Deady got back to Earth on one of its round trips, the Asgard would have simply said that Hermiod was being recalled, they always used to dessaper with out any excuess lol.......

Plus its just another one of the SGA/SG1 commen events that dont really tie in!!!!

I imagine that is just precisely what he said because it was the truth, no?
"First Weir, then Samantha Carter, and now, you! It's a pity you humans die or get reassigned so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction now!"

*You got the touch! You got the poweeeeer!*

It seemed that in Unending, Landry & SG-1 weren't aware that the Asgard were going to commit autogenocide, if the Daedalus had been made aware of this, I'm sure they would have reported this back to the SGC/ Earth, no?

I know Im ranting a bit here but hey lol...... I think the way the Asgard where killed of in SG1 was really........crud........... they just needed some reason for the Asgard to "have" to give Earth weapons powerfull enough to take on the Ori, mainly becuase it was obvious Earth was not going to come up with anything on its own...........so they decided, "hey i know, let kill em of!!!"

Cause as much as i love the Asgard they would not just hand out super weapons if they where still alive!!!

Since SG-1 was based on mythology:
In Greek mythology, Asgard is destroyed, so wouldn't it make sense for the writers to end the race of the Asgard? Just a thought.

well, after "The Lost Tribe" we should read new comments about the Asgard
                      Spoiler:
Mission report. Michael invaded Atlantis, tried to blow it up. We stopped him. End of report.

Asgard is never in Greek mythology. Asgard is destroyed at Ragnarok in Norse mythology.

Ha I can see that happening. Rodney would become so absorbed in a new discovery he just made, that Hermiod would get sick of him and say "I must retreat to my quarters." McKay would say, "Yeah sure." Three days later, they realize Hermiod is missing and they find his little Asgard body hanging. But then somehow he uploads his consciousness on the ship's computer, and then in Enemy at the Gate, he disables the Daedalus' weapons, uploads himself to the other Asgards' ship, and takes off. It would be awesome.

It is impossible for Asgard to ascend (Unending--Daniel explains it)
