hi im new. well this has been bugging me for a while. If the timeline had been altered does that meen that they created a paralel universe, so in theory would they be able to use the quantom mirror to go back to there timeline?

Stargate is very vague on these things, technicaly, yes, otherwise, we simply destroyed that timeline and reverted to a new one.

Yes you can use the quantum mirror to go back to their real timeline.

No they cant because it was was ordered by General Hammond to destroy it. But it might still be on that planet since we never took it back to the SGC. But that planet might of been taken over by Baal at that point.

so you (before ba'al changed the timeline) could use the quantum mirror to go to ba'als timeline before it happened. or to one where it's already happened

Based on Continuum I'd say that time travel happens within the same universe and the timeline is deleted and then recreated based on the effect you have had on the past. If the act of time traveling created a parallel universe, then Ba'al actions wouldn't have an effect on the universe he came from, nor would it have an effect on the future of the universe he created by time traveling as its existence would start with the point of time Ba'al went to. So people shouldn't have been vanishing and Mitchell wouldn't suddenly feel like he's about to not exist if that were the case. Of course, it's weird that that happened at all, but it should be completely impossible with parallel universes.
