    Best Stargate SG-1 Episode - Ever!

    OK, I'm new to this forum, I've been browsing a bit recently and decided to join up.

    To kick my membership off I thought I'd try to organise a Tournament, whereby we manage to find out Gateworld.net's favourite ever SG-1 episode, through a series of knockout rounds and tournaments etc.

    I'm planning on organising the bracket on bracketmaker.com - when I've sorted it out I'll make sure I link it for you.

    For now, a general concensus would be nice to survey opinions as to whether it's a good idea or not. As far as I can tell it hasn't been done before so...

    Please let me know if it has.

    I know season-based tournaments have been done before, and they're nice and fun. I'm not sure about this, though after so many years, I'd be surprised if it hadn't been. But even if it has, it hasn't been since before AoT and Continuum aired, at least.

    For that matter, would you count those? They're really just extended episodes, those two.

      I was thinking about that.

      In a way they have an unfair advantage but I think it would be interesting to see how they fared up against the other episodes.

      Including the original Stargate Movie too?

        Now that's entering rather questionable territory. In some senses, the original movie is non-canon, as silly as it sounds -- different actors, separate locations for the facility; things just don't add up. In the grand scheme of things, it has to be canon, of course, but you might be opening up a can of worms.

        And I wouldn't worry too much about Ark of Truth and Continuum holding unfair advantages; enough people dislike either or both to weigh them down from immediate victory, especially the former. Still, it might be wise to try to garner more replies before including them -- if the majority of people interested decide that they should be left out, don't go with my word, go with theirs!

        Same with the original movie for that matter. Personally, I would say keep it in, but let's see what others have to say.

              I'll start setting up the tournament then. Might get some more reaction if there's something actually happening.

              Is this the best forum to do it in or is there a better place to have it? Somewhere busier?

                    I really like the one were SG1 has to escort Woolsey and some other member of the IOA to the Gamma site. And when they get their on the tour there is a scientist who is studying these bug creatures that he keeps in a glass box. So that night he decides to feed them some meatloaf and they start to multiply rapidly and bust out of the cage. They get inside of his body and kill him (of course) So now that these bugs have over run the Gamma site SG1 has to escort the IOA people out and protect them.

                    Mind you this was the EXTREMLEY abridged virsion and is very vague.
                    And it sucks cause i dont remember the episode name. But if you have watched it then you would know!!

                        Hmmm...

                        That thread is slightly different.

                        I have an idea for a favourite Stargate Character of all time...I'll do a search to see if that's been done and post it in the fun and games. As for this...

                        I'll see.
