    Everyone was stupid

the Asgard were stupid for going away and leaving Daniel and Mccay in the base after the device was activated. they knew Mccay was an expert of ancient technology who could activate the device (which they couldn't) yet didn't think he could open an ancient door. they didn't even put guards at the door.

the suits being able to host humans was also stupid as it was designed by the asgard for the asgard.

Todd and the wraith were stupid. when they left the ship after setting it on a collision course, why not feed on the humans before leaving if they were going to kill them all anyway? Todd kept every single one of them alive when he was going to kill them all later. aren't the wraith hungry?

Woolsey was stupid, when he knew the ship was going to collide into the planet why didn't he order everyone to go to the 302's to escape the ship? at least some of them could have been saved by leaving the ship.
and he was especially stupid for ordering to destroy the Atero device.
Humans know of a way to shut down all stargates using a virus. so all they had to do was use it to shut off all the gates in the galaxy, and then activate the device again. this would rid the galaxy of the wraith.

the ancients were stupid for not thinking about that themselves. how hard was it for the race that invented the stargates to shut down all the stargates?

The fact that they left empty suits lying around was stupid. It's also stupid that the armor doesn't protect against stunners.

The humans were armed by then and it would have taken too much effort to pacify them. The armor not protecting against stunners is also stupid.

The Daedalus has a crew of a couple hundred but there are only 16 F302's. However, they could have just had Ronan shoot the computer control crystals like he did with the weapons and hyperdrive.

They destroyed the device to deny the Asgard access to it.

They were doing stupid things way before they built the Attero device.

And what happened to the stunned Asgards in the facility? Did they get blown up with the facility?

I think the takeover of the Deadalus could have been done smarter - why didn't Todd transport all the humans over to his hive and hold them there, maybe keeping a couple for hostages, why didn't he make sure his men track down Ronan - he knows he is trouble and will sabotage what he can, He could have used the transporters to beam all the humans into one area as they all have subcunatious transponders. This would have ensured the sucess of his misson. There were many loopholes in his decisions - especially for someone who has been around for 10 000 years! I would imagine - first rule of taking over another races ship - secure all personel in one area and have guards placed to ensure said personel don't cause trouble. Todd is still the best wraith ever!

also Daniel telling the Asgard that his entire race is dead was stupid.
way to go making a radical group even more radical.
he should have said "the asgard managed to cure their condition, with our help. if you let us go we can take you to their new homeworld" or something like this. this would immediately pull the rag under their entire purpose of what they're doing.

also when Daniel and Rodney went into the reactor Rodney was doing all the work and Daniel was just standing next to all the electricity bolts just standing there. he should have at least ducked like Rodney.

*palmforehead* They didn't create the galactic virus, baal did, and woolsey destroyed it because if someone was to fix it, it could kill millions.......again. All we have to do to kill the wraith is track them using our sensors and then send the apollo or daedalus to those coordinates and a few plasma beams later, no more wraith.

              I'll just address this part:

Originally posted by AscendedThor View Post

First, Todd had no intention of killing the humans...he needs the Lanteans as allies, not enemies. However, he was also desperate. He didn't have time for long explanations..he needed to destroy that device, and Ronon had destroyed his weapons. So, just as Sheppard had destroyed the cloning facility in Spoils of War, Todd was going to do the same - afterall, he learned from the best! But he couldn't take 200 humans along with him in the transport - he had to sacrifice them to 1. Save the Wraith in his alliance, and 2. Save untold millions of humans. He did the only thing he could under the circumstances. EVERY second counted. He KNEW what was happening throughout the galaxy to human and Wraith alike.

However, he showed a certain amount of respect for his relationship with Sheppard. He didn't add insult to injury by feeding on the humans first, even though they were as good as dead anyway. Had he done so, it would have made him no better than the self-centered Asgards. Instead, he gave them at least some chance of survival, perhaps even hoping that Sheppard would arrive (as he always does) to save his people. It was a huge gamble, but one he HAD to take, for every human and Wraith in the galaxy.

You may not see it, but Todd was the hero here. The humans were screwing everything up, and he just couldn't trust any of them. Remember, we now know he's over 10,000 years old, he knows and understands a hell of a lot more about the Pegasus galaxy than all the Lanteans put together, even with Daniel thrown in. The only heroic thing Sheppard did was save the people on the Daedalus and Rodney and Daniel, then carry out Todd's plan to destroy the device.

See, Sheppard knew that - for the first time since they escaped from prison, Todd was NOT playing games. He was dead serious. Sheppard had to know that the price was dangerously high for Todd to take such a stand against him. So, instead of saying, "why don't we see what other treasures are in this secret lab", he did what he knew had to be done, and destroyed it before anything else could happen, just as Todd had intended to do.

In defense of Daniel, Daniel has also been one who upheld the truth the most. Back in the early SG-1 day when the team occasionally do some morally ambiguous things, Daniel has also been the voice of reason. It would have been out of character for him to lie to the Asgards.

As for the getting hit by the discharge, I guess Daniel was there to guide that away from McKay. Plus in good old SG-1 fashion, Daniel has to die (or come close to dying); I'm fairly sure that was supposed to be a bit of an inside joke.

If Todd were wise, he could send fleet of 302 and destroy facility with 302 weapons or own scout ship's weapon. Without try to destroy Daedalus he could have alliance with Atlantis go on.

In SG-1 they tested tauri's atmosphere and even they did not work in, they could launch missile outside of athosphere.

and why daedalus & other spache ship could work in atmosphere, but 302 not?
