U.S.S. Simply stands for United States Ship. That pretty well describes all the Daedalus Class Battlecruisers and Prometheus except for Korolev. When the time comes to utilize Earth's best weaponry against an ailen threat. The weapon that will ultimately prove to be Earth's best will be the Zatnikitel

Just one of many things that make absolutely no sense in the realm of Stargate.
USS is a navy classification and yet the commander of the vessel is always Air Force. There's an oxymoron!
The air force don't use USS in any classifications. The numbers on the tail fin of the craft/plane IS the classification.
Not even the space shuttle uses an acronym classification in the names of the ships. Though all shuttles are classified under "orbiter."
It's like tptb decided to just through in earth's own ships and not look at how the vessel would be classified, named or made.
At least Star Trek took the time to make an acronym that made sense. There's is United Star Ship.Grammar, Logic, Rhetoric.
