another interesting dive into the BMC SG Universe. This one deals with the gods and Ra's technology a bit more. We also find about Ra's paranoia of sorts and his distrust for the other gods around him.

It also gets abit more into the abydan/human relationship and soon climazes with a kick ass independence day style end and its really good read. Really interesting!

I really enjoyed this book. I loved Hathor's intrigues and her husband the scientist ship builder. When I wrote a fic that took place mainly on a Goa'uld ship I studied this book exhaustively for details and I was blown away by just how well I could see the ship interior and exterior, yet I found so very little actual descriptive details. That's what I call good writing technique!

I also appreciated how MacKay handled the post liberation situation and didn't make the liberators out to be noble heros all with only the best intentions for the good of Abydos. It really helped to highlight how deeply the original team had connected with the Abydonians.

A Cherokee elder sitting with his grandchildren told them,
"In every life there is a terrible fight – a fight between two wolves.
One is evil: he is fear, anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity,
resentment, and deceit. The other is good: joy, serenity, humility,
confidence, generosity, truth, gentleness, and compassion."
A child asked, "Grandfather, which wolf will win?"
The elder looked the child in the eye. "The one you feed."
