    Stargate: Omega

    STARGATE: OMEGA

The year is 2129, more than a century since the Great War which destroyed the old, archaic System Lords, the rulers of the Milky Way Galaxy for ten-thousand years. In that time, new civilizations have risen up and prospered, with only occasional strife interrupting this unparalleled golden age. For what seems like an eternity, peace is the only constant for the galactic society, unbroken and undisturbed.

But that is changing; a terrorist attack on Earth leaves tens of thousands dead, and stuns the entire galaxy. The old races that stood against the Goa'uld attempt to rise to the challenge, but there is something hauntingly familiar about the dissent and devastation being sown throughout known space. After a hundred years of endless peace, the galaxy is stagnant and weak. The Jaffa Nation is corrupt, the Tau'ri are indifferent, and no other power possesses the might to face whatever darkness threatens to choke out the light forever.

New species shall rise to find their place amongst the stars, and old powers lurking in the depths of space will return. The serenity that once defined reality is faltering, and all life hangs in the balance.

    The end has begun.

    - -- --- -- -

For those of you that don't know me, I'm s09119, a fanfiction writer that has had a few projects based out of GateWorld over the years. My most beloved project, an attempt at redefining the idea of an extragalactic expedition, "Stargate: Avalon," was never finished due to my dedicated co-writer leaving for Iraq, and my latest project, a continuation of Stargate: SG-1, is nearing it's penultimate season. With that said, I'm running out of things to keep myself busy!

And so for the past month, I've been planning out what I deem a "pseudo-series" of Stargate; it will have episodes like any other show, and they will be written and posted for others to see, but they will not come out on any regular basis. This project will commence when I have the time for it and will continue as I can continue it. I call this series Stargate: Omega, the name coming from the Greek symbol which can mean "date of death," here marking the death of the old galactic order of human hegemony. Almost no previous characters will be making appearances, as, by this time, most will be dead, with new persons rising to fill their places.

Also, the galaxy is far different from the one last seen in SG-1 Season 10; Earth is an old and stagnant power, the Free Jaffa Nation is a massive, corrupt, and bloated body that dominates galactic affairs by sheer force of numbers alone, the Tok'ra have largely disappeared, and extragalactic allies such as the former followers of the Ori have grown indifferent, as well. The Atlantis Expedition was disbanded several years ago following the final defeat of the Wraith, and Earth no longer maintains military operations there. It would seem that the universe has found peace, though we know that is never true for long.

What makes Omega, in my mind, any different from another fanfiction? The primary villains will come from within, and will largely be caused by our own arrogance and neglect. Just as history repeats itself, so surely will the "Great Races" be the cause of their own destruction. Earth will be seen, but not as the point of narration; rather, the story will be told from numerous worlds and numerous characters. And the primary "team"? Well, you'll have to wait and see!

I don't know if this will even get off the ground popularly, but I plan on writing to amuse myself anyway, and I hope everyone else can get entertained along the way. Thanks for reading, and sit tight for the premiere!

        It is that seson again?

This seems interesting, will the great species be pited against each other in a massive cold war thriving with spies, informants, drama, intrigue, and mistery?

No fan-fic section seasons, just like real life has winter, spring, summer, winter, dry, cold, monsoon, and whatever, here we have fan series creation season.

A quick little teaser I put together:

                            Spoiler:
                            FADE IN:

                            [Darkness fills the screen.]

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
SG-1 unlocked the 'gate to the galaxy.

CUT TO: INT - STARGATE COMMAND, GATE ROOM

[A close-up shot of the STARGATE filters into view, showing the inner ring spinning past a chevron as it lights up.]

                            FADE OUT:

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
The Atlantis team unlocked the secrets of the universe.

CUT TO: EXT - LANTEA OCEAN

[A clip of the CITY OF ATLANTIS rising out of the OCEAN appears, with water spilling out from atop the high towers.]

                            FADE OUT:

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
                            Now, prepare to go beyond.

                            CUT TO: EXT - SPACE

[Two DSC-304s fly through space, escorting a much larger, clearly EARTH-designed, vessel.]

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
An interstellar civilization spans the galaxy...

CUT TO: EXT - NEW YORK CITY, AFTERNOON

[An-almost futuristic-looking NEW YORK CITY glimmers in the afternoon sun, the tall spires of skyscrapers stretching into the clouds. Hovercraft resembling PUDDLE JUMPERS buzz about busily.]

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
Humanity is spread from one corner of known space to the other...

CUT TO: EXT - CHULAK, DAY

[A vast metropolis has sprang up on CHULAK, stretching into the distance as far as the eye can see. GOA'ULD-esque structures remain, but most are tinged with ANCIENT-influenced architecture similar to that found on DAKARA. DEATH GLIDERS and AL'KESH, along with other small craft, patrol the skies.]

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
                            Old allies have grown powerful...

CUT TO: EXT - ALIEN PLANET, NIGHT

[Snow is falling softly on an ALIEN PLANET, but all that can be seen is a gigantic city, complete with small, floating platforms that hover above the main urban center. Soft green and white light emminates from the silvery buildings.]

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
And new races flourish in this era of peace and prosperity...

                            FADE OUT:

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
But all of that is about to change.

CUT TO: EXT - EARTH, ORBIT

[A HA'TAK-class mothership slams into a SPACE STATION orbiting EARTH, and the entire structure explodes in a bright ball of fire, illuminating nearby ships.]

CUT TO: INT - UNITED NATIONS, GENERAL ASSEMBLY HALL

[An older MILITARY MAN, dressed in a GENERAL's clothing, stands before the UNTIED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY, looking grim. He seems to be in the middle of a speech, and the HALL is utterly silent as the people listen.]

                            MILITARY MAN:
                            (to ASSEMBLY, seriously)
This is an affront to all of Earth, all of humanity!

CUT TO: EXT - BOSTON, EVENING

[A crowd of people point up to the sky, where a FIREBALL and bits of FLAMING WRECKAGE can be seen spiraling towards the atmosphere.]

                            MILITARY MAN:
                            (voiceover, louder)
The deeds of these terrorists cannot go unpunished! We will stand against the darkness, firm and strong, and we will be victorious!

CUT TO: EXT - CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN, DAY

                            [Establishing shot.]

CUT TO: INT - STARGATE COMMAND, CONTROL ROOM

[A YOUNG WOMAN in civilian clothes is following an OLDER WOMAN down the staircase leading into the CONTROL ROOM. Several TECHNICIANS are pulling dust guards off of computer consoles, and SOLDIERS can be seen in the GATE ROOM, moving about and looking upwards.]

                            YOUNG WOMAN:
                            (to OLDER WOMAN, frustrated)
We're talking about all the Hundred Worlds, all we've worked for!

[As she speaks, the image shifts briefly to two MEN looking up at a HOLOGRAM with far too many bright points of light to count. This is probably an image of the MILKY WAY GALAXY and all its planets. Then the scene in the CONTROL ROOM returns.]

                            OLDER WOMAN:
                            (quietly)
And I'm talking about the survival of the human race. That must always be out priority.

                            YOUNG WOMAN:
                            (frustrated)
Even if it means the end of everything for everyone else?

[The OLDER WOMAN pauses and turns back, looking at the YOUNGER WOMAN with eyes that appear to have seen far too much pain.]

                            OLDER WOMAN:
                            (quietly)
                            Yes, even if.

                            YOUNGER WOMAN:
                            (shocked)
When the stargate was first discovered, no one, not even SG-1, not even in our darkest hour, would—

                            OLDER WOMAN:
                            (interrupting, loudly)
They aren't alive to see what's going on anymore! We're alone, us, you and me and humankind, and I will not let us fade into mere memory!

CUT TO: EXT - DAKARA, DAY

[In the STARGATE PLAZA on DAKARA, two JAFFA, one MALE and one FEMALE, are staring at one another, STAFFS in hand. They appear to be ready to shoot one another.]

                            JAFFA FEMALE:
                            (to JAFFA MALE, angrily)
It once meant something to be a Free Jaffa! Tell me, Ki'lan, what does it mean now?

                            [The JAFFA MALE appears speechless.]

                            FADE OUT:

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
                            Alliances will be tested...

CUT TO: INT - ALIEN BUILDING, LARGE CHAMBER

[Two MEN stand inside a LARGE CHAMBER in an ALIEN BUILDING. A small crowd has gathered around them, listening, and a YOUNG WOMAN stands nearby, watching.]

                            MAN 1:
                            (to MAN 2)
And if the Tok'ra were behind it? Or the Jaffa?

                            MAN 2:
                            (to MAN 1, frustrated)
There's been more than a century of peace, they couldn't have—

                            Man 1:
                            (interrupting)
—but what if they were? That is the reality we're facing!

[As he speaks, the scene filters to a shot of a DSC-304 facing down a HA'TAK in DEEP SPACE.]

                            FADE OUT:

                            ANNOUNCER:
                            (voiceover)
Decisions will be made, and the galaxy will be changed... forever.

CUT TO: INT - STARGATE COMMAND, BRIEFING ROOM

[In the BRIEFING ROOM, the OLDER WOMAN, YOUNGER WOMAN, and the two MEN are assembled around a table, apparently in the middle of a discussion.]

                            OLDER WOMAN:
                            (to OTHERS)
Fine then, let's put it to a vote.

                            MAN 2:
                            (quietly)
                            Yes.

                            MAN 1:
                            (nodding)
                            Yes!

                            OLDER WOMAN:
                            And I say yes.

[The three stare at the YOUNGER WOMAN, who sighs, looking sad.]

                            YOUNGER WOMAN:
                            (sadly)
                            Then it's all undone...

CUT TO: INT - JAFFA BUILDING, SMALL CHAMBER

This reminds me of Russia (FJN) VS. US(HUmanity) and the cold war. Which woudl probably come about first anyways, interstelar empires do not jump at each other's throats over one space station.
